Well it is across the street from the Great Lakes PX so no guarantees, also it is not a drive-in. I personally find it funny when a place has a separate listing for anything listed as "Maxwell Street" as I have lived in the CHI area for 20 years and I still dont get it, well except that I will never order anything listed as "Maxwell." Pretty good gyros! Not too expensive for just the gyro sandwich either, they had a variety of shake flavors and slushy flavors. Salads looked really good as well, they also have soft serve which a family was enjoying while we waited for our food. Wait time was not bad at all we were in and out of there in about 10 minutes! We will definitely be going back to try some cheese fries and see how their shakes are! read more

Pretty standard hot dog stand kind of place...basically the same from a nutritional standpoint as the myriad fast food places that surround it on this stretch of Green Bay , in pretty close proximity to the Navy base and housing. It's good if you want something different than Arby's or McDonald's, but, like most places of its ilk, the experience is gonna fall somewhere in between "food truck" and "greasy spoon diner." Pros: -Fries were hot, crinkle cut, crisp, and salty. It's hard to screw up fries, but if you serve them to me and they're not soggy and don't taste like freezer, I'm good. -Split and grilled Polish was served reasonably quickly on a decent bun, and the nice lady provided me with pickles and grilled onions to order. -Pleasant service. Cons: -The broken pane on the front door being covered over with plywood? Not especially inviting. And not even new plywood, like it just happened. Either fix your glass, or if you can't keep a glass door in the neighborhood, replace the door altogether. -I'm no priss, but the place as a whole could a stand a thorough scrubbing. Not a bad place to stop for average street meat if you are all fast fooded out in the area and pretty low maintenance. read more

Food incredible. Value of food for price very good. Bathroom door lock missing. I visited in the winter and the temperature inside the restaurant was almost as cold as outside. Even the bathroom had space heaters. Not very fun to eat a meal wearing your coat and winter hat. I hope these things get fixed as the food was really good. read more

It has been years since I was here last and surprise, not much has changed. This is THE BEST fast food restaurant in this area. From burgers to fries, hot dogs to sausages, they even have gyros. If you want something good and it is on their menu, then rest assured it is spectacular. Beware coming here during the lunch hour if I remember correctly, this place is always poked then. Though this little Chicago Dog eatery is not located in the best of neighborhoods, it is one of the places that serves decent food. Agreed, not the healthiest grub, but the hot dogs are decent and the food is relatively cheap. First time eating here. Saw the sign for gyros, so thought I would try. The gyro was pretty good. Also, get fries, Cole slaw, and a drink with a meal. Fries were so-so along with the slaw. This is the place to go if you really have no clue what you want to eat, cause they literally have it all. I got a gyro and it was the best one that I have had a long time. I also got a chocolate malt with it and it was really good as well. The wife got a chili cheese dog and said the chili was a little offish. Other than that it was a great place with a lot of menu options and the selection on soft serve and slushies it really is a great place to just go to get some good food for a great price. Good place. While it's called "drive-in" they have no car-hops. That's OK though, since there's inside seating. My daughter lives at Great Lakes NTS (which is right next to here), so we hit the place two or three times over my two-week visit. You can't go wrong for two Chicago-style dogs, fries and a soda for around $5. Their prices are low, their food is good, their service is fast. What more can you ask for in a restaurant of this type? I was asked if I wanted it "Wet" or "Dry" (To me a sign that somebody understands Italian Beefs") Naturally, ordered it "wet" and received it just like I like it...drenched!! Add some giardieniera peppers, and Iwas a happy camper! One thing that I was happy about, was the sandwich was piping hot! It wasn't taking a warm bath somewhere and lukewarm juice. This is right near my work, so I always stop in for a salad or a super standard gyro (alliteration galore!). It's better than the Wendy's down the road but no 5-star restaurant. If you feel like some stereotypical comfort foods, try a wet Italian beef (not a euphemism).
