I bought a car in late October 2020. I was told it came with a 30 day warranty. Before taking ownership, I asked if the warranty could be extended for 60 days. His answer was 'don't worry, I'd any major problems come up we will take care of it'. Nothing in writing. Sure enough in mid December the car developed an oil leak that is common with that engine. Called Peter and he said bring it in and it was repaired. Not an inexpensive repair. He is honest and trustworthy. Highly recommend Cohasset imports. read more

If you have a brand that you love and know you may need a replacement vehicle in the future, tell Peter about your specifications for your used dream vehicle. It may take time for the vehicle to appear but it will be worth it because the vehicle you will get will be thoroughly analyzed by Peter and John. Learn from me because I did not tell Peter about my wishes until I found my dream vehicle on a lot of another small dealership. I did not want to lose the vehicle so I bought the vehicle as opposed to waiting for Peter to find the vehicle of my dreams. I needed to give a family member my old vehicle which I got from Peter and I did not have the luxury of time. My second mistake was not having Peter look at the new / used vehicle which I purchased from another small dealership. The vehicle was great for six plus years without any issues other than maintenance which I did locally and not at Cohasset Imports. In May 2023, I brought my car to Cohasset Imports for an oil change and the 60k scheduled maintenance. Unfortunately, it was too late. Peter and John discovered a very expensive $7,900 repair was needed. If I brought the car to Cohasset Imports years ago, they would have discovered the issue and it would have been covered under the warranty. Since I found a brand that I love, I was limited in my choices to find another vehicle. Again, I did not have time to wait until Peter found another vehicle for me so I traded my vehicle at a dealership and had Peter and John review my new used vehicle. Peter's analysis included some recommended repairs which I will discuss with the dealership. Peter gave me the assurance and confirmation that this new / old vehicle is in great condition and did not have any of the similar issues noted on my former vehicle. A customer in the waiting room called him an Angel and I could not agree more. We are so fortunate to have Peter on the South Shore looking out for us and guiding our automotive needs. read more

Being a car guy, I tend to have very high standards when it comes to purchasing and owning cars. I started my search for a specialty turbocharged Mazda in my own area (NYC), but was coming up short. All of the cars within an hour or two all had either high mileage, multiple owners, been modified, or even worse, been in accidents. When buying a car like this (that is out of factory warranty), finding the one that has been taken car of is much more important than anything else. I came across a car that Peter had on his lot, called him to discuss it, and was pleasantly surprised with what I heard. I had a business trip up to the area and decided to go out of my way to check the car out. Peter and his wife (Bettie) own the dealership and he hand picks the cars from local contacts he has made in his many years in business. I must say, he hit a home run with the Mazda he found. A one owner car with low mileage for the year, and most importantly was adult owned and well maintained. He was even willing to give me the name of the previous owner (who I somehow found on Google and was able to confirm the great details of the car). Needless to say, I ended up purchasing the car from Peter. He was very helpful and responsive in the process, which was not the easiest being that I was out of state (and a four hour drive away). I would absolutely recommend anyone looking to save money over buying a new car to look at the quality cars that Peter picks out. Not only does he have great quality cars, but also very fair prices. Just sold my car with these guys and they were fantastic. I had a lower mileage and well taken care of car that was priced to high for craigslist and the private market. These guys called us and offered more then the carmax offer. They were kind, quick and easy to deal with. More importantly, they were interested in the car because of its condition and they showed all the signs of being a good dealer to buy from. We were in and out of there in 30 minutes with a receipt for our bill of sale, very thorough instructions on transferring/cancelling all necessary accounts, registrations, etc. and directions to a town favorite diner for breakfast after. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Cohasset Imports when I purchased a 2012 Nissan Frontier this week. I saw the pickup truck on their website and thought it was worth checking out. After looking the truck over, I asked the salesmen, Jim, for information. He told me the price, the recent history and handed me the keys for a test drive. The battery sounded a little weak but I attributed that to the cold. Otherwise, the truck ran fine. I asked if they could put the truck on a lift for me. No problem. The undercarriage was good and the price was reasonable so I told Jim and Peter, the owner, that I'd take the truck. I came back the next day with a check and Peter told me that he had replaced the battery even though I had never mentioned my concerns about it. Anytime you buy a used car you're taking a bit of a chance. You can't predict the future. Cohasset Imports' way of doing business is to fix any problems they can see and give the customer the best value for their money. This is why they replaced the battery and also put on 4 new tires, replaced the brakes and changed the oil. You can't ask for any better service than that. The final paperwork took all of 10 minutes and I drove off with a nice clean truck and a full tank of gas.
