So, let's start from the beginning...we were looking for something close that had karaoke . This popped up to be the closest. We walk in and it is a small bar with two pool tables and one bartender and about 8-10 people... top on this quaint building. Being from out of state we didn't know where to go or what we were going to find. Immediately we made assumptions that we wouldn't have a good time, ordered a round of drinks and starting looking for the next dive. One of us went ahead and put in a song request, while we looked online. The 'frequenters' welcomed us, drinks were affordable, a wide array of different music genres were represented. Needless to say, we didn't leave, had to get a uber to take us to our place. The only negative... no snack food. Just a few bags of chips were there, but no bar snack food. I've been a loyal patron of the 44 since 2006. I've met many great people over the years. It was "my spot" always, no questions! The last time I was there a new bartender was working, the head managers niece, Chloe. I was on a date, the gentleman I was with bought me a drink, not noticing I had an almost full one already. Chloe took it upon herself to throw away my, almost full drink. When I realized what had happened I asked her why she threw my drink away. She stated it was because he bought me another one, so she thought something must've been wrong with the bottled drink I had just bought, I had only taken a couple drinks. I told her that's ridiculous! You don't throw away a full drink, if anything she should have put one on the board for me. She made it clear she not going to do anything to try and rectify the situation. I was persistent. She threw the money on the bar at the gentleman, with whom I was on a date. Then the rest of the night she shot me dirty looks,I heard her actually talking negatively about this situation and us. As if that wasn't bad enough, it was like pulling teeth to get her to stop flirting at the other end of the bar, just to get a drink, for the rest of the night!!! I have personal knowledge that some of the bartenders are thieves and liars and have now been forced to look for a new place to hang out. If you know me that's pretty drastic, I loved the 44! I would have recommended it to anyone in the past, not now. Environments has changed, the drinks got more expensive, and weaker! I highly recommend finding another spot to hang out! The problem with the 44, Is that it's a dive bar the best dive bar in Boise I'm a karaoke singer and I love it our usual he sang from 6 to 8 or nine and then when all the trunks come in and think I can sing I leave but during the Covid shit it's been close and I miss it a lot but soon it'll be open again. read more

oh my gosh! SO MUCH FUN! 44 club has all week karaoke. There are plenty of song books to choose from and a REALLY good variety of songs. Paired with a DIVERSE group of people this place is totally awesome. Not upscale by any means, but divey & fun. I sang a few songs with my friend the night before her wedding & the bar tenders are awesome. She came around and checked on us constantly. They also had $2 bottles & 2$ shots. Walked in showed my ID, was accused of it being fake and expired, showed a second form of ID and then was told that was fake because the bartender clearly doesn't know anything about how to read an ID let alone probably read at all and the "bouncer" is literally just looking to start a fight. The 44 Club is a 7 days a week Karaoke bar that offers cheap drinks, friendly bouncers and waitresses, and lots and lots of mediocre-to-semi-decent singing. This bar was the final destination of our mini dive-bar crawl, and was by far the most entertaining. The crowd is a mix of both young and old, with birthday goers and loungers all together to belt-out whatever song tugs at their heart strings. Really nice atmosphere. The place was relaxed and comforting. I'm not a good singer but everyone was incredible supportive with their cheers. Drinks were priced on the cheap side, which was a plus. Only down side was an older couple in furs. The lady accused a patron of sexual assault when he just went for a high five. Got the poor guy thrown out for congratulating her on a song. Seriously. I use to love this bar. Bartenders are great the ladies are really nice to you and serve you quick. The karaoke DJ is horrible. If you give her weed or bribe her then you get to sing. Otherwise you sit for 2 hours. I'll be back when they change DJ's. read more

Mediocre bar food as expected. Great pours, limited taps... Worst kj i have even encountered. Epic failure on kj. I'd be personally ashamed... It was so unorganized and no concept of order or priorities not to mention she had no idea how to run the sound gear. Plus she was using youtube for most of the karaoke songs. Great little bar if you're interested in drinking some liquor and having a good time at Karaoke. They don't serve beer on tap, so it's going to be bottles or nothing. They do not accept cash at the bar, which is a tad inconvenient but they do have an ATM available which will charge you a $3 transaction fee, and your bank may charge an additional fee on top of that for using an "out of network" ATM. They have a small smoking patio out back, but absolutely no alcoholic beverages are allowed outside the building. read more

I just went to this bar. I had a lot of fun. They have a great song selection and their drinks are cheap. It's a no-frills kind of place. I asked the bartender about one of their beers that I had never heard of and she said, "uh... it's like, regular beer." O...K....??? Don't go here for the best selection of micro brews. The only real criticism that I have is the smoke. As a nonsmoker, I try and avoid smoke. Why risk the consequences of a vice that I don't even have? The amount of smoke in this bar is pretty disgusting. I was there for a few hours and not only do my clothes now stink like cigarettes, but literally, my eyes sting a bit. I'm not from around here, I was in Boise visiting family...I found this bar on yelp and thought I would try it out...when I forst pulled up I was a little nervous but I walked in the door and the people were so nice and welcoming!! They had a great karaoke song selection. The KJ was fantastic and there wasn't a lot of downtime between singers! The bartender was super funny and took really good care of me...and all the people in there were so sweet and just fun to hang out with! When I come back to Boise to visit...I will be returning to this bar!! read more
