From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed at Good Medicine Lodge. After flying into…read moreBozeman and making the 5-hour drive to Whitefish, we arrived later than expected--but the self-check-in instructions were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. Shayla, our host, texted us ahead of time to make sure we were all set for a smooth check-in. That small gesture alone made us feel genuinely cared for. Each day, Shayla prepared the most delicious homemade baked goods, which made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Since we planned to head to Glacier National Park early each day, she kindly packed to-go breakfasts for us--always thoughtful, fresh, and satisfying. On the mornings we stayed in, she served beautiful homemade breakfasts that were just as delicious. The extra touches throughout the lodge made our stay even more special--the self-serve charcuterie, fresh fruit, and beverages were such a nice bonus. The lodge itself was peaceful and quiet, which we really appreciated. We stayed for five nights and can confidently say this was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. Thank you, Good Medicine Lodge, for such a memorable experience!

As we stepped through the front door, we were greeted by a garden full of blooming peonies--such a lovely and welcoming touch. The house was immaculate, and everything was clearly labeled with helpful instructions. Whether you were heading out for a day in Glacier National Park or relaxing at the lodge, anything you could need was available--maps, bear spray, sunscreen, coolers, even wine and snacks for the trail. There were also cool drinks, water, and freshly baked goods waiting for us each evening--such thoughtful hospitality. Our bedroom was not the largest room in the lodge, but very comfortable. After long hikes in the park, we looked forward to soaking in the hot tub each evening. The backyard had BBQs, lawn games, and picnic tables--it would be a perfect place for a family reunion or even a small wedding. Kayla, our hostess, couldn't have been more helpful. She was warm, engaging, and full of great suggestions for exploring Glacier. She and her coworker Meghan prepared the most delicious breakfasts each morning--beautifully presented and thoughtfully tailored to our dietary needs. This place is truly a treasure. The owners are lucky to have Kayla and Meghan running the lodge with such heart and care. If you're visiting Whitefish, I highly recommend staying at Good Medicine Lodge.

The hotel itself is a 2 star experience but once you factor in staff services it's a 1 star. The remodel was half hearted and I'll bullet point all my problems with this one night stay in an Executive Room. - Parking fee is $12, website says $10 - Room descriptions inaccurate including bed types and number of TVs. - Odd dirty smell in room and bathroom - No clock, drapes, iron or board, coffee pot, safe, closet, dresser or any type of hanging racking for clothes in room. - Shower floor not level, resulting in water pooling to one corner where it stayed all night. This might explain odd, dirty smell. - Moth inside sheets of king bed, discovered at bed time after pulling sheets back. - No sheets on sofa bed or anywhere in room. Asked front desk for sheets when headed out for dinner, they offered to have housekeeping put sheets on but we declined and asked to get them upon my return. Housekeeping entered room anyway even with do not disturb on door. - TV didn't work nor did telephone when I tried calling down for tech support. - Walk downstairs to ask about TV, given instructions how to reset box but even that didn't work. Asked to move rooms but they were booked up. When I asked for discount, they offered $25 off a $350 rate. I asked for larger discount but was told manager must approve and they'd follow up with me but no one did and no discount provided at all. Later front desk clerk came to room, unplugged and plugged in new cords to get TV working. - Thin walls and windows, heard traffic and drunks leaving the bar across street late into the night and if it's a Wednesday morning you'll hear a dump truck at 6:20am. Through all this never even an apology from any staffer.

Chris made sure we were comfortable, checked in with us morning and evening, and gave us suggestions on places to go, what to know from a local perspective and how best to get there. He is so knowledgeable about the history, culture, terrain and everything you need to know. The accommodations were comfortable, with a large closet to put all our stuff. We could not believe the French press coffee brought to our room each morning at the time of our choosing (really?!!) and then the local offerings for breakfast!! The location is wonderful bc it's only 20 minutes from the West Glacier park entrance and tons of nearby hiking as well as the towns of Whitefish and Kalispell which have tons of shopping, dining, and adventure in winter and summer. It's also close to some things in the smaller town of Columbia where it is located like Montana Coffee Traders which you can actually just walk to from the hotel and Cowgirl coffee. There are also gas stations and other shops nearby if you need a few things. The gal at check-in was amazing and kind and had our room ready for us with my third floor request checked in despite our super late check-in (11pm) and they were always happy and greeted us kindly when we came and went. There is a small (2 washers and 2 dryers) laundry room on the 2nd floor where you can wash your clothes. They're old and only have like 2 settings but if your things are funky after long hikes like ours, it's a lifesaver. They sell detergent and dryer sheets in a pack for $2 at the lobby. Prices are extremely fair for this nearby location to the park and for the amenities provided and size of the room. Note: I took a star away bc we stayed four days and they absolutely refused to do a room refresh. At day two I asked to have towels and trash taken care of and was told that we could put the trash outside the room and they would leave fresh towels in a shopping bag by our door. What?! I've been traveling a lot and they're milking the COVID thing for all it is worth. 4 days in a hotel is a long time to have no cleaning whatsoever. I understand every other day, or upon request, but that was a bit much and I didn't like it. Hire the staff, go back to cleaning rooms. We spent two weeks on this trip and this was the only hotel that pulled this crap.

It is an airport hotel, but you would never guess it. It is about a three minute drive from the hotel. Don't worry about the airplane noise. You can't hear anything. The hotel is so charming and cute. The staff is excellent. They picked us up from the airport at midnight. All you have to do is call them and they show up within a few minutes. They also can drop you off.. Check in was super easy and fast. When we were dropped off they already had our keys and paperwork ready and all we had to do was sign. The room: clean. Spacious. We had a double bed. The room was equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. The restroom was big. Toiletries include a shampoo conditioner and lotion. The towels were super soft. The water pressure was poor, but manageable. The AC worked well. There was always hot water. Extras: they have coffee and tea in the lobby 24/7. They also had cookies. They have a laundry room and it cost $2.25 to use the washer and/or dryer. The pool is inside and there is a small slide. They also have a small gym. Breakfast. Continental. You can expect hot food selections such as scrambled eggs, potatoes, a protein, oatmeal, and waffles. Cold selections include cereal and yogurt. The only thing I noticed is that they don't replenish some of the items. For example, they ran out of oatmeal and when we asked if they could make more, they said that they could give us instant instead. Which is OK. They also have fresh fruit. Parking is free onsite.
