Just moved from the east side to near Council crest so decided to check this spot out. Love that this place has a very local vibe, with lots of folks from the community that seem to be regulars. Really prompt and friendly service. Awesome Beers on tap! And the food was great! The grinder sandwich was awesome and the fries were perfectly salty and crispy. My husband got the turkey bacon, Swiss on toasted sourdough and loved it. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked really yummy! Definitely will be back. read more

This is a great place if you like the dive bar vibe. The bartender was really pleasant and was very accommodating and attentive to our 6 person group. I remember this being a good spot. Recent: Had a quick pint while waiting out an oil change next door. Only one other patron in there, pretty good service. Had a Lagunitas IPA, the music was kinda loud for that time of day. Past: Had a good breakfast here with some family. I have good memories of it being a solid meal. Me and my girlfriend stopped by the 45th Street pub. I've been there a few times before. Always seeing the same local drunks, while we were sitting at the Bar,  This guy comes up to a patron sitting at the bar who was talking to a friend it looked like and just having a beer minding his own business, Later found out that it was the owner of the bar that got in the customer's face , threatened  him and looked as if he was just going to beat the crap out of the customer, Well the customer didn't back down. Said some words to the owner, the owner ended up walking out of his own bar. How unprofessional that looked to everyone. There were about four or five customers there that totally supported the VICTIM. A lot of drama comes out of that bar every time I'm there. So unprofessional that was for a business owner to display that demeanor towards a paying customer, place is an old dive, The ceiling tiles are saturated with nicotine from decades of smoking in there when it was legal to smoke inside a business. I don't know if people know that nicotine stains on walls and ceilings still give off toxins, so they're actually harming their customers. The owner we noticed was slamming beers and playing the poker machine when all of a sudden got up and went right towards that customer for no reason. It was a confusing display that's for sure. My girlfriend said don't ever take me here again and I won't. I won't even be coming back. Patrons beware the 45th is polluted with unnecessary drama. And a bunch of local drunks that act is if they own the place. read more

For a neighborhood dive bar I guess it's all right. The pool tables are nice and free on Mondays and they have tator tots with a good quality ranch. The clientele however always seems to be older gentlemen who have seen a few beers throughout their days, if you know what I mean. The beer selection isn't the greatest though. I would like to see some local breweries on their tap. The staff has always been friendly and really welcoming! read more

This USED to be a good old red, white, and blue good dive bar. With decent pub food. Unfortunately, the new owners have gentrified it to make me want to vomit. Tonight's dialogue with the total of 4 people in the place (me, the "owner", the prepubescent inexperienced floozy behind the bar (F for short), and the black guy (bouncer? There was No one there to bounce; maybe he just blows glass): Me, "...and I'll have a Cabernet with that order..." F: "...who's The Cabernet for?", sternly, right out of the gate: NOT a hostess Me: "...me." F: "but you already have a drink" Me: "...how fast do you cook? I'll be done with half this BOTTLE of bud in no time" Owner "hey hey! Buddy! Nobody talks to my "F" that way!" Me: "what? Like an adult? This is the worst bar in Portland, possibly the entire state. Dingy, poor lighting, zero character and surly employees. I've been here a couple of times because it is walking distance from my house, but after my last experience I'll never be back. My cousin was visiting from Florida and the bartender refused to serve him, without giving an explanation. Neither of us had been drinking and had just walked in the door. We left confused, and went across the street to cactus jacks where we had a great time. It's no surprise that on Friday and Saturday night, when every other bar is full and lively, the parking lot of this horrible place is desolate and empty. Avoid like the plague read more

This place has some REALLY great burgers and fries, food in general, breakfast too! They have $10 bottomless mimosas on Sunday's and a game of pool is free! This place used to feel like a neighborhood bar. New owners take over and they started cutting out things that were a good draw. When I have stopped in the staff is usually tunnel visioned and hasn't learned to greet the patron, while they are servings others. Poker days cut in half, karaoke was a great edition, but they only have it on random weekends. As for the neighborhood bar feel, it no longer exists, instead you feel more like currency waiting to be handed over as a privilege to be there. read more

Please note, this review is for their food truck only. I ordered a western chicken bowl. (can be a wrap or a bowl). The serving was generous and the first few bites with the guacamole sauce were good. Then I started hitting "bland". A lot of white rice that tasted washed out. Some rice with flavor like a jasmine or brown rice would be a really nice option. And don't be afraid to season your chicken! As I said the portion was generous! I would like to see a "half order" for bowls, something smaller. I feel like I paid $9.00 for way more than I needed. I would rather pay $5 for half size.Would I eat there again, absolutely. It's a good solid lunch fare but next time I am splitting something with a coworker. read more

Greeted at the door by a "funny" patron who held the door for the woman in front of us and then said "eff you guys" and closed the door on us, laughing, before reopening and holding the door for us. It could have turned ugly and inside, similar rough around the edges people are nursing drinks and plopping money into lotto machines. But you know what -- for the kind of bar it is -- I loved it. Use to visit this place after work on Fridays and stopped going for about 3-4 months because we were being over charged for drinks. There was always inconsistency with prices for our usual drinks and getting charged for drinks we didn't even order. Our last visit was due to a coworker being accused of not paying her tab when in fact she did. She cashed out on a lottery win, tipped the girl VERY well and closed her tab. Decided to give it another go, and still had the same issue. When I asked for an itemized receipt, she refused to give me one and since my bill was higher than it should have been, I tipped accordingly. After being ridiculed by the bartender to other patrons, she walked over with an itemized receipt. Convenient right?? Which was incorrect, AGAIN. I was charged mid shelf for drinks that I didn't ask for and drinks I didn't order. First and foremost, I'm not required to tip so being pointed out like that for the entire bar to see was inappropriate and uncalled for. I tip well when I get good service and my server is friendly. If you won't give me an itemized receipt, then this is what happens. After reading reviews I'm not the only who has complained about being over charged. This is obviously an issue and hopefully the owner takes care of it. Sounds fishy to me. Makes you wonder where the extra money is going. read more
