I was shopping for a car for my mom and worked with North Shore Mazda on finding the right Mazda CX-30 for her. There was initially an issue with the specific vehicle we came in to see, and the Sales Manager's initial handling of the issue was not ideal, but I really appreciated how the General Manager and our Sales Representative, Duarte Bettencourt, handled things afterward. Xavier Casiano, the General Manager, reached out personally, gave me his personal phone number, and made it clear that he wanted to make the situation right. He was responsive, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about helping us find the right vehicle rather than just pushing us into something. Duarte, our Sales Representative, was also excellent throughout the entire process. He was helpful and patient in person each time we were at the dealer, answered our questions, and later made a video showing us another vehicle so my mom could get a better look before coming back in. That extra effort meant a lot and helped rebuild our confidence after the initial mix-up. Overall, while the experience did not start perfectly, Xavier and Duarte went out of their way to turn it around. They treated us well, took responsibility, and made a genuine effort to help my mom find a car she would be happy with. I really appreciate their follow-up and customer service. read more

LIARS!!! Extremely misleading and unprofessional experience. Scammers!!! Just expect lies after lies from these people. Casey E, the sales manager, made it a key selling point that the vehicle (a preowned Tesla) included Full Self-Driving, repeatedly emphasizing that it added $12,000 in value to the car. Based on that, I agreed to the deal and put down a down payment. After everything was signed, I found out the car does NOT include FSD - a major misrepresentation. Once this was confirmed, there was no effort to adjust the price to reflect the missing $12,000 feature. The value of the car clearly changed, but the price did not. When I raised the issue, they admitted the mistake (but still blamed the owner that sold them that car???) and offered no real solution other than canceling. No accountability and no attempt to make things right. All they offered was a free car detail to the loss of the $12,000 car value??!!!! Trying to get my money back has been just as frustrating. I spent the entire day trying to reach to the GM Xavier. When I finally did, he said he would check on my refund for the down payment and then left for the day without any update or follow-up!!!! So unprofessional as a GM. This was not just poor communication - it was a complete lack of transparency and accountability from start to finish. Issac accompanied me on my test drive, which I really appreciated, and was helpful in pointing out the differences between the 2023 and 2025 CX-50. Casey was receptive to my concerns about purchasing a new vehicle and was patient as we did a lot of math and discussed many factors that went into my decision. Hard sell to trade in car "because they would hate to see me put that much money into a ten year old car". dealership suxz I'm writing to formally report an upsetting experience I had with one of your staff members. I called your office three separate times, and each time I was connected to the same individual. During our final interaction, after I expressed that I wasn't interested in hearing about his personal issues, he responded by calling me a "bitch"--a completely unacceptable and offensive remark. Throughout the calls, his tone was consistently rude and unprofessional. He spoke over me, refused to listen, and made the conversation unnecessarily difficult. Fortunately, I was eventually able to speak with a manager who handled the situation professionally and respectfully. I hope this issue is addressed properly because no customer deserves to face verbal abuse or disrespect when seeking help. I had a terrible experience trying to sell my car to this awful company and was treated poorly. From now on, I'll avoid cheap, low-quality services and stick with German engineering. North Shore Mazda delivered a Certified CX-5 to me in NH. Immediately took it to be inspected (NH Inspection needed). It failed due to a screw in the tire (needed replacement, beyond repair), and an almost dead battery. Immediately notified North Shore Mazda of the two issues. Figured not a big deal, we can all agree this is not how a certified vehicle should arrive, and they would pay for the needed repairs (less than $500). Yeah, no. They agreed to reimburse me for the battery*, but not the new tire. Suggested the garage that inspected the vehicle could be responsible for the damaged tire (yeah, you read that right). Apparently, that is the "transparency" at a Joe Shaker Automotive Group dealership - well, the lack of integrity is easy to see. *Oh, and you'll be shocked to learn they never reimbursed me for the battery. Overcharge the MSRP and try to convince you to take a longer, high interest loan to make even more money off of you. And they delete bad Google reviews! No wonder why their rating is low here but a 4.8 on Google. In particular, they try to 10% upcharge on the MSRP. Then they try to convince you that you can just take out a longer term loan from them (with high interest) to make the numbers "work out." Not to mention the pushy tactics of "someone else is here to buy the car" to justify the upcharge. Total rip off. Do not go to North Shore Mazda. They can't claim to be an "honest dealership" when they're actively taking advantage of the car shortage by overcharging the MSRP and presenting monthly payment plans in a misleading way (claiming to match your price at their profit margin) in order to make even more off of you in interest payments. North Shore Mazda is not a place I would recommend for buying your Mazda. Do your research before giving them your money and time. I went there to purchase a new Mazda (which would be my 3rd Mazda) and had a poor experience with the sales