WORST dry cleaning business in Hillcrest! Every negative review of this place states poor service, high costs for bad craftmanship, and immoral business practices. You will bring your clothes back for a second wash to remove stains and the "professional leather work" is clearly done by an amateur. Save yourself money and a huge headache by taking your business to Ogden's Cleaners, as they only charge $7 to remove a stain from a garment and they won't lie to you about what they can or cannot do. The 50+ yr old manager John will lie to your face and gaslight you in order to avoid facing accountability for his improper work. The comment he left on this review shows his lying nature, as I was never issued a refund for anything I paid for, and him only focusing on a refund and not about every other issue shows his manipulative and untruthful character. He went as far as to say he has footage of conversations of he and I to try to intimidate me into settling with poor craftmanship and not ask for a refund since my designer bags that he worked on have lost value due to the poor quality of work. When he did this, I told him to pull the footage to review, but he got even more upset, further proving he had no intention of doing so if he was so quick to backtrack on his statement because the footage would have proven he was lying through his teeth. He told me several times over the course of 2+ months of conversations that he can clean, remove stains, and repair leather to designer bags that I had, in order for me to sell them. So when I asked to have my items be sent back to be cleaned more than once, as any person, I was upset. But at the 3rd time of me clearly pointing out stains that were still visible, or where new colors of stains miraculously appeared on my bags thay weren't there before, when I finally asked for a refund of the smalleest, colorful bag, John responded with, "No. We removed the stains thay were pointed out." Again, no refund issued, but John is living in a world where receipts and facts don't matter. So if you want $600+ worth of work done over close to 3 months for horrible service, only to get half ass work, come to Veribest Drycleaners. read more

I came here the first time for dry cleaning and alterations and it was a great experience. I came back a second time to get sweatpants altered to be shorter and a jacket that needed the pockets sewn. I had dog hair on the sweatpants because they had been in my car and I have a border collie that sheds. I was told I needed to go home and clean my clothes before bringing them back! So I drove across town and because I didn't bring a lint roller, I was turned away. Here we are a week later and I am back and I was just told that the woman who does alterations isn't here today so I need to come another day. So that's over an hour of drive time for me for both of these visits and I still cannot get two simple things sewn. Extremely disappointing. Won't be coming back. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a business. I was in San Diego for a conference and when I unpacked my luggage, my cat had peed on my clothes. They were open on a Sunday and said over the phone that they could have my clothes ready by the next day. When I arrived (after a half hour drive), they refused to take my clothing. I asked the woman if she could recommend another dry cleaner and she said that they were the only cleaners open on a Sunday in ALL of San Diego (which I assumed was a major metropolitan area). I was upset since I now had no clothes for the next several days of meetings, so she suggested that I buy clothes from Goodwill. A few blocks away I found an open dry cleaner who did a fantastic job. I've been going here for dry cleaning for 2 years now. I needed a dress hemmed and decided to get it done here since I also had clothes to drop off. My dress is no where near my desired length and seems barely hemmed. I called in to see if they could fix their mistake, but was told I should have tried it on before leaving and would need to pay again. It was my first time getting alterations done and no one told me I had to try it on first. I just trusted that they did a good job. Pay twice for my alterations to be correct? I wish I had read reviews from the past clients complaints of having their garments returned in a worse condition. I'd like to point out the fact that the overall manager is polite. However, I had a negative experience with Grieci, both in dropping off my clothes and picking up. To start, she is very pompous and does not listen. She assured herself that my clothes had an oil stain which it did not. Then she confidently told me the stain could be taken out. Upon arrival, a nice lady gave me my clothes but something told me to double check before I left. The stain wasn't better, it was worse! They did not have the decency to even let me know that they were not able to get the stain out until I called it out. At that point, Grieci in her arrogance said "It was already like that", which was a lie. And I told her I had pictures if she was going to continue on and she stopped talking. The manager did not charge me (how could you when my clothes were ruined) and I left. Grieci needs to be retrained on proper customer service as she is disgustingly rude, even to her own co-workers. She talks to you like you're a little kid. Rest assured, I learned my lesson-- to never come back to this dry cleaner again. read more

Great experience with my wedding dresses at Veribest! I initially reached out via Yelp to get a quote to have my dress cleaned and pressed prior to my wedding. I bought a sample dress that needed a little extra love before my big day. They were able to press and steam my dress within a week and it was so bright and white for my big day. I brought my dress back after my wedding to be cleaned and preserved. I also brought my second dress to be cleaned. They charged around $325 for my dress cleaning and preservation with my $50 coupon that I'd received during my pre wedding cleaning. I'm sure the prices varies by the type of dress. So glad I found Veribest! I just picked up my wedding gown and am very pleased with the service and results! On our wedding day, my husband and I did a lot of walking across the streets and along the sidewalks in downtown San Diego during our bridals and the train of my wedding gown got pretty stained. I first requested a quote from my local dry cleaner since my husband had been frequenting them to get his suits dry cleaned, but I soon became very nervous as I was unsure if they were familiar with the material of the wedding gown and if they would be confident with treating the different fabrics with the right products. I then found Veribest here on Yelp! I saw the other reviews from brides who had brought their dresses in and was much more comfortable working with Veribest to clean my dress. The whole process was very easy! I was able to speak to John who told me it would take about a month turnaround time and gave me a very reasonable quote. We established a pick up date and they stayed true to the deadline! John texted me personally on the morning of the pick up date to say it was ready along with a picture of the gown. I inspected the entirety of the gown and it looked and felt like new! I also brought in the dress my sister wore to the wedding that somehow obtained stains that we could not wash out for the life of us. Due to the stains, John told me it would require both wet and dry cleaning, which was still very reasonably priced. I was able to pick it up the same week and all the stains were gone! Veribest is about a 30 minute drive for me, but I would definitely come here again especially for clothing of more delicate fabrics. read more

I cannot recommend Veribest Cleaners enough. I brought them my late mother's wedding dress--now a 20+ year old gown made from delicate wool-silk--that had never been cleaned after her wedding. Veribest Cleaners? More like Veriworst pricing, quality, and service. I dropped off a Tuxedo to be altered and have the sleeves shortened, pants hemmed, and buttons placed for a wedding the following week. The tailor told me that in order to have it ready on time (5 days) that I would have to tip her. This is where the trouble started. Every single alteration that was made was sloppy and unprofessional. The cuffs weren't straight and neither were the pants. They didn't even bother to touch the lining of the suit which was hanging past the cuff. It is very clear that the workmanship was either done in the dark or the tailor was either untrained or hard of sight. The owner, John, also seemingly hard of sight, justified the in excusable work by being Italian. I had to take the alterations to a large department store and pay their fee for expedited service to fix the mess that Veribest made. When I came back to demand a refund, the owner John decided to to hide in the back office and have his cashier lie for him saying he wasn't there. Unfortunately for them I had just seen him standing outside when I pulled into the parking lot. For charging absolute top dollar for their services (double what department stores charge), the quality and customer service is unbecoming of their name. I would not trust John and his team to tie their shoes in the morning, let alone handle expensive alterations.
