Mandaloun is truly a hidden gem, by far one of the best restaurants we've been to. From beginning to end, this place absolutely deserves 5 stars. Actually I give it a 10 out of 10! My husband was craving Mediterranean food and while researching options, we stumbled across Mandaloun. I have no doubt that sooner or later, getting a table here will be impossible because the food is that delicious. We didn't have a reservation but they still accommodated us with genuine hospitality. Our waiter, Marcelo, was exceptional, super attentive, warm, and went the extra mile without ever being overbearing. He gave us the perfect recommendations and took his time pointing them out. I started with the babaghanoush, and let me tell you... it was the best I've ever had. And we just visited the Mediterranean recently, nothing compared to this. It was savory, smoky, and downright addictive. I only wish I had more pita chips to scoop it all up. The hummus sampler was also delicious. We asked Marcelo for more bread and he delivered. For our mains, we ordered the mixed platter of meats and the short rib. Every morsel was perfection, so tender and flavorful it was unreal. Every bite melted like butter. Talk about comfort food at its best. The chef even came out to greet us, and I told him, "Sir... your food is amazing." I cannot wait to go back! This is money well spent, and I already told my husband I want to bring all my friends here. Also, important tip: It's BYOB, so don't forget to bring your favorite wine. I wish I knew beforehand, but we'll definitely come prepared next time. Mandaloun has earned two new loyal customers. Highly, highly recommend. Wow!!! SIMPLY AMAZING! The place is pretty inside too. Just wish they dimmed the lights a little, but overall exceptional experience.

We were so lucky to be referred to this amazing restaurant. We drove from the city hoping for an amazing Lebanese Mediterranean experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed. A very elegant and open restaurant with music that takes you to the Mediterranean. With an incredibly enticing menu you will not be disappointed! We enjoyed the cold and hot appetizers, tabouli, kibbi balls, calamari, baba ganoush and the hummus trio just to name a few. With amazing flavor you feel you're in a Lebanese home. The staff also were so attentive and helpful with suggestions. For the main course we had the chicken shawarma and it was absolutely delicious, with garlic sauce and a side of fries. The short ribs with mashed potatoes melted in your mouth. We also enjoyed the Branzino was cooked to perfection. To top it off was an amazing desert made in house, a Syrian ice cream with rosewater and pistachios. It was Perfection!! This restaurant is on my repeat list! I Highly recommend Mandaloun! This would be the best place to have a private function as well because it's so open and decorated so beautifully and you won't leave hungry!

It was our first time here. It is bright and tastefully decorated. We had a very early dinner so it was not crowded. The tables are very close together which isn't my favorite seating arrangement but it was not busy at all at that time. The warm table pita bread came with a dip that was an excellent mix of spices. I tasted a faint mint and citrus in there that was excellent. I overheard a 'to go' order and the staff saying there was pumpkin soup, so I asked for that when the waitress came. It was good, not the usual thick and creamy version which I enjoyed. The fried calamari and shrimp appetizer was crispy and light. We asked what they were known for and our waitress pointed us to the mandaloun mixed grill. The meat was nicely seasoned and pretty tender. I did not care for the yellow rice flavor, but it wasn'twhy I ordered the dish. We also had the grilled shrimp and scallops with a wonderfully prepared couscous with vegetables. As we finished our dinner another table was seated next to us and they gave them a specials menu in addition to the regular menu. Some of the specials they discussed sounded good and we would probably have ordered something from that as well. When asked we got several different reasons from multiple staff as to why we did not get that menu. I would definitely ask if there are specials if you want some more of what sounded like delicious options to try.

The olive oil didn't seem to pair super well with it though. Got the Adana kebab and mixed grill to go (sampled all the items at the restaurant while still hot). Chicken shish- fairly tender. Slightly charred. Good flavor Lamb shish- cooked ~ medium with a little pink. Good flavor but could be a bit more tender. I do prefer my meats medium rare so it could just be that. Adana kebab- Tender, good flavor. I think it could've been a bit juicier? Burger- super tender and full of flavor. Best meat by far. Veggies and rice- both very good. I tasted piece of the chicken in the chicken salad & it was really good & well flavored so it was kind of puzzling to me that The chicken thigh lacked flavor even though the chicken itself was fresh & delicately grilled, vegetables was great especially the baby potatoes, rice was meh! But it came with no kind of sauce. There were at least 3 tables celebrating their birthday which I took for a good sign & place appears child friendly without being annoying so it seems like a great neighborhood spot. With good atmosphere & great service, & fresh ingredients, I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of flavors in several dishes but I would still cautiously recommend this place if you live in the neighborhood but I would not go out of my way to get to this restaurant.

We started with the cucumber, pistachio, and yogurt, with harissa and sesame seeds. Like a very creative and refreshing Mediterranean pickle. Delish. We also got the Mediterranean salad. It was much more interesting than your typical Greek salad. Excellent feta, good cucumbers and tomato, and nice little pita chip slivers. They also start you with very good bread with olive oil and some olives. For our entrées we got Chilean Seabass, Branzino fillet, and Mariscada, which is a big shellfish stew. While it's not indicated on the menu, all entrées come with saffron rice, sautéed vegetables... And their homemade potato chips. The person who got the Mariscada was so happy. It had every kind of fresh shellfish and really was enough for two people. I really enjoyed the Branzino fillet, which came with a lemon caper sauce. It was huge and very delicious, I had to give some pieces away. The Chilean Seabass is the most expensive, at $55. For me, I felt that I have had better Seabass and I preferred my $36 branzino. But the person who ordered it was thrilled and thought it was amazing, and gets it every time here. I loved the saffron rice, and the homemade potato chips. I didn't eat the sautéed vegetables (there was just too much food everywhere!). But the person who tried them thought they were extremely delicious. Overall, this is a great place for sharing, with tons of food. And the cucumber, harissa yogurt, pistachio and sesame seed appetizer showed that they are innovating and not just doing your parent's Don Pepe. Oliver was also a super server as was everyone else on the team. And we enjoyed the patio... though I must say that being over Route 46 traffic is not the most atmospheric, and I wish the patio was on the other side! But who can complain with all this yummy food? Looking forward to coming back here next time I'm in New Jersey.

It seems that the food tasted the same but presented & plated differently. I asked the waiter if the Chef remained from the previous establishment and he confirmed; this is why the food tasted familiar. I'm not sure if I'd return and would say my overall experience was just, OK. Arancini: Arborio rice was bland & cold Clams Casino: Good, but the mashed potato did not pair well Mariscada Red Sauce: Good, tiny little shrimp & obnoxiously large calamari rings. Prime porter House: Just Ok not prime but rather choice and they offer no sauces, presentation needs work.

He immediately started barking at us about how we had made a reservation for four adults and one child, and that we would have to pay full price for the fourth adult which was $80 who did not show up. When we were seated, I had already apologized to the server that the fourth person could not make it, and the server -- who had otherwise been wonderful -- politely told us it was fine. I really thought this won't be a big deal like other establishments that are even more high end. I later learned that the individual's name was Tom. Describing his behavior as merely rude would be an understatement; his conduct was obnoxious, unprofessional, and unnecessarily aggressive. First, being charged the full $80 price for a guest who did not attend was extremely shocking and disappointing. More concerning, however, was the manner in which Tom approached and addressed us. In all my years of dining out, I have never experienced such poor service or such an inappropriate attitude from restaurant staff. Although I was eventually provided with containers to pack some food to take home, the entire experience left me feeling deeply insulted and completely ruined what was meant to be a special Mother's Day dinner. This Tom, who I was told aa a manger lacks a professionalism to be a qualified one. He needs a major attitude change.