department. They lied on their numbers, kept twisting them and playing games. I guess they thought I was gullible but I walked and went to another Mazda dealership south of Boston and had a seamless experience! Since I live north of the city, I had to had my new Mazda in for an issue and thought I'd give North Shore another chance but their service department is just as ridiculous. After making my appointment, I arrived today only to be told "you don't have an appointment". After searching again they realized I did have an appointment and then said I had to take it back to the dealership where I purchased it to have it repaired but would call Mazda and see if they could repair it since I was there and they made the appointment! Any Mazda dealership can make the repair, and this is for a brand new car under factory warranty! They sent me on my way with faulty breaks and said they would call me back. Never heard back from them. As soon As I left the dealership, I called the dealership where I purchased it and without any questions they told me to come in immediately and replaced the faulty brakes in less than 2 hours! I wish I could say I was one of the many happy people who have left reviews about this dealership, but I'm about as far from that experience as possible. Let's dig in - I don't take time to write these often, but I'm about as angry as I get. I bought my Mazda CX5 GTR here in 2020 - the sales person Duarte was awful - every single thing I asked about required a trip to the backroom ( maybe he was new ? ) and he actually laughed at me when I asked if the car would be ready a few days after we finished the paperwork. The guy in the backroom trying to sell extended warranties / service coverage was so pushy I had to tell him no five times. All this to say that, even though they give you a free oil change when you buy a car from them, I avoided going back until recently. I almost went to a different dealership, but figured hey maybe it was an off day / transaction. It had been nearly 3 1/2 years - no way it could be like that again. Enter the class-action lawsuit against Mazda including my particular CX5 model - apparently the oil was leaking through seals on some models. The result was a trip for an oil change roughly every 2500 - 4000 miles ( it's rated for 7500 ). I had noticed I was changing it a lot over the past few years - I even raised the question with the service department when I went in for a brake job. The guy I spoke to at that point said, " well it's based off of engine run time." Really? Did I idle the car in a parking lot for a week straight to bring my range from 7500 to 4000 miles? That still blows my mind. Called them up and was told I needed to go in and get an oil change at the dealership and then set up a subsequent visit 1000 miles later to check the oil levels. Annoying, but I doubt they set the rules at the dealership level so that's what I did. Fast forward to yesterday - John in the service department calls to let me know they did the test and all the oil was there. There was no problem. This didn't seem right since I was still changing it roughly twice as much as I should. I got John on the phone today and explained that - something was clearly still wrong. Could they check the oil sensor? Was there something else we could look into? John's response? " We don't have a service record of you coming here for oil changes ( to prove they were done right)." I spared him the explanation of why I had avoided the dealership like the plague. Then he said "You go to Valvoline? " He then proceeded to tell me how they may have not put enough oil in / the wrong oil / etc / etc. These are questions I obviously can't answer ( and he acknowledged that on the phone - thanks for asking John ) I responded by saying " Every single time I've gone there for 3 years they got it wrong?" It's weird that my Honda Pilot has been brought there since we bought it in 2017 and guess how many times I've experienced the same problem with that car? Zero. Guess it's only Mazdas that confuse their techs. TL / DR: I'm a sucker for punishment and went back to a a dealership that gave me an awful experience the first time. John doubled down on my foolish decision to go back and, instead of trying to help me figure out why my oil light kept coming on way too soon, decided to pass the buck and blame another company. I've been trying to call the service manager but oddly enough the extension on his business card doesn't work. Seems fitting. Go somewhere else. read more

BEWARE! can't tell you how strongly I urge you NOT to shop or deal with North Shore Mazda! They are NOT a trustworthy dealership! After having purchased a certified pre-owned car I arrived to pick it up only to be told it had a "minor" crack in the windshield and could not be delivered as promised.., It would reportedly take days to get the specific part ordered and delivered. They then showed me two alternative vehicles with the same features I'd wanted. The alternates were 2017 models but still carried the Certified Preowned Vehicles standards ( basically flawless exterior, interior, and mechanically sound operation with acceptable mileage and reportedly, no body damage!) I and my brother-in-law, a fastidious, detailed individual inspected it with a fine tooth comb. The only issues we found were minor interior scuff marks on the leather and some exterior dirt which could easily be cleaned. I was assured that with the detailing they offered, the vehicle would have the look of a brand new inside and out. It was arranged that the car would be delivered to me at an agreed upon place the next morning. As promised, the salesman drove it to the agreed upon location, a condo parking lot complex and backed the car into a parking space. After a short conversation I was given the keys. I subsequently began the drive back to Martha's Vineyard where I live. A few days later, my husband was washing the car and discovered the unsightly and suspicious patch of something resembling white