My friend flew in for the weekend for the P!NK concert at Petco on 5/15. I took the Coaster down from Oceanside to meet up with her for the concert. We had to figure out what to do with her luggage. I searched whether Santa Fe Depot had lockers, they do not, however something called Luggage Hero popped up. There are business in downtown that will keep your luggage locked up for a decent price. 4th Ave Laundry had a late pickup by 2 a.m., so she chose that. Check in was smooth, though they didn't ask for her reservation info, but gave her a ticket. After the concert in the was back to catch the train, we stopped by and there was no one to help us. There is a store next door that you can access without going back out to 4th Ave. One of the guys there came over and we retrieved her luggage. My friend got a "no show" notice from Luggage Hero as they said she didn't use the service. Had they checked her reservation info at check in, would have avoided this. She sent them a message, they reversed the charge and charged her the agreed upon price. In looking at the small print for Luggage Hero, they're supposed to wrap the luggage in plastic wrap while you check in, that way you could see if it was tampered with. My friend bought the insurance, cause you never know. But all was intact. I would recommend to others looking for a place to store luggage for a few hours, just read all the Luggage Hero small print to ensure the process goes smoothly. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS - DISGUSTING SERVICE & DISCRIMINATION I hired 4th Ave Cleaners for wash-and-fold laundry for both my business and personal clothing. Before starting, I spoke directly with the owner, Ms. Mason, who assured me everything would be handled professionally and delivered in white bags or clean, see-through bags. That is NOT what happened. When I met the delivery driver and casually mentioned that I am Jewish, his entire demeanor changed. The attitude was immediate, uncomfortable, and unmistakable. I have never experienced antisemitism in San Diego before this. Then came the delivery. My laundry arrived:    *   DIRTY    *   Stuffed into BLACK TRASH BAGS    *   4 items MISSING    *   1 shirt COMPLETELY DESTROYED Let me be very clear: This was not a mistake. This was negligence at best and discriminatory behavior at worst. I trusted this company with clothing that represents my livelihood. What I received instead was disrespect, property damage, and a situation that felt targeted and degrading. This business failed on every level:    *   Hygiene    *   Professionalism    *   Accountability    *   Basic human decency If you value your belongings, your time, or your dignity -- STAY AWAY. Used this location to drop off luggage for storage. Staff were friendly and very convenient. You schedule & drop off at your designated time, pay on app, & they give you a ticket. Be sure to take a picture in case you lose it. I would use this service again. read more

I was disappointed with my experience here. For the prices they charge-$3.75 per wash and $3 for just 35 minutes of drying-the place should be much cleaner and the machines more up to date. The washers and dryers look like they could use serious maintenance and cleaning. There are only a couple of folding counters, and they're very small, which makes it inconvenient if you have more than a load or two. On top of that, the store connected to the building feels overpriced and adds to the sense that customers are being taken advantage of. Overall, I wouldn't wash clothes here again. There are far better laundromats in San Diego with cleaner facilities,updated machines, and fairer prices. read more

My son needed to wash his clothes while we were on a college visit so we walked to this laundromat. The young woman working met us and let us know the cost and how to get change, which was at the convenience store connected to the laundromat. The gentleman behind the register was really nice and personable. We walked to a local restaurant while waiting on the load to wash, and walked around again while waiting on the dryer. The young woman working chatted with one of my son's about why we were visiting and talked to me about things to do. It was an unexpected trip, but pleasant! read more

