Quality control needs improvement at this Happy Lemon location. I really dislike the opaque cups that some boba shops use, because you cannot see what the drink looks like and it opens you up to not noticing receiving the incorrect drink until you have left the shop. Happy Lemon was still using transparent cups last year, in 2024. Now I notice they are using opaque cups this year, in 2025. Why the change? Is it to better show the branding or advertising on the cup? On April 2, 2025 around 5pm, I ordered a "D13 Okinawa Roasted Milk Tea w/ Boba" ($7). This drink includes boba in it (see photo of menu). What I received was a drink in an opaque cup (see photo). I couldn't immediately notice that they forgot to add the boba to the cup before walking out of the shop. I only discovered the error after I returned home, poked the straw through the lid and took my first sip. This was incredibly disappointing and it was not worth making the trip back to the store to have them fix this. The shop is small with a little seating inside. No restrooms. Our kumquat lemon green tea with 25% sugar was bitter, but this establishment had no problem upping the sugar to 50% even after we drank like 1/4 of it. They even topped off with more tea. How can you not give this place top rating? We also enjoyed their bubble waffles. It's not overly sweet which is perfect for my picky kids. I stopped by once because I didn't feel like sitting in traffic. This location is a little bit smaller with a couple tables and a few chairs for a window seat. It is very clean and organized. They didn't have any other patrons in there at the time that I came in. They had a couple mobile order pickups/takeaway orders though. The service was really quick: I didn't have a long wait for my boba. I ordered the Taro milk tea with puff cream and boba. It was pretty good. It wasn't the best, but it was pretty good. I like Happy Lemon's tea, and they have some of the best cheese cream in my opinion. However, we've repeatedly had poor service at this location in particular, so I'm not sure if we'll be coming back. (Fool me twice..) It's disappointing, because this plaza is a great location, but we'd rather visit any of the other numerous tea shops here that have better service. For some reason, the workers here won't announce when your order is ready, so you need to stay inside and pester them about it. I get it with 25% sugar and 50% ice and find it to have the right about of sweetness/tartness. This location also makes the best bubble waffles! Nice and crispy on the outside, fluffy and tasty on the inside. Other locations fall short in undercooking it... I believe they only make bubble waffles on the weekend (and holidays). There's a tv screen that shows how long you've been waiting and the other orders that are ahead of you. When your drink is done, the worker will announce your number, you bring up your number token, and the employee updates the status of your order to complete. The screen then repopulates to show the next order in line. We waited around 5 mins for our drinks. My SO ordered a large A4 Oolong tea with salted cheese and added boba with regular sugar and ice. The oolong tea and salted cheese pairing is fantastic. The bitterness of tea and the saltedness of the cheese is unique. The boba didn't quite add to the flavors in my opinion. I ordered the A7 Matcha with Tiramisu salted cheese with regular sugar and ice, no additional toppings. I love match for its bitter taste. The tiramisu salted cheese was sweet and made the drink into a tasty, chocolatey dessert. Unfortunately, I don't think this works as well for my tastebuds. While delicious, the matcha and salted cheese made my throat quite dry after consuming it. Solid location but with Ten Ren open, not my first option anymore. The restroom is almost always out of order (later in the day at least), so even if you wanted to sit down for a bit (seating is the one thing I wish Ten Ren had) you might still need to find an alternative restroom. Other than that, if you like the drinks they have it's good. I'm not a salted cheese tea fan but I like their tiramisu cheese drinks (like making your drink into a chocolate cheesecake!). Lemon slushies are good but for all their slushie options, you can't adjust the sweetness. Bummer. They also have new drinks now and again which is can be hit and miss (yes to grapefruit slushie, no to the matcha avocado slush). For me, this is a solid 3.5 stars. read more

I think it's been around since at least mid-2017 so if they can pass the terrible 2s which it looks like they will, then congrats Happy Lemon for beating the curse of this location! I typically order D1, D2, D5, or D7. I also get 25% sweetness and ice. Happy Lemon is great overall with their branding, service, and options. I get scared trying new boba joints these days for 3 reasons: 1) tea-flavored water; 2) super sweet drinks; 3) Super size only.