bondo holding the fender to the body of the vehicle. (See picture) This had NOT been there when we had carefully inspected the body of the car the day at the dealership prior to closing on the purchase of this vehicle. On numerous occasions I have attempted to call and email the salesperson, the sales manager and the finance manager to find an answer as to what this was and to find a resolution for the damage. The salesman occasionally answered his but reported that his hands were tied and that the sales manager had told him that he ( sales manager) would "take care of it". I haven't yet been contacted in spite of leaving my email and phone number and messages. I repeat, I have called several times, texted and left messages and attempted to email ( the email addresses on the business cards are inaccurate and get bounced back) them to discuss ways to find a resolution but THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS OR TEXTS. After being advised to, I got an estimate of $800.00 to repair the damage. While this in and of itself is unacceptable, the sketchy practice of refusing to answer my calls, texts and or email is infuriating. Additionally, as a "courtesy" to make up for the first problem of the cracked windshield issue, I was promised the Mazda version of " Weather Tech" mats for the front, rear and cargo areas. The front and rear seat mats did arrive but I have yet to receive the cargo mat! All in all, this car dealership is not reputable or reliable to deal with and I would STEER CLEAR of them at any cost! read more

I went to North Shore Mazda to test drive a Jeep Patriot. From the moment I walked in the door I felt relaxed. Dominque greeted me at the front desk and little did I know I was about to have the greatest car buying experience with absolutely no pressure at all. I test drove the vehicle with Dominque and knew right away I wanted to purchase it. I had the same vehicle a few years back so I knew what to expect and it was exactly what I wanted. We then sat down and talked about what my trade in was worth and then she met with the manager. She came back with the final numbers and I made it clear what I could afford. After the third visit with her manager we reached a very reasonable deal. Dominque was very kind and extremely patient. She was by no means pushy to make a sale. I felt totally at ease throughout the entire process. The next day (Dominque had the day off) I was fortunate to pick up the vehicle from Victor, who, just like Dominque was a pleasure to work with. After picking up the vehicle I had noticed that one of the ac vents was broken and they had me bring in the vehicle and fixed it with no problem. I highly recommend North Shore Mazda but even more so I highly suggest you ask for Dominque and you will receive an amazing car buying experience just as I did. I was extremely nervous going in as a woman without my husband and having no idea how to negotiate. But with Dominque's easy going demeanor and no pressure sales technique I got through it and would gladly purchase another vehicle from her when the time comes. While my salesperson Dominique was quite good, that was were good service ended...low grades for "Business manager" Brian (did not finance with them) and then this followed (my complaint to Attorney General office): On Monday 3/2/2020 I entered into an agreement with this dealer to purchase a 2013 Hyundai Elantra for the price of $7,800.00 with a total cost of $8,913.44 with dealer fees and sales tax. The amount of $X,XXX in cash was paid on Monday 3/2/2020. The balance of $X,XXX was electronically paid direct to the dealership account on Weds 3/5/2020. It is now Monday 3/9 at 2:30pm and the dealer still has this vehicle. I have received no phone calls informing me the vehicle was available for pick-up. The dealer has not returned my phone call pertaining to completion of this deal and pick-up of my purchased auto. I continue to be in a rental car costing me $180.00 per week as this deal delays. These business practice makes me question this dealer's practices. They have received the funds, but not released the vehicle to the purchaser makes me wonder if they are continuing using the vehicle to leverage debt even though they have receipt of the cash. read more

Came in three times with my girlfriend as someone who was ready to lease a vehicle. Sat down to talk lease prices with Bill and were given high numbers. Numbers that BMW advertises on their website. When her father ATTEMPTED to politely negotiate (never raised is voice, just asked for explanation), Bill started talking about how he's leased 17,000 cars, that Bill didn't have to "deal with this behavior," and if we got something less than that, "hats off to us." Then he proceeded to turn to my girlfriend, who's leased 3 vehicles over the past 9 years, and sarcastically tell her that her father is teaching her a life lesson, and insinuated that she couldn't 'afford' his cars. We've been to 10+ dealerships and have never been on the receiving end of a tirade like that. Completely unwarranted and disgusting. Bill pretty much sat down and said, "take my numbers or get out." I don't think it's unreasonable to lease an SUV for less than $400/month, but apparently Bill does. So much, in fact, that he brought my girlfriend to tears. They have decent cars. They have sarcastic, disrespectful, insulting salesman. Don't recommend going into North Shore Mazda, or maybe Bill was onto his Easter holiday plans. He spent a grand total of ten minutes of his time with us, and during those ten minutes, ensured that she, nor I, will ever go anywhere near a Mazda. So Bill did "teach us a lesson." Overall, this dealership provided a terrible buying experience! If you intend to purchase from this dealership, be sure to put it in writing. I exchanged my lease for another automobile, and the salesman and I came to a mutually assured arrangement. They offered to pay me $5,000 to break my lease and give me $500 toward a down payment on a new CX-30 