I was curious about this diner the other day when I passed it I came here today and tried it.And it didn't disappoint.I ended up getting the breakfast burrito which was filled with ham, sausage, bacon, potato n eggs n a side order of salsa Very yummy.I ended up bringing some of it home. The service here is awesome Plenty of parking as it has its own lot. I recommend this place

I have fallen in love with this local restaurant, from their donuts, specialized coffee and this delicious chicken fried steak. I love the welcoming environment including the chef coming out and talking story. Such a great place

Their "Iced Coffee" is literally brewed coffee poured into a cup of ice. It's watered down and priced high.

I'm not…read morea regular coffee drinker, but I was looking to get my iced brew fix and there aren't many options in town. You have to drive into Reno or Carson City to hit up a Starbucks or comparable coffee place. I heard from locals about The Roasting House. I saw pics of celebrities like Terrance Howard and Jeremy Renner sitting on the quaint little bar stools inside. Roasting House has officially entered the coffee chat room! On my first visit, I saw that the Iced Brew special was Carrot Cake. Um? Only my favorite cake! I had the best timing and hit the jackpot! Of course that's what I ordered. It was delicious! The decor is absolutely adorable. It's like a beautiful Victorian feel to it. It has beautiful furniture, pictures on the wall, and they have coffee, jewelry for sale and other items. Additionally, they roast their coffee beans on-site with a large vintage roasting machine towards the back of the shop. The place definitely has an elegant, antique-like ambience that fits perfectly with VC. They also serve various baked goods, bagel sandwiches and other breakfast items. You will have a great start to your day by coming here first. Service is impeccable and the staff is super friendly. As you go towards the rear of the shop, there is a beautiful patio that overlooks Virginia city and the streets below C Street. It's a perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast item. It's very peaceful with beautiful scenery and they've added some rustic patio furniture. I've been back a couple times and the prices are really good. I'm from the Bay Area and compared to where I'm from the prices are more than reasonable for coffee. This is a place not to be missed when you visit Virginia City!

I went for lunch and tried their 2 for $20 special, choosing the chilled celery soup and the Alpine sandwich. Both were delicious and full of flavor. My only suggestion for next time would be to ask them not to toast the focaccia. It was a little too hard to bite into, but aside from that, the sandwich was excellent. I also had the chance to try one of their meatballs with their house-made marinara sauce, and it was delicious. One of the things I really enjoyed about Madein is that almost everything on the menu is made in-house, with some ingredients sourced fresh from local producers. You can really taste the care that goes into the food. The service was wonderful as well. My server, Seirra, was very friendly and attentive. The owner, Shawn, was kind enough to come by and say hello and even walked me through some of the dinner specials. I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Marsha, who works there and was equally warm and welcoming. Overall, I had a great first experience at Madein and would definitely come back to try more of the menu--especially dinner!

This cute little Italian restaurant was recommended to us by one of my BF's coworkers, and while we can see the potential, it'll be a hard pass for us until they improve their kitchen pacing and service. We made a last minute reservation for Friday 6 pm (with the table being held until 7:45) and were seated promptly upon arrival. However, it took almost one hour and a half to get any of our dishes, and tables next to us were having similar issues, with one party only receiving half of their dishes (the other half wasn't entered into the kitchen queue correctly). We had to continuously check in with our server ourselves regarding our food, which was quite frustrating, although we appreciated how she ended up comping part of our bill. While we understand that she was quite frazzled and the restaurant was understaffed, I still think the restaurant would benefit from better staff training, especially during busy dinner rush hour. The food itself was hit and miss, but I was quite impressed by several of their seasonal items, which included a salad and lobster risotto (recommended to us by our server), and I hope they can incorporate it into their menu permanently. The squid ink pasta and crab linguine (also seasonal), however, were quite flavorless (and this is coming from a low sodium girly). Cocktails were alright as well, and I would recommend ordering from their wine menu instead, which includes several excellent Italian and local wine options.

I very easily could have brought my rating up to a solid 4 stars because the food I ordered this time around was delicious! I got their roast beef panini special with potato salad and their dalgona iced coffee. I also, tried a croissant and apple danish. All items exceeded my expectations compared to the previous breakfast items I had in previous visits. But, here's the kicker. The one star is due to CHASELIN'S/CHAS-LYNN'S (spelling) egregious customer service. From the moment we stepped in she greeted us with crossed arms and no smile. Right away, MAJOR ATTITUDE. She was very frank and short with us as if she didn't want to be bothered. She frankly directed us to the menus and spoke so fast as if she was just over having to repeat the same thing over and over to customers walking in. It took a while for my MIL and I to decide on what we wanted when a guy came in behind us. With the biggest attitude, she impatiently asks, "Are you guys ready?" We weren't. She goes, "Well, I'm gonna take care of this guy first." OK, fine. We stepped aside. We finally placed our order and I was curious to try their pastries. I asked CHASELIN (spelling) what pastries she recommended. With such an attitude she goes, "Well, do you like muffins? danishes?" As if I was wasting her time to answer my question. I told her, "Not muffins." She right away turned to the special board and read verbatim "We have an apple and cherry danish". I can read. I didn't need for her to read the board to me. I asked, "WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?" Her response, "Well, they're 2 different fruits, so it's really just preference. " REALLY??! NO SHIT they're 2 different fruits. My response, "OK, so you don't recommend anything. Got it." Both my husband and I are in the hospitality industry and we are very attuned to what excellent customer service is. My husband and I looked at each other with astonishment at how rude and impolite this girl was. It was evident she didn't want to be there and her attitude was completely uncalled for and just plain RUDE! With that attitude she needs to be in the back of the house, not the front. Whatever "at home issues" you're having, keep it at home! We have nothing to do with your personal problems. For the amount of money we spent on lunch $51+ for 2 ppl, not including the mimosas my husband purchased, I would expect even the most basic courteous customer service. TO THE OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS: I highly recommend training or re-training your employees on basic customer service or filter out your bad apples. It's not a good look for you.
