Such a great little bagel spot! we'll definitely be back! The food was the highlight of our visit. I had an egg sandwich with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese had just the right kick without overpowering the sandwich. We also all tried the chicken club with avocado spread, and that was just as good, fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced, and super satisfying. The coffee was the only thing that didn't fully stand out. We ordered espresso drinks, and while they weren't bad, they were a bit on the bland side. A little extra milk and sugar helped bring it together, though. What really made the experience even better was how clean everything was and how carefully our food was prepared. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Overall, a great spot for fresh, tasty sandwiches in a welcoming environment!

This business recently opened, and I think may be working out some kinks still but overall it was a good experience. The Sunflower Latte was good, and The Lox was truly delicious. Would definitely order that again. The other bagel pictured is the everything bagel with garlic herb spread and was tasty. Plenty of seating and an attached outdoor patio which is nice. I loved all of the live plants. I wish staff had been a little friendlier, but also understand that it's stressful opening a new shop and getting used to the flow. Glad to have this business in Upland and will definitely try it again.

Stopped by 42nd Coffee and Bagel recently to check it out. It was pretty busy when I arrived, which is usually a good sign. Service was okay -- nothing particularly memorable, but things moved along. I ordered the Cali Bagel and an Americano. Both were just alright. The bagel was decent but not something I'd personally order again, and the Americano was a bit on the mediocre side for my taste. Some good tunes would liven up the atmosphere and add some extra vibes. Not bad, just not standout. One thing this place definitely has going for it is the location. It's right next to the Metrolink station, which makes it a convenient stop for commuters or anyone looking to grab a quick coffee, bagel, or wrap before catching the train. Overall, I'm giving it 3 stars. It's not a bad stop if you're nearby or commuting, but it didn't leave enough of an impression for me to go out of my way to return.

Wanted to try this new bagel place for awhile. They didn't disappoint at all. Greeted upon entering. Nice big menu with different sandwiches and coffee drinks. Bagel bins were all stocked and labeled. Ordered The Lox on an Everything bagel with no tomato along with a Cold Brew. Cold Brew was perfect. Ice cold and a really smooth flavor. The Bagel was toasted well. Full of lox pickled onions capers and just the right amount of cream cheese. Presentation was beautiful. Definitely a new place to enjoy for bagels and Cold Brew. Music was chill and experience was really good.

My second time here, and the bagels are great! I love the variety of flavors of the bagels and the spreads. Service is friendly and it seems like a cute place to hang out and enjoy your food. However, as I was waiting for my bagel I saw a cockroach crawling on the floor which is gross but I overlooked it. Until I was telling my bf about it and then out of nowhere I feel something on me and the disgusting cockroach I just saw was on my shirt safe to say I will never come back bc I'm traumatized now and the bagels aren't worth it to me

Nice indoor plants for calm ambiance

The service was incredible! They happily answered all my questions about safe food allergy practices. I was a little concerned about the bear claws that had almonds on them being above the bagels so they offered to bake a new one fresh. Only took 12 minutes! Makes such a difference to feel cared for and not like a burden. I also ordered a jalapeño egg sandwich with avocado and bacon for my hubs which was incredibly stuffed with ingredients and flavor. The bagels were tender, chewy, and still warm. Check this place out! I plan to try the coffee next time I come.

My husband and I were looking for a new bagel spot on a Sunday morning and decided to try this place since it recently opened. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, which was nice. The menu was a little difficult to read because it had a reflective, almost mirror-like finish, so you could see your reflection while trying to look at it. The staff was great though and answered all of our questions about the drinks. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk--the color and taste were both really good. My husband got a flat white and was very happy with it. For food, I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and got the caprese sandwich with added bacon for some protein. It was good, but I think I'd try something different next time. My husband got an eggwich with sausage, which was really yummy. We also tried a spinach, kale, and feta danish. It was a little on the cheesy side, but still delicious. I would order this again. Overall, the service was friendly, the drinks were very good, and the food was solid. The ambiance was comfortable with plenty of seating. We would definitely come back!

I will expect some smile from staffs, but 8 AM in the morning. I totally understand that. So let's be appreciate people who made the breakfast Got the cold brew and the Lox with onion cheese bagel. The coffee is kind of strong for me, and the bagel is good. I love the sweet from red onion combined with cream cheese, salmon. Also, I like they give a piece of lemon which can add extra favor. I would say I am really satisfied at food. Why I gave four stars but five. The reason may kind of personal because I would like people wear a glove to prepare the food since it open kitchen (kind of) and I can see that . Nothing wrong with the taste, just don't like someone keep touching with bare hand and those foods are raw. Updated: they wear gloves now. They got the last star.

burnt toasted bagel with thinned out cream cheese and crumbs from some unknown source.
    Marla W.