through the Mazda Loyalty program. I was told that if I put another $1,000 down for the documentation fee, the remaining money would go toward the new vehicle. We are referring to a sum of $6,500. The parameters of 15k miles per 36 months were agreed upon. But there was an issue when I went to get the automobile. The financial manager is a crook who performs subpar work. I went in and saw that the documentation had been completed improperly. When I pointed it out, they placed me in at 12k at 36s yr. There was a lot of back and forth when I confronted the finance manager. I should have left this place since he made it such a nasty environment. Another warning sign was when they transferred my license plates to the new vehicle before I had even agreed to the terms; I was stunned and under a lot of pressure. When it should have been 6,000 dollars, the documentation said merely that $4,850 was being utilized as the down payment for the automobile when we agreed it was supposed to be 5,500. Some how I was short on my end of the deal ,I believed this dealership had ripped from me. They wrecked my experience buying a car because they were bad people and the very definition of a shady business. I will never refer someone to this dealership because they will be taken advantage of and lied to. To report fraudulent malpractice sales, I will be getting in touch with Mazda Corporation, and the Better Business Bureau will also be notified. I have to start by saying you can't make this up. I know it's a slightly long read and will probably read like a horror novel. It should also be noted that i wrote this to Mazda USA and tried to call them but they are not taking calls. Amazing! I wanted to start by saying we are repeat customers of Mazda north in Danvers mass. I think you will find this experience as disturbing as we have found. It all started 2 weeks ago when we decided on a new Mazda 3 hatchback 2021 model. I arranged through my works buying program and sent off an email stating I'm ready to purchase a car. immediately many surrounding dealers where calling and emailing back. But my wife wanted to come to Mazda north. Now the funny part the only dealer who had not called me back is you guessed it Mazda north. So I called them and arranged for phone meeting on Saturday. No one called me back. I called again and arranged for a phone meeting on Tuesday, no one called me back. We called again and arranged to come into the dealership last Thursday and we bought a car and paid cash. By the way the check cleared and they have my 26k. They promised to deliver in a couple of days as they where waiting on the certificate of origin. They said they arranged with Mazda to have it overnighted and we would have the car on Monday of this week, nope. We called and they said Tuesday, we called and they said Wednesday and then they pushed until Thursday. To which we got a call today stating your cars ready we will call you later. Later never came I called tonight and spoke to Rich Bell. I believe he is the manager. He told me that he still didn't have the certificate of origin and there was nothing he couldn't do about it. I stated you have my cash and also my car. At my wits end i will be into Mazda north tomorrow at 4pm for the car or money back. Rich was making any excuse he could make but in all honesty those are not my problems they are yours as a company. In closing the relationship is very simple. I give you money you supply me with the car. This experience in my 40 years of car buying is a first and something is not right with this dealership. Something is very wrong at a dealership when they don't call you back.... To add insult to mental injury we bought this as a first new car for our daughter. Considering I spent less than 10 minutes at North Shore Mazda, I would say that is one of my stronger opinions. My husband and I wanted to see the interior of a grand-touring model. We walked in and were greeted by a very pushy sale person but informed him we just wanted to look around. My husband is very tall and a big part of our car buying process is always sitting the car and in the backseat to see if we fit. About 1 minute later the sales person returned and wanted us to answer questions about what were were looking for. We re-stated we wanted to sit in the cars and see the grand touring model. He told us he had to gather information from us first. Upsettingly we followed him where he proceeded to try to gather information about financing. We told him we were unsure if we planned on buying the car, especially without seeing the interior of the grand touring and sitting in the cars. This was when the sales person stated he would not bring any cars out to show us without gathering all of this information first. So we left. Much to his and the sales manager's demise. You can't force people to give you information that is sensitive just to physically see a car, not test drive or otherwise plan to purchase. You are a show-room. The purpose is for you to show your cars. North Shore Mazda you are doing a bad job at this. Go to Liberty Mazda in Wakefield. Better show-room, better experience. read more

I started a new lease with Mazda about 2 months ago and had an excellent experience! Duarte was the salesman and was incredibly helpful with my constant questions and emails. I needed the car pretty quickly as my last lease (hyundai) had ended and I needed it for work and was leaving for vacation shortly. He was very accommodating throughout the whole process and helped me get the car within my short time frame. The dealership is beautiful, we were greeted immediately, and were test driving within 20 minutes. We also had a couple questions for the service department and they were happy to answer all of them. The gentleman in finance was nice and not too pushy with add-on options. I can't remember the name of the woman who showed me all of the features inside the car, but she was super thorough and helpful. My first Mazda experience and it was great! read more
