I paid him good money to fix a garage man door, and it still hasn't worked right. First, he did a shortcut and replaced part of a door frame, saying that's all it needed and it didn't work, but he still charged me anyway and said it was good, which it is obviously not. I explained it to him how it did not work, and he brushed it off. I have to throw my shoulder & hip into the door every time to get it to latch, after I paid him to fix it and he said it was good. I also had him put a security gate on the man door to my garage, and it was not done right despite my extensive preparation with extra materials that I paid for, all brand, new materials, primed and painted and prepped for him, at the job site, and he brushed it off, saying it was unnecessary. He was wrong The security gate swings into its own frame, always has to be yanked out. It's ridiculous. I showed him and he brushed it off. Hey Jack, this is your many times client that referred work for you from other friends of mine, and we all paid. if you feel like coming back and fixing your bad work, let me know, and I can modify this review. Thanks for moving to Apple Valley, but you should really come back and fix the problems you created back here in Yucca Valley, that you got paid for, and where your past customers are suffering from your work.

I even considered trying to do the job myself until just a little bit of research showed how dangerous a project like this is because of the springs involved. I am fairly handy, but I know enough to know I didn't want to lose a finger to save a couple bucks. I'm so happy to report my fears were unfounded when I called up Ed. He was very responsive, got there when he said he would, and delivered on the project's completion as promised. I've had so many bad experiences with home repair companies. It was totally refreshing to deal with Ed. To top it all off, the price was reasonable. Many repair companies will hold you over a barrel when they know you need to get something done quickly but Ed's fees were more than fair. Especially compared to some other businesses I called for a quote who were so high I wondered if they were trying to not get my business! While the original spring was slightly higher quality, we needed the door repaired as quickly as possible, and Mike provided exactly the prompt service and quality components we needed. We'll absolutely be returning for future work when it's time to replace the spring on our other garage door. Mike was professional, worked efficiently, and demonstrated the expertise of a true craftsman. He recently had a moment of integrity and acknowledged taking the deposit and agreed to finally refund my money. But he quickly transitioned back to lies a few weeks later and still has not return the deposit. Refer to the updated screen shots of the discussion. Do not use this unethical business. The owner is significantly lacking in character. I will update this review monthly until I receive my deposit back. I found Mike on Yelp (this same page) and he's still using the same phone number that listed on Yelp. I still have an entire text string with his same business number from 2021. Refer to the attached photo of a portion of the text string with his business phone number clearly listed. Fast forward to 2026, he sends a Yelp message agreeing to "make things right" after my most recent review. Photo attached. Now he's publicly lying about not having anything on record. I was disappointed in the lack of pricing transparency.I was quoted one price and when I received…read morethe invoice which included the down payment,and the balance once the job was completed with taxes and credit card service fee.The salesman was informative and did a visual inspection of the garage door,but I was concerned because there no break down of costs and fees associated with what the items costs.He insisted I had to give a $700 down payment before the door could be ordered. it I knew if I was getting the basic door the next morning that their third party vendor had the panels for the garage in stock.I requested not to bring a refurbished door but to provide to me the manufacturer paperwork for the door but the day of install said the manufacturer paperwork only comes with an wind insulated door.The invoice said I owed the balance of$1225.25 .The installer came and said there is no paperwork for the door and the salesman told me he would send the warranty paperwork after the remaining payment was processed.When I got the invoice again after paying the balance payment ,there were an additional $509.63 payment added without my authorization.He added the $509 and said it was for labor,gas and pickup for materials .The installer worked for 2 hours. I felt like it is a deceptive tactic the company uses.The labor costs should have been on the first of 2 invoices that I received on the 7th but modified after work was done on the 8th and not showing me the invoice prior to charging my credit card with the breakdown of costs of items and labor .Which I still don't know the price of the door.I am a senior citizen and every penny counts.I k know companies need to make a profit ,but not at the detriment of others.The salesman and installers were pleasant ,but transparency and integrity is what keeps a customer returning.Word to the wise:Don't let a salesman talk you into anything until you get another quote.Otherwise you might end up thinking about this adage:You are peeling on my leg and telling me it's raining.Would have gotten a 4 if pricing was transparent. to me.I am hurt and $500 poorer.