I try not to post negative reviews but the food was below subpar. Recently the bagel recipe must have changed. Not chewy NY style- more like Vons bread style. Cream cheese was thinned out and had crumbs from something mixed in. They served us 2 burned toasted bagels. I guess I'll be looking elsewhere.

The Lox bagel is a work of culinary art: it's extremely delicious and beautiful too! Today I ordered a Lavender latte. I often order lavender lattes at coffee shops, but this is the best one I've had in my recent memory. So yummy! It's so nice to have 42nd Street Bagel back in Upland! The downtown location, right me next to the train tracks is turning in to a favorite breakfast spot for us.

delicious bagel & completely loaded!! They did not skimp on the chicken, avocado or bacon! employees are always super welcoming and sweet. Def worth the visit!

    caprese bagel and lox bagel

The bagels were pretty yummy, we went a little later in the day and the bagel options were pretty limited. I got the caprese bagel which was really good and filling and my friend got the lox bagel which we also recommend! We got 2 iced lattes and they were both just okay. The service was okay, the staff seemed friendly and our food came out relatively fast.

I knew I wanted a lox bagel and the young gentleman at the counter helped me with the vietnamese ice coffee which I THINK he recommended caramel? or maybe it was vanilla. Either way, it was superb. The interior is small but that's no worries for me, I enjoyed my breakfast at home. I appreciated that the pickle was wrapped separately. I love pickles but I don't want pickle juice infiltrating my bagel. Portions were solid and well balanced. The bagel itself was soft and crunchy and bit through without fuss. You know when you bite a bagel and it holds back? Not here. Thank you guys!! Next time I'm around, I'll be making sure to stop in.

ONE STAR** VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE REVIEW ONLY…read more I'm giving 5th Ave Bagelry five stars because I don't like bringing down the rating of a small business. However, I want to be very clear that THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY ABOUT THE VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE. If I were rating the Vietnamese iced coffee itself, unfortunately, I would give it 1 star. It's advertised as Vietnamese iced coffee, but what I received tasted like a regular iced coffee--watery, mild, and lacking the strong, bold, rich, almost chocolatey flavor you expect from a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee. Honestly, it wasn't much different from an iced coffee you could pick up at a gas station. The small ice was correct and appreciated, but unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there. I really don't think this particular drink should be called Vietnamese iced coffee because it sets an expectation that the drink simply doesn't deliver. Again, this isn't a review of the business, food, or service--ONLY THE VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE. I just wanted to give other Vietnamese coffee lovers a heads-up so they know what to expect before ordering it.

It's not that much of a biggie as long as they have quality bagels and have friendly service. The vibe here is like a small neighborhood spot. Just a fun, visually appealing bagel (FYI - the colors do not change the flavors, so it's essentially a plain bagel). I also got a container of their chives schmear or cream cheese because I had a bunch of bagels in my fridge at home. Both the bagel and the different cream cheeses were great. The folks working here are just really friendly, so this is one of those places that I love supporting. I ordered two sesame bagels, toasted, with cream cheese on the side, and two everything bagels, toasted, with cream cheese on them. When the employee took my order, she repeated it back correctly as two sesame bagels and two everything bagels. However, when I received my order and checked it before leaving, I discovered that I had only been given two sesame bagels and one everything bagel. When I politely asked about the missing everything bagel, the employee insisted that I had only ordered one. She also refused to provide her name when asked. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I was required to pay again for the missing bagel. The dismissive attitude and lack of customer service were disappointing. As a former New Yorker, I was equally disappointed with the bagels themselves. The restaurant promotes a New York-style bagel experience, but these bagels did not resemble the authentic New York bagels I grew up eating. They lacked the characteristic chew, texture, and flavor that make New York bagels famous. The bagels were also barely toasted. Rather than having a crisp exterior and warm center, they seemed only lightly warmed. A properly toasted bagel should have some crunch and color, and these simply did not. Mistakes happen in every restaurant, but how those mistakes are handled is what matters. My recommendation to future customers is to carefully inspect their order before leaving the counter. Unfortunately, based on this experience, both the customer service and product quality fell well below expectations.
