Salad and Drink (Comes with Lunch Special)

I stopped by here with some friends for lunch and really enjoyed it! The cashier recommended their lunch specials. I split a combo (2 slices w/ 2 toppings each + Drink) with a friend and it came out to about ~$6 a slice which I think is so affordable! As seen in the picture, these slices are HUGE. The inside was decorated with very classic pizzeria vibes. I will definitely come back again to try their speciality pizzas!

Slice of pepperoni. Epic. Get this!

TLDR: Great food, decent service, and a blast of nostalgia when you eat in their dining room. I visited Goomba's for their 2-slice and a drink lunch special. Came out hot and perfect. This is a very authentic NY/NJ style pizza. If you're an itinerant New Yorker, this is closest to a Bleeker Street pie. Very thin crust, with the perfect amount of chewiness and crunch. Mushroom topping was very good. Pepperoni was epic, with a little charred crunch at the end! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

They must have new people bc the service was TRASH. I'm too mad to even write a full post .. Let me try the food I waited 20 min on .. the food I had to sit back & wait another 10 on.. Yea the pizza tasted like cigarettes and the tasted broiled or something but not the same from two years ago .. NEVER AGAIN

Large pizza, half veggie pesto, half pepperoni

I always order to-go, so I cannot comment on their dining-in experience. These New York style pizzas are so flavorful and fresh! The crust is thin, they do not skimp on the toppings and it's just overall very tasty. Local pizza joints with fresh ingredients just hit different. I love the veggie pesto but you can't go wrong with a pepperoni. Yesterday we had half and half and it was the perfect combination. They also have pizza by the slice, appetizers and daily specials. Price is fair. Overall, I enjoy Goomba's and love supporting local neighborhood eateries.

Meh.....What else can I say? It was only $4 and would probably be good if options were extremely limited.

    Spinach Calzone delicious already

The pizza and the calzone were delicious. The price was very fair considering the quality. The young ladies that were working right now were very nice and professional. Lots of easy parking. Nice small dining area. I believe I will eat inside next time.

Nice little duck off pizza spot in San Antonio of I-10. Speedy and great service, pizza slices are huge, and they have great daily deals. The place reminds me a little of New York, you're able to get slices as opposed to entire pizzas and the slices are offered in the daily deals that feature either 2 slices and a drink, 1 slice a drink and a salad, or a pasta deal option. I had 2 slices and it was more than enough, so much so I had leftovers. This is 1/2 places I know that actually serve nice slices in the city. The ambience is a very classical pizza spot you'd see in some older movies; the classic red and white tabletops, arcade area, and fountain drinks. Definitely a light time travel and could've served as a hangout spot.

Great fresh pizza (and other Italian dishes) at a reasonable price. Had their two slices and a drink combo and it was delicious!

Does this taste like actual New York pizza?

Depends on the location. The one on IH10 And wurzbach tastes like baked cardboard. But the one at crossroads mall isn't bad or ray's pizzeria is the same company and is also good.

Since I've never eaten here before I'm inclined to believe I may have gotten something else, because I've never had a hot Italian with the meat choices this one had. No lettuce, no tomato, no seasoning of any kind, just grilled meat, some onions and grilled green peppers. (Willing to accept this may have been because I was unclear on what came with the sandwich- but including lettuce and tomato seems standard for an Italian). Bread was good, service was quick. Shop was neat and clean, nice decor. Just not a good experience.

Then the guy with the slicked hair, looking like a true Italian took over my order like a pro. He knew exactly what I was looking for and offered all the good toppings I wanted. I didn't get the guys name but if all his employees strived to be like him then this shop would be A-OK. I ordered the veggie wrap because I gave up meat for the season. It was delish. I didn't know they also had pepper relish, but The Guy offered it to me on the side. This place has good service. I give 4 stars because that one rep was speaking like a librarian and made the ordering process alil challenging.

We came here for lunch and parking and seating was easily accessible/available. Cori, the bartender and server gave us a friendly greeting upon entering. We sat at a table near the bar and told her we were there for the infamous Astro burger with fries. The bar/grill was pretty cool- lots table seating, electronic darts, pool table, arcade games, cool decor, and a stage for karaoke. Cori guaranteed us that the chef knows how to cook his burgers and I ordered medium doneness...and medium it was! The burger was absolutely fabulous! A good size, topped with delicious pastrami, that was not overly salted. It came with the fresh vegetables of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and crisp onion. The fries were to die for... cooked you know with a crisp outer and soft middle and had a sprinkle of some amazing seasoning. Dipped them all in ketchup too lol All this for $12 in lieu of SA burger week. I accompanied my burger and fries with a pineapple hard cider and the combo was perfect. The food was awesome and service was the best! We'll be back when in the area Military discount offered.
