4 stars but only cause I really like the wet burritos and the staff there are pretty nice and friendly. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you go inside, it looks like a diner lol They have a big menu too, from Mexican and American style breakfast (pancakes, french toast, omelettes) to dinner, and then some weekend specials like menudo, pozole and birria. Their chips are so good, super fresh and crunchy. They give you a basket if you dine in, but also a small bag if you're taking food to go. I like the salsa that comes with the chips, but they don't give any extra salsa for your burritos... I didn't love that. We got their burrito famoso (wet burrito) and regular burrito to go. Normally a "regular" burrito is just meat, beans and rice but theirs comes with all the fixins. Maybe I'm just not used to the town, cause I always thought super burritos were the ones that came with the whole shebang but starting to realize it's different out here lol I originally wanted al pastor for my wet burrito but they said they were out.. It was Sunday at 5 PM btw. I opted for carne asada for both burritos instead. Both burritos came out hefty but they were packed full of rice. I do prefer more rice than beans, so I do appreciate that it wasn't super bean heavy, but they were pretty stingy with the meat. The burritos themselves don't have any salsa in them, nor do they grill the tortillas well, so the burritos were just pretty soggy. I don't mind that for my wet burrito but my bf wasn't happy about his. I liked the enchilada sauce that was on my wet burrito. It seemed like because they put cheese on top of the burrito, they didn't put any inside, but I feel like for $18 you could really sprinkle a bit in and out lol The two burritos plus a large horchata will set you back a good $42.. sheesssh! Their horchata is decent too, not chalky, but a little watery for my taste. Overall, I would def come back for another wet burrito but I'd request them to add salsa inside, and maybe a couple extra cups on the side for my burrito and chips. I've been coming here for over 15 years and have yet to have a single bad experience, whether it's the service or the food. There's a reason I keep coming back! My go-to order is a burrito Famoso with carnitas, drenched in salsa diabla, absolute chef's kiss. It may be a small, hole-in-the-wall spot, but those are always the best. read more

I came here with a friend after a Raider game, and before heading to Oakland Airport. I saw the siete mares on the menu, and despite the price ($4 more compared to So CA), I decided to go for it ($18.95). My friend ordered the chicken mole w/ rice & beans ($12.95 - not pictured). Both dishes come w/ homemade flour or corn tortillas. 4 Caminos also offers a variety of authentic plates w/ or w/o seafood. The broth of the siete mares was very good. You could taste the fresh vegetables and epazote that infused the broth. However, the fish was not completely de-boned, and there was not that much seafood in relation to the price: 3.5 Stars. My friend really liked his chicken mole. He thought the taste was much better compared to Juanitas in Alameda (late night place we frequent): 4 Stars. Lastly, the chips and salsa were also better quality compared to Juanitas. The ambiance is very quaint, but nothing to speak of. There are 10 tables, 3 booths, and some seats at the counter. You can see plates stacked up high on the counter in front of the kitchen: 3 Stars. The service was not that good. My dish came out way after my friend's, and another couple seated next to us. In fact, the couple seated next to us received 4 complete dishes well before I received my soup. In addition, the waitress didn't check on us and we had to ask for a water refill: 2 Stars. I would come back and try some other plates, but I won't order the siete mares again. The dish took too long, and the cost was too high for the amount of seafood. It really depends on what you order, so you may be disappointed but overall it is one of my go to places when I'm in the mood for a huge Chile Verde or Carne Asada burrito. You need to request cheese, sour cream and guac but both of these are amazing and well worth the $12 price tag. I've been coming here for year's but today I decided to try something new. I had the " camarones a la mexicana" and boy was it great. Plate came with beans and rice. Beans and rice were also good. My co-worker suggested that I give this local Mexican restaurant, which was near the Fruitvale BART station a try. The small restaurant has about a dozen tables and it was definitely a local place. A family of six was at one table and the rest of the patrons were locals. A true local Mexican restaurant. They have been around forever... they have the best wet burritos in town... matter fact they have the best wet burritos ever!!! Also they have the best salsa ever... they have good customer service and their restaurant is clean. I like how the kitchen is exposed to the public so you can see what's going on back there and makes you feel comfortable about how your meal is being prepared, it also gives it a very homei vibe. The only down fall is that the restaurant is a bit small. So all in all 4 caminos is a great spot to get some authentic Mexican food. Not a fancy place but great food. My sister and I decided to try this hole in the wall place one day because we pass by this place everyday going to the post office for our company. We called and asked what time they opened and they said 8am...I was like wow that works our for us. so, we ordered 2 Al Pastor Supper Burritos with crema and 2 aguas de horchata. Lady said be ready in 15 min. NOT bad. So i took my trip to the post office on 34th and when I got back order was ready. I think maybe the agua de horchata is a little pricy maybe only because I am use to this one spot we like and the large is very cheap like 2 bucks this place i think charges like 4 buck or so for a large. Still not bad. Anyway the burrito had a very good taste it was delish. The water was also very tasty. I like this place a lot. Maybe next time I will order something different to switch it up. I'm a huuuuge birria fan and get it everywhere I go if it's on the menu. Unfortunately here my plate happened to have a bit too much bone and fat, more than the actual meat itself so it definitely threw me off. The salsa was perfect, I love my birria salsa spicy so it gave the meat a great flavor (what meat was actually on my plate). Aside from the fact - service was great, the restaurant was full upon arrival but the waitress cleared up a table in less then 3 minutes sat us down and took our order. If they would just make sure the plates contained more meat rather than fat and bone I'd definitely up the review but as of now these 2 stars are for rice, beans, and service read more
