This place has the most amazing and helpful people! I was looking for a perishable box to send my brother some frozen food items; though this place doesn't sell it they were willing to help me find a place that does! Others had just said: "sorry no we don't sell that here" and hang up. Btw I called in to ask before driving to another 100th place! I've been here twice when I needed documents notarized. I also sent mail from here when I needed to send mail certified and didn't want to make the second trip over to the post office. The service is always excellent and the owner is very friendly and helpful. 4th Street Postal is not the closest place to my house but after reading the Yelp reviews for the place near me in Signal Hill I decided to go here. I'm happy I did and will go again and again for all my shipping needs! read more

I needed a Notary and searched on Yelp for a place to go. I saw that 4th Street Postal was super close to my home and had great reviews, so I thought I would give it a shot. When I called to inquire about the Notary prices and services, the lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful (which now I can assume was Michelle). Once I had a chance to go into the shop, I had the pleasure of having Michelle help me. She was so sweet and great to work with which is not easy to find when it comes to basic services and needs. Stopped going here a few years ago when I realized how much they take advantage of customers -- they will charge you four times the normal US postal service rate to mail regular packages. I made the mistake of trying them again one more time and guess what; they're still a ripoff! I should have gone back and asked for a refund but I'm comforting myself knowing that I will NEVER go back here ever again. It's terrible that the post office further down the street closed down; now basic services like mail have to be privatized and the public suffers. read more

Everyone I've met here has been so friendly, helpful, quick, and on it. I've used them for notary, passport photo, and mailing services. I don't live in this neighborhood, but they are worth the drive for me - and there is always a non-metered parking space right in front! read more

You thought the days of great down to earth customer service is over. Not at this place. Took in a flyer for copies to post for my lost dog...and before they took the copies, I was shown some ways online to register my pet on a lost and found site. I walked out with a better flyer than I made with my chicken scratch, and when I had left I think I couldn't believe that caring compassionate people still exist! The girl that helped me remind me of my daughter who in fact is an angel, and an animal lover! Thank you guys for your incredible customer service! read more

Great Ma and Pa owned local shop. The woman is super sweet. Once I was just dropping off a labeled/prepaid FedEx box and she worried I wouldn't have the tracking number, so she photocopied the label for free. I didn't ask. She insisted. I do not typically pay to ship, as my company tends to send prepaid return labels. HOWEVER, I do make point to pick up stamps here or purchase small odds and ends I might otherwise have bought at Staples or Target. Will most definitely be using this store for all of my personal holiday shipping. Very happy I found this place. Good people. People that make you want to give them your business. Honest and helpful too! read more

This place sure beats the actual post office! They offer many services and the lady there is super friendly and helpful. They also sell some cute little items and some amazing lotions/soaps that are locally distributed (I believe). The only sad thing is for some reason she is unable to ship my packages to my friend on a military base...it just wouldn't work. I've never seen it busy, either. This place is the best little post office to visit if you live nearby! read more

Just had the GREATEST experience here! It was brief as I was only dashing in for a single color copy, but it made my day. Instantly greeted by bright cheery women who's smiles made me forget I was even in a mood, so quick to help, and engaged instantly in small talk while also taking care of my copy...well, I'm coming back here for anything I need forever. Rating: I've been a loyal customer of 4th Street Postal, and while sad that Michelle isn't here anymore,I'm also pleased with the new ownership. I also do not think they are the same as the post office, unlike Amy, who was demanding privileges that this company could not provide. I've been a customer, like I said, since Michelle was here, which is quite some time now, and I must say that their mail services have been consistently outstanding. The owner's dedication to providing reliable mailboxes and prompt delivery is commendable. Recently, I had the opportunity to witness a situation involving a fellow customer, Amy, who was seeking assistance with passport renewal. While I empathize with Amy's frustrations, it's crucial to acknowledge that she was without the necessary documents for the process and placed demands on the owner that he was not capable of. He is a business, not the post office, and she was demanding rights and privileges that they couldn't provide, and she was embarrassed for not having the proper documents. The owner remained composed, patient, and understanding throughout the interaction despite Amy's evident frustration. As a witness, I fully support the owner's approach in handling the situation professionally and courteously. Customers need to take responsibility for their issues, and in this case, Amy's lack of paperwork was not the fault or responsibility of the owner.
