Beet salad on a bed of potatoes
Jon S.

That beet salad was great. Very quiet and pleasant dining experience. I also had the pork osso bucco and we shared a little dessert. An easy walk from the B&B we stayed in on Elm St.

Shrimp scampi with gluten free pasta.

Food and service are amazing! We came in December in the off season and no wait. I eat gluten free and there are so many options for me on the menu! We came twice during our stay in Maine; the waitress recognized us on the second visit and asked if we wanted "our" table. How cute. The duck was super good as well as every appetizer especially the fried artichoke hearts. Their desserts which are all gluten free are stellar!!! If you're in the area definitely try this place out.

Beet flatbread
Mallory D.

We split two entrees and had a glass of wine! The waiter was not super helpful when we asked questions but we think they were short staffed and he was helping out. The bolognese was good and a little sweet in flavor. The beet flatbread was the reason for the 5 stars. The flatbread was grilled and crispy thin, yellow and red beets with caramelized onions for a little sweetness, zest of orange for a nice acidic flavor and topped with goat cheese. I would go back just for the beet flatbread!!

Cool looking restaurant in a great area. Service was good. Would have liked to see more Italian offering vegetarian options on the menu.

White table cloth service. Servers were all excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. This place has the best fine dining experience in the mid-coast. Food was outstanding- every course. I did find the printed à la carte and dessert menus odd as they list the dishes' main ingredients but lack any preparation detail. So we found ourselves having to ask about several dishes before being able to make a selection. Maybe it is on purpose but it made me a bit uncomfortable to keep asking about preparation of the dishes throughout the courses. The only real negative for us is the same negative we had 10 years ago. We were seated in the porch area and I suspect they fill this area first as it has wonderful views of the Camden Hills. Both times we have been seated in there, there have been loud, fairly obnoxious diners (#-bombs flying this last visit) in the room with us. Complete turn off but nothing the restaurant can do about it. We will try Natalie's again but will forgo the porch dining for another room.

The chowder tasted of cream, the potatoes were soft and subtle and cooked and cut properly; the clams were fresh and the amount resting the just not enough range. During the first part of our visit, we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was friendly, we enjoyed meeting other patrons, including several Canadian Army veterans on a motorcycle tour, and the service from the initial bartender was excellent. We appreciated being allowed to play a complimentary game of pool. Unfortunately, the experience changed dramatically after the bartending shift change. From that point on, we felt unwelcome and believed staff chose to side with a small group of patrons during a disagreement rather than taking the time to understand the situation. Ultimately, we were asked to leave, which came as a complete surprise and left us feeling embarrassed and disappointed. What makes this especially frustrating is that we had spent a significant amount of money at the establishment and had been enjoying ourselves without issue for most of the evening. the way the situation was handled left us feeling dismissed and unfairly treated. Based on this experience, I would not return and don't recommend this establishment to other visitors.

The flavor was exceptional and I savored every bite. For my main I got their gnocchi dish. These were by far the lightest most fluffy gnocchi I have ever experienced. For desert I got a lemon cake that had a drizzle in the sponge to make sure it stayed moist and delicious. I would happily eat anything that comes out of this kitchen. Service: All of their wait staff was exceptional. They were courteous and went the extra mile to make dinner a fine dining experience. The only weak point was their hostess. I had a reservation but still had to wait ~15 minutes for a table after waiting ~5 minutes for the hostess to show up in the first place. Once the hostess was working again she regularly brushed past customers waiting in their overfilled waiting area and glared at people in her way. I understand her frustration but that is not an excuse to glare at customers. Ambiance: The waiting area was cramped but once we were seated the tables were spaced out enough that it didn't feel congested. There were lots of little nooks and crannies so each table had their own little area.

Kept checking menus and reviews and most places were pizza joints with some pasta so we passed. Today we found ports of Italy... the menu screams authentic and the food followed through with that claim. Service was impeccable and our waiter spoke Italian (and English). Oh and they have lobster ravioli which looked great but we passed !! Great place !

This year made us realize that this is our last year. It was our 25th and we were looking forward to it. It started with the hostess who was annoyed that we showed up 7 minutes early for our reservation and told us they were running on time and to take a walk in the garden and come back at the exact time of our reservation. Which we did. We were seated by the manager who seemed impatient. He handed us the menus and walked off. A detail I didn't consider until I noticed that the other manger handed the menus and went over some drink specials and menu specials. Our server was nice in the beginning although seemingly distracted. We found out a little later they had a wedding party upstairs and the kitchen was behind. We didn't mind because we were there for the experience as much as the food. However as the night rolled on and things took longer and longer, the staff seemed more and more annoyed with us for ordering our meal. By the end of the meal, our server asked if we wanted a cheese or dessert service and seemed very annoyed when we said yes. At this point we were 2 1/2 hours in and they wanted us out. However, we were still there because it had taken so long for our service and food. In the end we split a strawberry shortcake, which was very good, I had a coffee, and we got out of there. They wanted us out and we didn't want to stay any more. What is sad is we have been celebrating our anniversary for 20 years there as often as we can and this, our 25th was the worse experience we have ever had and we won't return. It broke our hearts.
