All of my clothing looks so much better when they leave Hillcrest cleaners. I highly recommend Hillcrest cleaners for dry cleaning. I have been coming to Hillcrest cleaners for ten years now for dry cleaning, laundry, as well as alterations. The owners are extremely friendly and honest, and their work is top notch. I used to get all of my shirts dry cleaned, however, they started informing me which shirts should be dry cleaned to preserve the colors, and which could simply be laundered and pressed. This was despite the decreased cost of laundering the shirts. I've even continued making the trip back to Hillcrest after moving to Little Italy a couple of years ago. Alex's alterations are amazing! He is extremely talented and knowledgeable at what he does. He's even saved a few botched alteration jobs that I was forced to get done at other places. (Read: groomsman alterations gone wrong.) They used to be cash/check only, but now they accept cards, Google pay, Apple Pay, etc., so it's even more convenient. read more

Best Alterations in SoCal! I have been coming here for over 6 years for all my custom suites, dry cleaning, my wife's Halloween costumes, etc. The dad and son are so sweet and really listen to your wands and needs. EXTREMELY RUDE and employee was being a smart a$$. I took my business elsewhere in a heart beat after how I was treated. Within the first 30 seconds of being inside this business, I was insulted for having a cheap comforter and then again insulted for not owning a second comforter to use while mine takes a week to clean. He would not give me a day when it would be done by because he quote "wanted to prioritize peoples expensive shirts over mine and couldn't predict how much business would be coming in" WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD A DRY CLEANERS. Way to make the customer feel sh**ty. Do not give them your money. They might be cheap but they are RUDE. Go down the street to Veribest, they were insanely nice and only a little more expensive but their turnaround was only 1.5 days. read more

This place came up when I googled quick alterations in San Diego. Called their main number and the man on the phone quoted me it is 6-8 weeks for one singular dress. Insane! And his logic was that "that's just how many people come here" Maybe hire another seamstress? Wild, anyways won't be taking my business here. read more

Went for dry cleaning, so I can't comment on alternations, but I was very happy with the service. The guy was super friendly greeting me. He gave me an estimated day my stuff would be done, and said he would text when ready. It was done on time, and the delicate items I took looked great. Again a friendly greeting at pickup, and his interaction with others looked great as well. Found my new dry cleaning spot for sure! read more

I have been going here for 3 years for alterations. The guy is not polite but his work is ok. Today I went in and he said a month and half before I could get my dresses back. I asked if he could do it in 2 weeks and he said look at all this and motioned to all the clothes he had to do. I guess they didn't want or need my business. Then said he didn't think I needed them shorter and wouldn't make a difference. Walked off and went back to work. I left and won't ever go back. read more

I have been going to Hillcrest Cleaners for 8 years. I could go somewhere closer but I drive 25 min just to frequent their business. I lived many places and have never experienced a Cleaners like this one. The young man who is always at the count is so articulate and has the best interpersonal skills. They are EXCELLENT - honest, never damaged anything, always on time, meticulous, tackles any stain I throw at them and reasonable priced. They stand behind their work. It's such a pleasure to go in and drop off items. The young man always takes the time to inform me about fabrics, the fabric care, stain removal and knows the machines as well. Great experience with this business. I had a vintage suede trench coat that had glue on it and they were able to send it to one of their partners to lift it without at all damaging the finish or fine material. From start to finish, they were incredibly helpful and considerate. The shop manager showed an enthusiasm and friendliness that I've never experienced at a dry cleaner's before. This place is the best. I've been coming here for about 7 years and I am never disappointed. They do a great job with my suits (I wear one everyday to work) and my sweaters (for when it gets chilly in San Diego). They're always quick and super friendly. Great prices and super nice staff! Excellent location. They have a flyer on their wall that compares their prices to other near-by locations. Theirs are definitely the best! I am super glad I found this spot when I moved here and didn't have to spend time (and money) at other places. This will be my spot to continue to go! They even texted me when my jacket was done being cleaned- great customer service!!! Just minus 1 star because they only accept cash. I never have cash so I have to make a special visit to the ATM for this... it's worth it though because of the price and friendly staff. read more

This is one of San Diego's hidden gems! I have been using Hillcrest Cleaners for years for all of my dry cleaning and alterations. I have to get most of my pants hemmed and I have always had a great experience with the tailor and his attention to detail. The prices are extremely competitive for the area. I wish they would of told me that the comforter I picked up was still wet. I didn't know till I took it out of the bag days later after I picked it up, and noticed a strange mildew smell. So great, it's worse then when I took it in and I'll have to take it elsewhere to dry clean again read more

Established in 1994.

