I lived in the area for almost 4 years before finally stopping in for lunch one afternoon. Sort of a typical diner, popular with locals. Breakfast all day, lunch and dinner specials and a straight forward menu. Prices are very reasonable, which is rare to find in a restaurant on the beach. I had a shrimp burger, fries and homemade clam chowder -- all for about $7. I will be back, hopefully sitting on a barstool sipping a coffee and reading the paper, because that's what a diner regular does, right? :-) read more

Yikes. I love diners, but this place is a nightmare. First of all, I suppose the ugly additions happened in order to make room because business was booming? Regardless, it once was one of those beloved tin diners & it' a shame they couldn't have worked with that design instead of boarding up around it & making it look generic and cheap. As far as the food was concerned, I ordered a waffle with blueberries. The waitress admitted that the blueberries were actually blueberry pie filling & I would be better off with strawberries because they were fresh. I took her word and when the waffle arrived, the strawberries were shriveled and freezer burnt. I attempted to eat them, but they tasted like the plastic bag they came in. Unfortunately, their juice soaked into my waffle & made it taste like plastic too. DO NOT EAT HERE! The prices are ridiculous because it's a tourist destination & the food is so gross. read more

Quick breakfast spot with decent prices? This is the place. Short drive from our hotel left us looking for a breakfast other than fast food - saw this on the corner and decided to try it. Friendliest staff! Home fries were incredible. French toast and country ham were great. We told David working the register that we were down at the coast for our honeymoon and he gave us both hugs and peppermint patties. I rated this a 4 keeping in mind what it i;. A diner. A quick place to get a solid meal (There aren't many breakfast places on the island, esp. ones open in mid October). We had a party of 8 and were seated quickly, waited on very quickly and our food came out quickly and corrected (all of this while the place was completely packed). I had the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and sausage and then shared a stack of pancakes with my wife. Although the gravy was made from a mix, it had added fresh sausage and still had a good taste (not my made from scratch gravy, but again, for a diner, it was good) Biscuit was great, and my scrambled eggs were also flavorful (tasted like they were cooked on the same flat top as the sausage). Either the owner or manager (not sure) was very involved in seating customers, making sure everything was running smoothly, etc. Very friendly and involved, as a manager/owner should be. Best homemade hot sauce ever! We live in Houston and wish we could get it delivered down here on a weekly basis. I put a bottle of that amazing magic sauce on the table for a brunch when we got back and my family almost lost their shiz it was so good. Sadly a week after we got home from Atlantic Beach we finished the whole thing . Besides their homemade hot sauce the food is so good! Was so hungover the morning we went for breakfast and was cured at first bite! What's even better than the food is the weight staff so delightful. Your a fool to not try this place. read more

Best breakfast on the beach. After several days at other places, we repeated here. The wait staff remembered us. The food was good, cooked to order. The sausage was savory and very tasty. The waffle was good as well. My husband had the egg, grits, biscuit, bacon and was pleased. Will certainly dine here again for breakfast when in the area. Prices are very reasonable. read more

We had bfast here on a Saturday morning. Western Omelet was perfect, grits excellent, waffle... well how can you screw up waffles.. Prices were EXTREMELY reasonable, $19 plus tip for 2. We arrived just before the rush, but it appeared that the staff was keeping up. Sue, our waitress was beyond pleasant. The only comment I would make was that the coffee could have been a bit stronger. We will probably stop in again on our way home. read more

Good, basic diner fare. Very clean, with a 98.0 sanitation rating. Excellent service and prices. She took great care of our 7-top plus a high chair. Can't tell you about the food, but the service is terrible. Waited for 20 minutes, which usually wouldn't be a big deal, but watched 3 other groups (either same size or larger) get seated immediately upon walking in. I'm not sure why this happened but when I confronted the waitress she could not give me an explanation. My fiancé is African American and was ignored the entire time we were waiting. I don't want to use the word racist, but it was interesting that the waitress did not acknowledge her. read more

This is the place for friendly service and fantastic food at very reasonable prices. We were a party of four. One shrimp and grits that was rated "the best she has ever tasted" We also had the fried shrimp that was cooked perfect. The chowder was great and the flounder sandwich was wonderful. The only thing that was off was our timing. We are leaving for home soon so we won't have that many more times that we can go to this place but you can bet we will be there the next time we come back to the beach. I may be a bit spoiled from what I thought were run-of-the-mill diners in NYC and Long Island, but this place was definitely not worth $25 bucks. The service was fantastic, so this is not a complaint of service. The food was bland and the diner was dingy. The coffee was so unappealing I left and went to a local coffee shop for a new one. The pancakes were good. Overall, I'll not be returning and I would not recommend to others. Not even for the coffee. Again, service was fantastic and the people were amazing. Can not say enough good things about this place!!! We had breakfast and it was amazing. Staff are running around keeping everybody happy and full. Food was quick and tasted wonderful.
