We stopped in last night about 30 minutes before they closed at 930 pm. The staff was very nice and took our order and had our starters out quickly while we waited on our pizza order. We had Caesar salad, wings and the 46th street special without the jalapeños and without anchovies. The wings could've been tossed in the sauce more thoroughly and no other options but buffalo sauce. The pizza crust could've been slightly crispier. Price and value were pretty good. read more

Got my drinks, sat down and within less than 5 minutes I had my salad. Our fried mozzarella were good no extra breading. You would definitely need a fork to eat it though. Our pizza came out quick. Craving NY style pizza, I always pass by this restaurant. Finally stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Our service was great, order at the counter and prices are reasonable. Shared a medium pizza and garlic cheese bread. For fountain drinks they offer Pepsi products or beer and bottle Coke products. The restaurant was clean and music wasn't too and they played some good songs. Overall great place for some pizza. read more

Is it possible to give a ZERO!! I waited over 30 min for Nothing! when I placed order in person they told me it would take 15-20 minutes for takeout for medium pizza and wings that cost $30!!! Two people came into restaurant and about 10 came in To pick up orders called in. 1 guy said he had called in just 5 minutes ago and only had to wait another 5 minutes and got his order and I never got mine. When I asked for my $$ back they didn't want to give it to me and just shrugged it off but they could tell I was upset so finally one older guy making pizzas said " just give it to her" all indignant!! I was forced to give it 1 star to be able to post review but believe they dont deserve it read more

Eh. Could've been better. Not memorable. Margherita was blah. Dried basil instead of fresh. Tomatoes were not flavorful. Cheese was okay. Dough was missing that classic NY yeasty flavor. Eh. I'm 110% pizza snob when it comes to NY style pizza. This isn't nostalgic of home at all. It's okay pizza. Not authentic NY style though. So far Ray's Pizzaria (yes they spell it with an A) is the most authentic NY Style pizza I've had in San Antonio so far. You can see my review there. 46th Street missed a lot of the marks. Not saying you shouldn't eat here. I'm saying if you're looking for authentic NY pizza to remind you of NYC then this place is not it. Try it for yourself. read more

I am a frequent customer of 46th Street Pizza. I've eaten their pizzas from their Alamo Ranch, Helotes Point, and North San Antonio locations. They could be the best pizza parlor in San Antonio. The only problem I have is their inconsistency. Some times, their product is so good I could close my eyes and imagine being in Brooklyn. Other times, the underside of the pizza is burnt or the flavor of the pizza is just plain bland. If they can solve the inconsistency issue, they'd be that five star establishment that San Antonio needs. I'll keep visiting them and will provide updates. read more

My fiancée and I picked up dinner from here tonight. We started with Garlic Bread which was fine. I had the pepperoni calzone which is one of my go to dishes from here and it was as good as usual and always of excellent size. My fiancée had the marghetita pizza and she was very happy with the quality of the pizza. The cheesecake we were given for desert was more than disappointing. There were multiple spots of mold on the cheesecake making the end of the meal a real let down to what had been an enjoyable meal up until then. read more

In a city replete with awful pizza joints and people who cite places like Domino's for their favorite pie, a light shines. That light is 46th Street Pizza. It isn't my favorite pizza place in the city, but it is my second-favorite and since it's much closer to my house than my #1, we go here A LOT. I'll come right out and say that I've only ever ordered pizza at 46th ( PIZZA is literally in the name, ergo I order the pizza). Our family favorite is the Margarita and we get it every time. I can always count on a thin, perfectly cooked crust that's crisp on the bottom and has a good soft chew. The sliced tomatoes are ripe and the whole pie is balanced and savory. When I've got a real need for gobs of cheese, I do order extra cheese. Lastly, I'm noticing that a lot of the negative reviews on here have to do with 1) isolated incidents that happen at every restaurant no matter how hard anyone tries, or 2) food items that are not pizza. So...order the pizza and maybe dial back the revenge-Yelping when someone offends your delicate sensibilities. If it happens all the time, that's another story that others might actually benefit by knowing. read more

They've been really good for pizza in the past. I ordered a pasta dish this time which was supposed to consist of gnocchi, red sauce, and CHEESE! That all all important ingredient! Sadly was missing from my dish when I got it home. I called to let the restaurant know and they were nice enough about it, but didn't offer to do anything at all to rectify the situation. Just "sorry that happened." So I'm just stuck with this kind of depressing meal for 10 dollars. I hate when restaurants can't be bothered to make sure your dish is up to par before sending you home where they know you're not gonna drive back. Anyway I'll think twice before ordering takeout here again. read more

Two things: The location at IH10 is permanently closed. Use the online order features with caution, you will be using Postmates and any disputes will NOT be handled timely. While I was running errands I placed my order in the parking lot for the IH 10 location. Since that location was closed, the Helotes location pulled up on my phone. I placed my order using the "take out" order button. I received a text message as soon as I submitted and the location was Helotes. I immediately called the restaurant and explained that I needed to cancel my order because I placed the order for the wrong location. The young lady who answered did find my order, cancelled it but stated I would have to contact Postmates for a refund. I attempted to cancel from the link in the text message - I would click "cancel" and nothing happened but a spinning wheel. I even downloaded the app but my order is nowhere in the order history of the account. I also contacted customer support by phone and the queue had a 59 minute wait. When I contacted them by email I was told because it was a pick up order I can't get a refund. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge. COVID has changed how we do business. There are A LOT of vendors offering platforms for collecting orders online. Choose one that is user friendly with some control at the restaurant level. This has been very inconvenient and unnecessary. read more