D-LUX Cleaners was first established in 1994 as a pick-up and delivery service out of an office of 70 sq. ft as a family business. Within 1 year, our company was serving 16 large San Diego Hotels such as the Bahia, Quality Suites, and the Catamaran to name a few. Within 2-years, we were serving most of the Camp Pendleton marine base. Since 2001, D-LUX cleaners had begun to operate one of the largest plants at 6000 sq. ft, using some of the most technologically advanced dry-cleaning equipment on the market. It grew to over 30 employees, and many store-branch locations all over San Diego in Del Mar, Hillcrest, Chula Vista, Kearny Mesa, and many other pick-up/drop-off locations inside the VONS and ALBERTSON'S supermarkets.

A single load costs $3.25 and a triple load costs about $4, and everything is paid by quarters here so make sure to bring cash or your coins. There's no option to pay with card in the machines. There are a few chairs and tables for you to rest at while you wait for your laundry so you could even bring a snack here and eat, if you're hungry. Parking is easy here since this laundromat has about 10 spots in the back. You can access the lot by going into an alley off Howard Avenue. My first error was choosing this place from the beginning. The second, was trusting the owner with my maid of honor suit. The third, was paying him (more like being ripped off) for damaging my suit and falsely advertising his professional services. The intent of my review serves as a warning to folks hoping to get their clothing altered to their heart's delight and to shine a light onto the lack of professionalism, terrible service, and incompetent skills/experience of the owner, Edris. Please, stay away! To start off, save your money and find a different establishment/tailor to alter your clothing! This dude does NOT know what he's doing, especially for the exorbitant amount he charges! I suspect he may be scamming folks. You should consider contributing your money towards a business that deserves it, staff you can trust, and for peace of mind knowing that your clothing won't be destroyed. When I initially called Edris, he had told me via phone that he would be able to alter my suit within 48 hours. Since the wedding I was attending was just a week away and I was in a time crunch, I committed too preemptively. I was initially relieved that I had found a tailor that could alter my suit in such a short time. Boy oh boy, I hadn't a clue the heartbreak and disappointment I'd experience in just a few days. Four days later (outside of the 48 hour window I was initially told), I arrived to B Street Cleaners with my suit, excited to have it altered to my heart's delight. The fitting seemed lackluster. Edris didn't really seem to care about fitting my suit in a way that aligned with my body. He stuck some pins in a few places and would say "that's good" To which I'd respond, "no" and give him direction on what I wanted. I had specifically asked that my suit be tailored to form-fit my body, as it was visibly too baggy/large on me. He didn't take any measurements and didn't alter the suit in a way that fit my body. He seemed to do the bare minimum and it was as if he had never altered a suit before. This should've been the red flag warning me to take my suit and walk out the door. Ultimately, I claim responsibility in making a poor choice in trusting Edris with my wedding suit. However, he is accountable for destroying my suit AND - the cherry on top - leaving a blood stain on the inside of my jacket. He didn't disclose that information nor did he even make an attempt to clean it when I picked it up. And ot course, I didn't notice it until I flew back home and tried it on for my family to see. This was absolutely disturbing and I was appalled that someone who calls themselves a professional didn't even try to fix or mitigate this risky and hazardous mistake. Edris ruined and destroyed my suit with his lousy alterations. Rather than doing what I had asked and what was agreed upon (to have my pants shortened/hemmed from the bottom and to have my jacket shortened & form-fitted so it didn't look so baggy), he made unauthorized alterations. Instead of hemming them from the bottom, he shortened my pants from the crotch/inseam. So much so, that when I tried them on, the seat rode up my buttocks and the pants were incredibly uncomfortable. As a professional, who does that?!? There's no worse thing than to have a wedding suit destroyed and made unwearable, and that was the experience I had after taking my suit to B Street Cleaners. Also, if you happen to be someone in the LGBTQ+ community, I STRONGLY encourage you to go elsewhere, as you may face the risk of having your clothing intentionally ruined. I don't understand how a business that has HUNDREDS of five-star reviews, produces this kind of horrible work and service. Please save yourself the headache, the heartbreak, and from being ripped off/scammed. There are plenty of other tailors out there who will grant you your monies worth, and adjust your clothing to fit your form and make look beautiful.
