I write to you now from the 4WP waiting room, where I continue to throw more money at 4 Wheel Parts to continually create my dream 4Runner. I've spent $12,000+ here in the past 6 weeks, and it's the most fun I've ever had spending money. I've gotten compliment after compliment on my "rig" as well as being initially offered $70,000 for my 9-year-old ride before the person realized it was just a decade old 4Runner souped up by 4 Wheel Parts Austin. Let me tell you what I appreciate most: service. You'll notice I haven't written a Yelp review in a decade, but these guys deserve it. If you've ever worked in business with a proper team dynamic, you'll recognize it too. But I'll put names to it, so you'll know who you're dealing with. -------------------------------------------------------- KIRK -------------------------------------------------------- This guy's the big deal manager and the first person I dealt with. I discussed what I wanted to do and asked if it was even possible with my setup. He helped me create a reality from my vague descriptions. He's helped to explain many things to me and has even advised me away from spending money in certain places both in-store and online that he thinks I would ultimately not be satisfied even though it would bring money in to 4WP (e.g. rock lights). I trust his recommendation as a result and have bought some latest and greatest items most wouldn't have known were about to come out and thus would've settled. -------------------------------------------------------- JOE -------------------------------------------------------- Joe is smart.... like, really smart. These guys are all so passionate about off-road vehicles that you'd think that's all there was to them. But I got to speak German with him, we shared recommendations for some of our favorite but lesser-known meals/restaurants in Austin. I only first chatted with him when my two-day install was going later into the evening. Once again the staff @ 4WP come through. My 2024 GMC 2500 HD had a major issue with the control arms ball joints that had gone out, on an aftermarket lift that was installed last year. They spoke with vendor & got replacement parts covered under the warranty. They kept me in loop whole time while truck in shop. Got it back and no more loud noises from undercarriage. I ended up ordering the one I wanted and he said it would be in on Monday and would call when it came in. Monday rolls around and Oscar called me to say it was in just as he said it would be. I came in a few days later to pick it up, he was helping another customer but he immediately recognized me. I went in for a simple tie rods and trac bar replacement because i had hurt my back and couldn't do the work myself. I finally was able to pick my jeep up on the third trip and a total of 8 weeks later after my first visit, diagnosis, and parts order. I get it, everything is back ordered and shipping delays yada yada yada but they didn't even order the right parts. Long story I don't even want to waste my time on but in the end the finally got my jeep back and they somehow managed to break my door lock switch. I went back inside to make the complaint and erroneously told the guy working that they broke my window switch (windows are below the AC controls), and while we were walking out he said, " on the drivers side door?". He knew. I would not recommend this place to anyone, look for a local smaller off road specialty shop or heck for tie rods just go to whatever mechanic you can trust if you can't do the work yourself. read more

Got my Toyota lifted and I literally cannot say enough good things about my experience. I went to the location in Austin and 10/10 all around. Firstly, I had the best and most helpful salesperson. Oscar spent over an hour with me answering questions and giving advice. He worked within my budget and the manager Kirk came out and was even helping me with making decisions on my tires. They were so patient and gave me a great deal. I picked my vehicle up today and everything looks AMAZING! If I could give 0 stars I would. 1) parts bought for one of my vehicles were used on another vehicle and they lied initially about it. 2) even giving updated info initially they never updated contact info. 3) was never informed parts came in. Had to go there in person initially and then had to babysit them to make sure there contract info was put in. 4) made an appointment for getting vehicle fixed for a certain time due to time constraints currently and 1.5 hrs later was not even touched. I understand sorry staffed but not shitty customer service. At least call the later appointment and say hey we are short staffed and running behind. 5) should I list more? read more

Unlimited online access to any product in the world is no replacement for being able to walk into a shop, talk to a knowledgeable service staff, and get what you want while feeling good about it. Are they busy? Yes. Will you have to wait your turn? Yes. Is that a reason to just go online? No way! Disappointed to learn they wouldn't stand by their work. Just charged me $150 bucks in labor to fix a bag they admitted they installed incorrectly and led to a leak. I asked if they'd make good in their bad install, answer came back no. But they did offer for free fixes in case they did it wrong THIS time, too. Hint to the GM: this was the wrong call, and if it happened to you, you'd probably feel as let down as I do. read more

