    After dinner complementary war tea

Great experience and delicious food at one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in New Jersey! Service was friendly and responsive, although it was late afternoon so pretty empty inside. I'm sure it can get pretty busy during regular dinner hours. I usually have an aversion to lamb since it can be pretty gamey but the server convinced me that the Monti had only such a small amount that it would not really be noticeable. He was right, although the dumplings had probably too much dough for my taste. I would have preferred bigger dumplings with more ingredients inside rather than these tiny portions, but it was nonetheless tasty because of the sauce. The sautéed seafood platter was very good in a tomato base which wasn't too strong and just right. Very nice generous mixture of different seafood, including calamari, shrimp, and scallops. I'm not much of a bread eater, but the pita offering at the beginning was a nice touch although not very tasty even with the olive oil. The highlight for me was certainly the grilled octopus appetizer. Grilled just perfectly where it was not too chewy and with ample amounts. This was probably the best grilled octopus appetizer that I've ever had! My only issue with the restaurant was it's on a busy corner with very limited street parking. There is a parking lot in the rear, but it's reserved for other retail establishments and not this restaurant. I'm not sure if they would actually tow the vehicle but it's still a risk to find parking. Definitely will be coming back to try other menu options, but certainly will have the grilled octopus again!

Looking for a full meal, great service, and excellent pricing for lunch? Go to 460 Bistro in Orange,NJ. We went for lunch with 7 other church friends while in town at our district conference. We enjoyed a 3 course meal that was tasty and prepared with excellence. Soup, various dipping dishes, hot pita bread, and grilled salmon as the entree. The ambiance was nicely decorated in Mediterranean flair and clean. Service was great as the waiters attended to our every need. And did I mention the sangria! Great place to visit in NJ.

After dining at this restaurant three times for lunch, I have been consistently impressed. The culinary offerings are delightful and the portions are generous. The service is superb and the decor is lovely. I am eager to experience dinner here! 460 Bistro in West Orange is a top recommendation!

We stopped in on a whim last night. I called to see what the wait would be for 2 people, we were given seats at the bar which was fine with us but the hostess could not have been more accommodating to make sure we we seated at a table. The drinks were good. We ordered tzatziki (delicious), pita, falafel (amazing) and the grill sampler to share. The chicken was some of the tastiest and juiciest chicken I have ever had. The rice was perfect and seasoned phenomenally. I don't usually eat/ like lamb but these were perfect. The meatballs in the sampler were also quite good. We did not have dessert. The wait staff were all attentive (without hovering) and the hostess checks in on all tables. Overall a great dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

I enjoyed a nice dinner at 460 Bistro with my husband last weekend. This was our first time here after countless times saying to each other that we needed to try this place out. The inside of this corner restaurant is way more spacious than it appears from outside. We both commented on how we liked the decor of the place and liked the light fixtures. We were seated at a cozy booth by the host. All the staff at 460 Bistro were friendly. Food was very good. Pita bread was bought to our table, warm and soft. I ordered adana kebab and my husband ordered falafel. He loved his entree, saying that the hummus with his falafel was delicious. The vegetables with my kebab were fresh and tasty, and the rice was perfectly cooked. We rounded off our meal with an espresso and Turkish tea. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Recommended!

Finally stopped in for brunch. Very friendly staff and nicely renovated, very clean. We started with the trio of Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki and Hummus. All delicious and served with excellent hot puffy pitas. We both had the Lamb Shish, cooked perfectly served with veg, potatoes and rice pilaf. Very filling and tasty. Staff checked in on us as did the chef. We will definitely be back!

The pan seared calamari was naked which is more healthy than fried! The miso aioli made the big difference with the squid! It was different and delicious. The squid was tender and not chewy! For dinner I ordered the beef shish kebab. It came with two kebab. The beef tasted delicious with the Turkish style marinade. I think it would have been more worth if they added another kebab stick. The pistachio rice was good. It was a different taste with nice almonds slices. The only negative were the kebabs and rice were cold like the onion salad. And I loved the onion salad. We also ordered the salmon artichoke. The pan seared salmon was over cooked. They should have seared it in a shorter time. And it lacked seasoning believe it or not! The artichoke Brussels were a little on the burnt side. The spicy tomato sauce tasted more like ketchup. We will not be ordering this in the future. We also ordered a side of fries and Tahini brussels. The fries weee very tasty and I savored every piece. The Brussels were tasty as well. For dessert, we ordered rice pudding and baklavas. Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.

