Providore is a feast for the senses and a great place to treat yo self! Like other reviewers share,…read moreit's not the place to go for your regular grocery resupply, but for items where you want something unique, elevated, and special, this is the place. The market is well-stocked with unique shelf items from around the world-- pastas, jams/jellies, biscuits, oils, vinegars, tinned fish, and legumes. They have a vast deli case with meats, cheeses, and prepared items. The meat and fish counter is magazine-worthy and they feature some hot-food specials using meats and sausages from their counter. The wine selection is expansive-- we even saw a few bottles from the Loire region of France which we had the great fortune decades ago to visit family friends. It was the produce area that really made my heart sing and my eyes bug out. The produce section is colorful, artfully arranged. I could practically feel the antioxidants beaming into my body! I have never seen SO many varieties of alliums in my life. They had four different types of "green onion" (scallion, green garlic, calçot, and red spring onion), plus mahoosive leeks. We had a great experience with service which was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Since we were out and about doing other things we didn't get anything that required refrigeration like cheese, meats or produce, but we did have sandwiches from the deli case which were tasty. I look forward to going back for some of the produce and cheeses.

They've got everything from fresh produce to pantry staples, plus all those quirky finds you didn't even know you needed. The best part? Their commitment to keeping prices fair is real--good food should be for everyone, and TJ's totally gets that. Iconic You have to try their orange chicken frozen dish. Crispy, flavorful, and mega convenient for when you're hungry but lazy. It's the kind of quick meal that hits different--basically a little chef magic straight from your freezer. Inclusive The staff here are seriously the nicest. Always helpful, always friendly. Plus, TJ's is all about inclusiveness and diversity, from how they hire to the way they engage with the Portland community. Shopping here feels like being part of something bigger--a place where everyone belongs. Reflective Trader Joe's Portland totally vibes with the city itself--thoughtful, socially aware, and community-driven. They're more than just a grocery store; they're a spot that reflects Portland values while making your fridge look amazing.

I spent several minutes waiting near the register for her to even acknowledge me while she giggled and gossiped with them. Finally, she asked me how I was doing, I responded 'oh I'm fine,' and she clearly wasn't listening to me (going back to talking to her other co workers on the next register) because she asked me yet AGAIN how I was doing in a more ruder tone. The bagger was also side tracked by the other co workers and didn't help me bag at all. Maybe split them apart next time. Annoying as hell.