Expensive ($20 minimum) for a small load and very slow, but cheaper than using the service at a hotel, which would have charged me $20 for just four pairs of socks alone. The staff seems to mostly work at the liquor store next door. They did an acceptable job with the washing and folding. I visited this laundromat when visiting downtown San Diego, because my Airbnb had my washer/dryer. Google states this business offers credit card payments, which a young female confirmed I could use to get coins for the machines. But, I had to head next door to the convenience store to complete the transaction. The young male at the counter rudely asked how much I needed and began to pullout the coins, then as I gave him my debit card said, "only cash". I was so confused. I went back to the young female and asked what was going on and she walked me over to the young man, who rudely said "I already told you cash only. Use the ATM". I came from out of town and was super stressed when I saw that my sunscreen exploded in my bag and got all over my clothes. They washed and folded my bag/clothes all within a few hours. The plumbing at my apartment building is clogged. I came here11/9/21. Washing & drying here is much cheaper than my apartment building. I dried all my laundry for 2.50. At my building it cost 3.50. It's clean here. It's attached to a liquor store/deli. Handy if youre hungry. They also offer fluff & fold. $2/pound minimum 10 pounds. It wasn't busy when I went. It was easy to get a large washer. All my laundry cleaned for 4.75. Reasonable. I also love the fact that i live 6 blocks away and get exercise pushing laundry back and forth. I had a last minute Alteration for a jumpsuit that o planned to wear to my holiday party. The seamstress was so accommodating, she was able to get the alterations done in such a short period of time. We here here for a week for a conference, but the company put us in a boutique hotel that isn't meant for long stays, so that meant going to a laundromat a few days in. I was iffy on this one due to the reviews, but I was able to get detergent (no dryer sheets) for $2 a pod at the liquor store. They do charge a 50 cent Visa fee (I don't care, this is purely informational). I was able to do my one load of laundry for $10: I used a large washer for 5.75. The dryers start at 2.50 for 35 minutes, and an additional quarter for 5 minutes. I used the remaining $4.25 in quarters for the dryer and got 70 minutes out of it. I only ended up drying them for 55 mins and they were good to go. To note: I had about 1 and a half full loads of clothes. I gave 4 stars as they only had 3 chairs and multiple dryers were broken. This was fine since it wasn't super busy on a Sunday afternoon, but again, just passing along information. read more

However, their service wasn't all that great. The two associates of the adjacent liquor/convenience store processed the pick up. They were both unnecessarily rude during the entire transaction. Even though I wouldn't use this service again, because I shelled out $90 plus dollars due to having more clothes than I thought, 4th Ave did a phenomenal job. After spending a week in SD with my kiddos while my husband was on his business trip, I knew at some point I would either have to suck it up and go to a wash-and-fold, or have someone come pick up our dirty clothes. I reached out to 4th Avenue on Yelp the evening before and was able to get someone pick up our big bag the morning and drop it off before 6 p.m. the same day. The people who worked on our clothes split my 3- and 2-year-old boys' garments from mine and my husband's threads. Everything was perfectly folded in a gift-like bags with a nice note explaining their sorting. For $2/pound, this place is pretty great. Just make sure you weigh your clothes, or you'll pay. read more

This laundromat was quite the experience. I would like to start off by saying the staff is super friendly and very quickly will fix issues. I am giving it only 2 stars is for a couple of reasons. 1. At lest 6 of their driers were broken. 2. There were quite a few homeless people in there. Yes they should be able to do laundry but all of thier bags and extremely dirty clothing were on the counter unwashed which made it feel very unclean. 3. There was a homeless man changing in the corner. I told the manager and he told the guy to stop but didn't kick him out. He was not doing laundry either. I went to 4th Ave Cleaners today and bought a pack of chewing gum and asked for a roll of quarters to wash. The total for these two items was almost 18 dollars and I asked the cashier why - he replied that he charged me 4 or 5 dollars for cash back on my card. Well, the cash back was to enable me to spend my money in his laundry, but I didn't argue with him. I have no car and I needed to do laundry, so I just ate it despite the fact that he suggested that he did this because I am female. As a matter of fact I was born a male and was sexually reassigned when I was about 4 years old due to an accident. Not his business and I didn't mention it, but I was pissed, I stayed pissed and I'm still pissed. If you're going to muscle me around with random bigotry, at least get your facts straight. I got my laundry done, but was pushed, blocked, harassed and insulted. I was also threatened by a guy with a handsome gray pitbull and when I failed to get scared, the same guy threatened to hurt his dog just to ruin my day. What?? Coin-Op Laundry in Case of Emergencies ONLY. I had a last minute wash that needed to happen for my daughter and found this place was open until 2:00 am! After a long-day I was happy to see that some laundromats stay open late and since I would not meet the 9:30 pm last wash rule of my local place, I decided to give it a go! The price for a washer is too high compared to all other areas in San Diego and the dryers do not dry. I spent about $3 in quarters to dry one load of laundry. I noticed other people there kept adding more change to their dryers as well. There are no chairs and not as clean as other places. Parking is horrible as it's on 4th Ave which is a busy street. So if this is your absolute last resort, then try it out, but bring more money than you think you will need. read more

I called 4th ave cleaners at 5 pm yesterday and needed my clothes done the same day. It was an emergency because we were leaving to Miami the next day. I spoke with Jeremy and he was great. He ensured us the clothing would be ready in under 2 hours. We came back and the clothes were folded and placed in white department style bags wrapped as if they were a gift.