My husband was craving Mediterranean food and while researching options, we stumbled across Mandaloun. I have no doubt that sooner or later, getting a table here will be impossible because the food is that delicious. We didn't have a reservation but they still accommodated us with genuine hospitality. Our waiter, Marcelo, was exceptional, super attentive, warm, and went the extra mile without ever being overbearing. He gave us the perfect recommendations and took his time pointing them out. I started with the babaghanoush, and let me tell you... it was the best I've ever had. And we just visited the Mediterranean recently, nothing compared to this. It was savory, smoky, and downright addictive. I only wish I had more pita chips to scoop it all up. The hummus sampler was also delicious. We asked Marcelo for more bread and he delivered. For our mains, we ordered the mixed platter of meats and the short rib. Every morsel was perfection, so tender and flavorful it was unreal. Every bite melted like butter. Talk about comfort food at its best. The chef even came out to greet us, and I told him, "Sir... your food is amazing." I cannot wait to go back! This is money well spent, and I already told my husband I want to bring all my friends here. Also, important tip: It's BYOB, so don't forget to bring your favorite wine. I wish I knew beforehand, but we'll definitely come prepared next time. Mandaloun has earned two new loyal customers. Highly, highly recommend. Wow!!! SIMPLY AMAZING! The place is pretty inside too. Just wish they dimmed the lights a little, but overall exceptional experience.

Always fantastic with meats cooked to utter perfection. We've also tried the yogurtlu doner with tomato sauce which is solid, but not my fav. Shepherds salad seems unassuming but is FANTASTIC. Hummus is mid-tier but passable. Adana Kebab is absolute perfection and a little spicy and delivers very well too. We also tried their onion kofte kebab special which I wasn't sure about at first since I'm not a huge fan of lamb that tastes like lamb but it grew on me fast -- a little sweet and sour, tangy, and extremely rich from the fattiness in the meatballs. Truly a perfect plate, though perhaps not everyone's cup of tea. The service is always attentive and not overbearing. The restaurant is massive, clean, and always has patrons -- very cute interior and lots of booth options (yay!) Desserts are solid though I feel they are a touch overpriced. I enjoyed the ice cream and the lava cake. Dervish has become a staple in our comfort food rotation.

But although I found the restaurant to be cozy and my server to be friendly, the food though freshly prepared was just average at best. Let me explain. So, after perusing the menu, I saw a few Mediterranean staples, such as, baba-ghanoush, lentil soup, and a beef Shawarma entrée. So I decided to order all three of those items. Now, let me tell you not only was I excited to taste the food here, but I truly wanted to experience what a majority of people on yelp said about this place and its food. But I soon discovered that you truly cannot trust other peoples opinions when it comes to food. You just literally have to try it yourself to see if it even resembles that cuisines standard benchmarks. Well anyway, let me get to what I thought about the food. The lentil soup it's pretty tasty, but it would serve lukewarm. The baba-ghanoush was also tasty, but the pita bread was stale and void of any flavor. And as for the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, it was literally chopped up cubes of beef! Nothing near to what a standard Shawarma entrée should resemble, or let alone taste like! To be quite honest, I was so disenchanted with the Shawarma entrée that I asked my server to take it away and just give me the bill. I was ready to go! But my server genuinely saw my disappointment with this so-called Beef Shawarma that she pleaded with me to try another entrée. So I asked her to recommend another entrée to me. And she recommended the Skewered Chicken entrée. So, I caved in and went ahead and ordered this Skewered Chicken entrée. But I should've just went with my gut feeling and just should have paid the bill and left. I say this because it took forever for them to prepare this Skewered Chicken entrée and I mean forever! And this is on a Tuesday night with only two other people inside the restaurant, so literally this place was empty! (Not sure if the Cook made me wait for this dish out of spite for me sending back the first entree but that is my suspicion). Anyway, I got my server's attention and she told me if I could wait a few more minutes because they were plating my dish and that it will be out shortly. And that literally took another 10 minutes. To say that I was eager to get out of this place would be an understatement. I was standing up literally putting on my jacket when the dish finally reached my table. My server asked me kindly to return to my seat and to try her recommended entrée. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I did so. The Skewered Chicken entrée was a little better than the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, but really nothing to write home about. What a letdown! I really wanted to give this restaurant one star, but my server really showed genuine concern about my dining experience. And I truly appreciated that. And so as for my take on Le Souk of Montclair NJ. I would caution spending your hard earned money at this restaurant. The food is mediocre at best and there are a lot of better options in the Montclair area for Mediterranean food.
