Such a great little bagel spot! we'll definitely be back! The food was the highlight of our visit. I had an egg sandwich with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese had just the right kick without overpowering the sandwich. We also all tried the chicken club with avocado spread, and that was just as good, fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced, and super satisfying. The coffee was the only thing that didn't fully stand out. We ordered espresso drinks, and while they weren't bad, they were a bit on the bland side. A little extra milk and sugar helped bring it together, though. What really made the experience even better was how clean everything was and how carefully our food was prepared. This business recently opened, and I think may be working out some kinks still but overall it was a good experience. The Sunflower Latte was good, and The Lox was truly delicious. Would definitely order that again. The other bagel pictured is the everything bagel with garlic herb spread and was tasty. Plenty of seating and an attached outdoor patio which is nice. I loved all of the live plants. I wish staff had been a little friendlier, but also understand that it's stressful opening a new shop and getting used to the flow. Stopped by 42nd Coffee and Bagel recently to check it out. It was pretty busy when I arrived, which is usually a good sign. Service was okay -- nothing particularly memorable, but things moved along. I ordered the Cali Bagel and an Americano. Both were just alright. The bagel was decent but not something I'd personally order again, and the Americano was a bit on the mediocre side for my taste. Some good tunes would liven up the atmosphere and add some extra vibes. Not bad, just not standout. One thing this place definitely has going for it is the location. It's right next to the Metrolink station, which makes it a convenient stop for commuters or anyone looking to grab a quick coffee, bagel, or wrap before catching the train. Wanted to try this new bagel place for awhile. They didn't disappoint at all. Greeted upon entering. Nice big menu with different sandwiches and coffee drinks. Bagel bins were all stocked and labeled. Ordered The Lox on an Everything bagel with no tomato along with a Cold Brew. Cold Brew was perfect. Ice cold and a really smooth flavor. The service was incredible! They happily answered all my questions about safe food allergy practices. I was a little concerned about the bear claws that had almonds on them being above the bagels so they offered to bake a new one fresh. Only took 12 minutes! Makes such a difference to feel cared for and not like a burden. I also ordered a jalapeño egg sandwich with avocado and bacon for my hubs which was incredibly stuffed with ingredients and flavor. My husband and I were looking for a new bagel spot on a Sunday morning and decided to try this place since it recently opened. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, which was nice. The menu was a little difficult to read because it had a reflective, almost mirror-like finish, so you could see your reflection while trying to look at it. The staff was great though and answered all of our questions about the drinks. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk--the color and taste were both really good. My husband got a flat white and was very happy with it. For food, I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and got the caprese sandwich with added bacon for some protein. It was good, but I think I'd try something different next time. My husband got an eggwich with sausage, which was really yummy. We also tried a spinach, kale, and feta danish. The coffee is kind of strong for me, and the bagel is good. I love the sweet from red onion combined with cream cheese, salmon. Also, I like they give a piece of lemon which can add extra favor. I would say I am really satisfied at food. Why I gave four stars but five. The reason may kind of personal because I would like people wear a glove to prepare the food since it open kitchen (kind of) and I can see that . It was disappointing to wait in line, get all the way to the register, order two pastry items, only to watch both of them be pulled for a mobile order while I was ordering. Cashier looks to their left, "Who are those for?" Then told, sorry, they just sold out. So I figured I'd go for the "Turkey Bagel Sandwich", again, "No Turkey, sorry." The front counter and kitchen/back-of-house need better communication regarding inventory and low-stock items so customers know what's actually available before placing their orders. Being told something is unavailable only after you've already ordered and reached the register makes for a frustrating experience. Better communication and real-time inventory updates would create a much smoother customer experience. There should also be a somewhat steady amount of "back stock" or "timing" on these pastries as they begin to get low on inventory. Need to find the average on how many of these pastries are sold so they know how much to make for the day. Top it all off, I got my substitute pastries, bagel I ordered, missing had to go back to the counter and have them pull my order up to see I was missing a plain bagel. My wife loves the claremont location. We were excited for this opening. We went in to one giant dud. The place looks nice. It was 10am and they were completely out of plain bagels. Their menu is different than Claremonts. The girl helping us was very nice. We figured out together how to get my wife's favorite sandwich from Claremont . They then hit us with the big zinger! No plain bagels. We walked out with our tail between our legs. So our first visit was our last visit. Wish you were like your sister location. its not that far. We will make the trip. read more

Grossed out. I was excited to see this location open since we have previously visited the Claremont location (a bit pricey but reliably good). Yesterday we visited around 9am and it was very busy but it doesn't appear that their system is totally up and running yet. Took over 30 mins for two bagels, meanwhile the staff is squeezing past each other, making coffee orders that have already been served, it's messy. I noticed an older woman helping make orders and while everyone else had gloves on, she had our bagel in the palm of her bare hand. Then she proceeded to wipe the excess spread off the bagel with a used, stained, wet towel laying by the sink before handing it to me. She used this same towel to rub her hands on before proceeding with the next order. Not one to send food back, but I couldn't accept this. The (gloved) gentleman behind the counter was kind enough to give me a new bagel with the spread to do myself. That was GROSS! I don't always leave reviews, but I've been a fan of 42nd Street Bagel since the 90s and really want this location to thrive. A few issues with my visit today: I ordered the lox on an everything bagel. It was the last everything bagel, and I watched the cashier pass it to the employee making the food. About 10 minutes later they called my name and told me I needed to choose another bagel because they had given mine to someone else. I also made the mistake of not checking my order before leaving. When I got to work, I realized they didn't use the chive cream cheese and they forgot the capers. I also noticed they were out of cheese bagels and, clearly, everything bagels. Hopefully they'll be able to adjust their batches so more people can enjoy those. Another small observation: there is currently a supply shelf out in the restaurant area. I'm guessing this will eventually be relocated once everything is fully set up. Overall, the staff was very friendly and the location couldn't be more convenient. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else. I'm also hoping the tuna salad from the Claremont location is the same recipe! read more

While waiting to order two gentalman were behind her. Finally, I nice man came ant took our order. My husband enjoyed is plain bagel with nothing on it. The cinnamon bun was ok nothing worth reordering. After a bit of a wait my sandwich finally came out. The everything bagel was too salty and it had a very small amount of tuna that was dry.
