I would like to start off by specifying the ONLY reason I even gave 3 stars was because of our bartender/server. She was a lot of fun and help with recommendations. Howeverrrrr, the food was a huge let down. The reviews made this place look like we were going to have a gastropub experience. What we got was 7 overly fried pickle chips for NINE DOLLARS. The table next to us got 11 pickle chips for the same price. Ironically you get like a whole pound of chicken bites for the same price. Riddle me that, batman. We tried the sweet chili chicken thighs, the burger of the week and the steak tips. The burger was delicious and my partner is still talking about it a day later. The fries are a 10 out of 10 if you love fries, this is the place to go. They were even delicious when cold. I had the steak tips with fries. I asked for them to be medium. Oddly they were all different temps. I had some that were med, well done and raw. No idea how that happened but nevertheless they were perfectly seasoned and marinated. After enjoying a show nearby, the fam headed here for a quick dinner. This small place is stuck back between a few other larger places, so you might miss it but don't! On a Sunday evening, it was easy to get seats, and service was quick and efficient. Besides not having chicken available, overall, the food offerings were really good, well-seasoned, and thoughtful. A pretty cool ass bar. 4th Wall is a good place especially at night. It stays open later than anything else around this. Go take care of the late night munchies. The only bad thing is the loud mouth girls who invade this and make your ears bleed with their loud ass shrieks. I was skeptical that the food was as good. It certainly is a good place for getting wasted late at night. Thankfully the food holds up. Drinking on an empty stomach is bad. Everything I've had here so far is terrific. A lot of cocktails. The prices are typical for around here mostly. It's about $10 for something like Jameson. The food is worth spending the money on so save your money for that. I like the Soy Ginger Brussels. It's $13 for a plate. These are tossed in sweet ginger sauce. On top is roasted red onions. This is probably the healthiest thing on the entire menu, which is otherwise filled with fried stuff. Good for some fun late at night but there's a pretty big negative about it. It's popular with those getting out of the clubs on the same block that get lots of annoying people. I met Josh when my sister's boyfriend (they're still dating and he is a really great guy) was unable to go to her semi-formal like 8 years ago so she asked me if I'd attend as her plus one Josh was her roommate's plus one. This place is the real deal. Something tells me it's underrated. I walked here from my hotel (Courtyard Boston) and grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender provided excellent service. I had a cocktail made with matcha, it wasn't the best but he mixed it well. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fries for an entree. When I tell you that's one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had!!!! My Lord that chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful!!!! The fries, fantastic!! Maple BLT: The bacon was generous and definitely tasted like maple syrup was on it. The fries were tasty, too! I had the Sangria, which was served with ice and in a tall glass. I've never Ehpad it like that before, but since it had been in the low 90s that day, it was refreshing. So I went in & it was very very busy but that doesn't mean the faithful customers shouldn't be able to call in. I ended up here on a whim with friends, it was one of the few bars open after 10pm on a weeknight. I did come during the holiday season, but the music was great. Sometimes you never know what you will get with the playlist at a bar, but this one had enjoyable music. Everything from R&B, to Hip-Hop, to throwbacks. I had messaged the bar first to rectify a situation before posting a review here or anywhere else. Got no response. Called multiple times on multiple days while they are open, no one answers the call. Here's my message to them that went unanswered: (Summary: watch your bill here, had a bartender change the tip amount on the bill the day after my visit) Hello, I attempted to call a few times to speak with a manager regarding an issue, but no one wants to answer the phone. So I'll send the message this way. I was in the 4th Wall on Monday 5/12 around 10:45pm, after a show had let out nearby. There were perhaps 4 or 5 other people in the bar at the time, hardly busy. The bartender behind the bar hardly acknowledged me for the first 5 minutes I was seated, and finally when he did come over, he never said a word, but only nodded dismissively when I asked if the kitchen was still open (It was my first time in the establishment). I ordered a roast beef sandwich and a beer. The bartender brought over the beer, again without a word, and then I never had any additional contact with him again. I was getting frustrated after nearly 25 minutes without the food coming out on a slow night, and was about to ask for the check for the beer only when finally it did come out. I ate my food with an empty beer glass that had been that way for over 10 minutes. No big deal, there's poor service everywhere, maybe he was having a bad night. I finished my food and got the check, which was for $30.80, which I paid with my Capital One QS card ending 6053. I filled out the totals and added a $1.20 tip, which was commensurate with the "service" I was provided, and thought nothing of it. I left the bar and went home. This morning I woke up and got an alert from my credit card company that asked if I had left a 40% tip on my bill. I checked the charge and saw that the tip had been altered from $1.20- which would have made the overall total $32.00 - to a $12.00 tip, bringing the final charge to $42.80. This is not only incredibly immoral, fraudulent, and wrong, but also illegal. It's theft. Clearly the bartender or whoever was reconciling the slips decided that he wanted to take a little extra, because who really checks their receipts days after the fact? It was not an error, it wasn't a typo, I deliberately put $1.20 to round it to $32.00, which was written in the total field. Seems to me that someone at the 4th Wall (I wont accuse anyone, because I'm not sure who did it, but my guess would be your bartender) decided they would edit the $1.20 by adding an extra zero and moving the decimal place, and then changing the total from a 3 to a 4 ($32.00 to $42.80), maybe by adding a little circle over the first 0 of the cents field. I thought I'd reach out to you to address the situation before I leave any negative reviews all over the internet. I will be issuing a chargeback for the erroneous tip in the amount of $12.00, because I drank the beverage and ate the food. I'm an honest person, unlike the people who employ at the 4th Wall. How many people has this person done this to? Please feel free to go back into the slips from Monday night 5/12 around 11:15pm and see if there's any cross outs or wayward decimal points. I made no mistakes while filling out the slip, so if there's edits, it's obvious that there has been manipulation, and thus, theft. It's 10 bucks, so it's nothing wild, but think of 10 bucks here and there from customers who come in to patronize your establishment. Having someone on staff who would steal from your customers is not a great look for your business. I'd like a response to this message with a photo of the merchant copy of the receipt along with an explanation how this could have occurred, and if any action is going to take place. I'll await this response before posting any reviews, but I'd like this response before close of business tomorrow. I appreciate your time and attention on this matter. Thank you. read more

During my stay in Boston this was the first bar i went too. The ambience of the bar is very home feeling as if I was in California, the locals made it seem relaxing as opposed to the bars in the area playing loud music with younger crowds. They also have a Music selection station where you can download the app and play what you want but be mindful during football games, football is big here on the east coast I never knew. The food was that of a five-star restaurant, quick & tasty ! The male bartender was very attentive & ensured us on which drinks would be best. If you come with groups there's plenty of seating I would ask management if you could merge the tables together. We went before a show based on positive reviews, but the only positive about the place was it wasn't crowded. The food (chicken sandwich) was horrible and the service was so-so. Very thin chicken with deep fried breading that was thicker than the chicken. I got a side salad that was literally romaine lettuce with tomatoes.