Fantastic to-go experience! I've ordered here a few times in the last year and each time they do great. The food is great whether I pick up or have it delivered through a 3rd party app. Today, I had what might be the best fried mozzarella I've ever had! Absolutely delicious. Their dining room is currently closed to keep their employees safe during covid but you can still order and pickup. Thanks for a great experience! read more

I read the review, and had to stop by. When I entered, It was empty. Within minutes, the fire department with EMS came in then I knew this place was real. I ordered what my wife loves and that's the Hawaiian. After taking the pizza home, both of us said the same thing "this is our new pizza place". While their pizza is good. And there fried mozzarella was great our last visit we definitely did not receive there's fried mozzarella. Definitely got a premade frozen mozzarella sticks. Very disappointed about that. Stick to the pizza and skip the fried mozzarella until they bring back how they made it before. read more

I was driving home a few weeks back and saw this "new"(to me) pizza place had opened up and on a nice friday night in ordered it via doordash. Excited I looked at the menu and saw the prices were a little high... Ended up spending $25 on a large pizza for me and my friends.. nothing crazy - pepperoni, sausage, and onion. When the pizza arrived it was the most plain flavored pizza I had ever had. Definitely not worth $25. A few friends told me they had better experiences when dining in, perhaps I'll give it a second chance... though for the price and the quality I find that unlikely. read more

This is a new restaurant for Helotes, which is great because we need more options! This place does not disappoint. The place is small but cozy and clean. Customer service was great. The two guys were friendly and punctual. My husband and I got the spaghetti which was very delicious! Served with bread and butter, this meal is filling. Have I gone mad or is Mod Pizza really a five-star experience? A bit of both, perhaps! I entered Mod Pizza with lowered expectations and left wondering how a pizza put together on an assembly line (think Subway but with pizzas instead of sandwiches) could be so gosh darn tasty. I'm still wondering, but I can't argue with results; over the course of four recent visits, I've experienced nothing short of excellence on all fronts. The first thing I noticed upon entering this location was that the restaurant was immaculate. The open kitchen was spotless, the tables were all clean and bussed, and the entire restaurant smelled of hearth. Even the restroom was pristine, an unfortunate rarity among fast-casual restaurants. Mod's claim to fame is that you can build a pizza of your own choosing. You pay a flat fee ($8.95, if memory serves) for an 11-inch pizza and then choose as many toppings as you want at no additional cost. Considering that most national pizza joints charge per topping, Mod's "anything or everything" policy is enticing. Once you're done selecting your toppings, the pie goes into a gas oven and cooks in about three minutes. On my first visit, I created a fancy-ass pizza topped with mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, Gorgonzola, fresh ricotta, red onions, whole cloves of roasted garlic, and a fig-balsamic glaze. The affable young lady behind the counter had no difficulty keeping up with my requests and was very generous with the toppings. When I bit into the first bite, I could taste every component...and I hummed a little ditty to myself. The crust was thin and crispy, the red onion retained its astringency, and the funk from the Gorgonzola contrasted nicely with the sweetness and acidity from the fig-balsamic glaze. I can take credit for this pizza's conception, but Mod executed it perfectly. On subsequent visits, I've experimented with a variety of toppings. I won't bore you on the specifics, but every pie has been a winner. Pro tip: consult the online menu beforehand and jot down your toppings in advance. Doing so will keep the line moving briskly and prevent you from putting together a slapdash Frankenstein's monster of clashing components. Now, don't get me wrong. By giving Mod five stars, I'm not implying that they are on par with a place like Il Forno. That would be a ridiculous, unfair comparison. What I *am* saying, though, is that Mod is great for what it is: an innovative fast-casual concept and a great value. I even approve of their music selections. I've heard them play "Sound and Vision" by David Bowie, "The Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen, and even "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Hey, that's my main man! Go there!

The red salsa was mild but lots of flavor. Staff was polite, restaurant was clean with nice ambiance and the tortillas were the best from restaurant so far. The chips were thicker than usual but still good, and while the salsa had decent flavor, it had almost no heat at all. We also ordered guacamole without onions, but it came across very bland and could've used more lime, seasoning, and some jalapeño to brighten it up. My wife did enjoy her strawberry margarita, which was both flavorful and noticeably strong. I ordered the mole enchiladas and found the mole sauce surprisingly flat and lacking depth. Other dishes around the table were described as just okay overall, although the kids were very happy with the thick, fluffy pancakes. The biggest issue was timing. We didn't receive our entrees until almost 3:00 PM, which made for a very long wait, especially with kids at the table. To the restaurant's credit, they brought out two slices of cake to apologize even though we never complained. Overall, we left pretty underwhelmed, especially considering the occasion. The excellent table-side service couldn't fully make up for the slow kitchen and uneven food quality. I'd be willing to give them another try on a less hectic day, but this visit didn't quite live up to expectations.

Hospitality clearly isn't a priority here. Staff looked stressed, customers were being talked down to, and the whole experience felt more like being scolded than being welcomed. There are plenty of places where the atmosphere is friendly and the management understands basic customer service. Until this place addresses the behavior of its management, I'd strongly recommend spending your time--and money--somewhere else.