The staff was friendly and very helpful with advising me on what the best parts were for my truck and what I want to do with it. Horrible service advisors and even worse technicians. I took my truck in for new struts and a lift kit. Their technician left a grease gun in my engine bay, which exploded everywhere. I initially thought my engine had exploded took my truck into the dealership and had to pay $250 just to find out that they left a grease gun inside my engine bay. After the dealership confirmed that 4wheelparts left the grease gun in my engine day I went back to them asking to get reimbursed at $250 plus for them to clean my engine bay and they continue to refuse to do so. On top of all this, my truck continues to squeak and the alignment is completely messed up from the lift kit they installed. Do not recommend coming here at all. This place is horrible. First, I just want to say that if anyone in Austin knows 4 Wheel Parts, you know that you may be on placed on hold for a minute to get an appointment. Due to the locations high client volume they are swamped routinely. I also know that they try to give you as much time as they can, however, let's face it they're always busy. I know that it may take a couple weeks to get in, but I know when I arrive I'm going to be taken care of. Clay Carpenter, with the Sales Team, specifically is my go to guy when I need help. He takes his time to answer my questions and he goes above and beyond to meet your needs, same day, if they're able to accommodate it. Vehicle repairs and installs on lifted trucks are expensive, but identifying a problem, and being able to rectify it during the same day, during a routine appointment is great IMHO. I'll be taking my vehicle to 4 Wheel parts for now on for tire purchases, oil changes, rotations. One stop shop period for routine lifted truck maintenance. read more

Just bad. Sales associate helped me order tires. Sounds good, right. No. When they arrive I go in to get them installed. 2 hours waiting later. Wrong size. That's okay, they'll offer helping resolve the issue. Nope, they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. Probably the shame of having incompetent staff. When I go to my truck, one tire is on backwards now, they are directional. I go back in, they'll "fix" it. I leave, steering wheel jitters all over the place. Did they dare not balance it after flipping it the right way? Bingo. I was done, I paid someone else to balance my tires. So I paid to fix a problem I didn't have before and lost a whole day. I had 4 wheel parts install new tires, and a front and rear bumper. The initial tire saga took forever and ultimately had to get a lift because the sales guy was wrong when he said these tires would fit. Also, they couldn't get the rear bumper to fit right. It was a complete clusterf**k. The facts of this are the subject of a different review. Anyway, I took the truck somewhere else to deal with tire sensor sensors. I mentioned that it was driving kind of funny (a slight shimmy). The other place just told me that the tires were completely out of balance - i.e. 4 wheel parts had not bothered to balance the tires when they installed them. They suck. Do not go here. read more

I had an appointment to have my tires balanced under the warranty that I purchased and ended up waiting for over 2 1/2 hours. This is not the first time I have had to wait for follow up repairs at the business. Don't even bother coming here, I came here cuz my buddy told me they did a good job on lifted trucks, I can't tell you if that's true or not but what I can tell you is that their lazy "technicians" don't want to touch your vehicle unless it's a newer truck or jeep, they won't even bother with your older trucks cuz it's to much work, came in here with my Silverado with and appointment and still waited 3 hours just for these people just to tell me that my front end was "shot" the same front end I rebuilt less than a year ago and they conveniently quoted me $2300 for repairs in order to do my alignment, these fuc***s will try to scam the s**t out of you cuz they have under qualified technicians, I spent $350 on oem parts and did it my self , I highly doubt they would've used anything other than shi**y autozone parts, overall don't waste your time or money here, clearly they want to get every single penny they can out of you read more

Everytime I called I was put on hold for 15 minutes or more. It wasn't until I finally told them I had a 10k budget to accessorize my gladiator I was given interest. I recently started to hear a sound by front axel and when I took it in to get it checked out they basically told me I needed to take it to the dealership since it was still under warranty. they did hear a noise but didn't want to look into it. when I took it to the dealer they said once anything is added that is aftermarket that the warranty is voided which is what I knew what was going to happen. I had mentioned this to the gentleman at 4wheel and he said nooooo they shouldn't do that just have them call us. For what? This location really needs to look into hiring people who are service driven and passionate about being there. They added all my parts that I ordered , but didn't want to look into it when there seemed to be a problem. Disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

A few years ago they lifted my Jeep along with new tires and wheels. They aren't the cheapest, they definitely aren't the fastest, but they are worth the time and money. I had a blow out today and needed a replacement tire along with having them ensure the tire I changed on the road was right and tight. They took me in and got everything taken care of. I had to wait a while (which I was totally fine with) and luckily they gave me full value of my blown tire towards the replacement (Pro Comp 35"-ers aren't cheap). They also pointed out my axle housing had shifted...and I just had two new axles replaced after a recent accident. Bottom line is they will take care of you. May not be as fast as you want it done and it may/may not be what you expect to be charged, but you will be happy you used them. Would be on the phone waiting for 10-15 minutes at a time, but in the store there's about 10 guys just standing around doing nothing. I had to keep calling for anyone to do anything, then finally went up to the store to get a refund and manager wasn't even professional. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I made an appointment a week in advance to get my 35" tires balanced on my Jeep and inquire about a steering kit installation. They charged me $150 to "look at it" and then the foreman decided he wasn't comfortable working on it and I was denied the balance after driving 45 minutes to get there after they assured me they would do it. Then they quoted me $2700!!! to do the entire steering and suspension with overpriced parts, then they would be comfortable with balancing the tires??? Unless you have a brand new Vehicle and want to spend thousands, they do not care about you. What a rip off and a waste of time. read more
