It's behind the Pilot. That's important you know that because it is difficult to find and get to. Other than that, it's a great little restaurant to relax in with a burger, fries and shake. Great for the parents and kids both. Very casual and right off the exit from the 17. Service is great and everyone very is friendly. Oh man, where to begin. We stopped in on a Thursday morning for breakfast. It was very desolate and the owner, while very nice, served and handled everything. It appeared to be the cooks first day. Our table was dirty with hair. Bathrooms decently clean. We were brought room tap water half full without ice. My husband ordered coffee and the vanilla creamer he was offered came from a giant jug sitting on one of the tables. The owner/server spoke to everyone across the restaurant. He told my friend that the pancakes (stack of two we paid $8 for) were from a Krusteaz box and you just need to add water. Truly, he was nice but I'm confused how this restaurant remains in business given its current functioning compared to what it looked like back in its golden days. The menu was very limited and even ordering off that seemed to throw them off. The food actually wasn't half bad so that, plus the friendliness and effort of the owner is the redeeming qualities. We saw a single gentleman come in and leave due to not having been helped even though there was only us and one other table there. On a whirlwind weekend throughout Arizona, we wanted some lunch. Everything in Phoenix had a 90-120min so we decided to eat along the way to the Grand Canyon. On a whim, we decided to give this place a shot. It turned out to be a nice change of pace. The service was super friendly even though it was busy and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. We sat outside so we could throw some horse shoes while we waited. The server brought us beers regularly and explained our order status. What more do you need? The food was decent for bar food in the middle of nowhere. The beer was cold and cheap. And the outdoor games were a fun way to pass some time. A small community restaurant that was once a laundry mat building turned into a restaurant/bar. The original 50's diner had a good amount of business which kept the doors open. However it succumbed to a staffing issue. The lil place has been closed, bought and reopened several times within the last 2 decade's or so I believe and it's always been staffing issues. I'm not a bar scene type of person so I'm unable to say if the bar is still open. The 2 current, soon to be 3 large truck stops don't offer much opportunity to find anyone willing to work. I would have given 5 stars 3 years ago when I first started going into this establishment but I just can't now! 1 star because I called the phone number provided today to check if they were open and whomever answered the phone I couldn't hear them and they promptly hung up when I said hello. The hours posted here on Yelp are not correct and, as far as I know, this place is closed! So I found it very strange when it said that the hours for the establishment was updated 3 weeks ago. I live about a mile from them and the owner can't find anyone reliable enough to work in the restaurant to cook the menu nor take the orders and no one competent enough to work in the bar nor anyone who really wants to have a job wants to work for the owner. Nobody, including the owner wants to or knows how to properly run this business and have ended up running it into the ground. It is pretty sad and I'm really disappointed that there is nowhere to go have a decent sit down meal or a drink In my town. read more

The Food is WAY over priced. Not a lot of Selections. Their Bugers are Very Dry. Their Salads are Wilted. Nor Fresh. The service was polite enough. I recommend going up the Road a few more miles. In 2012 it used to be a good and friendly place to eat plus they would serve ham steaks the whole steak. Then they stopped with the ham when it sold. Now it's so stinking high in price. Plus they are not open Monday through Saturday or Sunday. read more

We parked in the back and entered in from the back patio side. It was one waitresses working, and after we placed our orders we waited for a little bit to get everything. The waitress was nice and kept coming by to check in on us. I ordered a breakfast item that came with eggs, hash browns, sausage and biscuits. It was pretty filling and the biscuits were full of flavor. Other people got sandwiches and a meatloaf sandwich, which they said were good. Sorry about this one. It's a hit a mess. Sometimes it's open sometimes it's not. Has changed hands several times each time they've gotten a new owner. They just really don't know what they're doing. And it's really a shame because there are no small cafés out here for the people in this area to go and eat. Craving a nice BLT. Needed to fill up the tank on the car. Perfect place. Great atmosphere. So clean. Super friendly ladies. Fun banter back and forth. When our waitress roughy the sandwich, we thought she had put 2 sandwiches in the basket. This thing was ginormous!!!! Definitely no skimping on anything. The fries are real fried potatoes!!! Eileen is so full of personality. I can see other reviews where her playfulness was not received so well. For example, my silverware came in a napkin, but it only had a knife inside. When I told her I needed a fork, she laughed and said, "No. You get the bonus set. Lets see you eat that chicken fried steak with your hands." Or something to that effect. That was funny. She was playing. I overheard her banter with a few other customers...probably locals... and she is a riot. Eileen loves life, and apparently her job. The food was tasty, served prompt & hot. The blueberry pie was hard to pass up, but we didn't finish the whole slice there (the rest was gobbled up when we got home). The music selection playing in the background was mostly 50's, but every song that came on was classic & everyone in the place, including myself ended up singing along! Homey, great food and friendly service!! What a gem tucked away in the desert. I stopped by at 1 pm on a Saturday and it was busy but I got a seat at the counter in the diner immediately. The servers were all very sweet and super quick with all the diners. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries based on Cathy E's recommendation and it was juicy and fresh! I don't normally eat hamburgers and fries (which is dumb because they are amazing) so they tasted especially delicious. The bathrooms were clean and the bar looked bright and clean. WORTH THE DRIVE! I turned to yelp when I knew we would have to make the long drive from Flagstaff to Scottsdale. We wanted to leave Flagstaff early and have breakfast on the way. But after reading reviews I decided this sounds like the best option. I was even more impressed in person! Well ok at first I was nervous, this place is in the middle of an RV park. Thank you Siri for getting me here! You walk up and see an old school telephone booth - with Super Man's outfit inside, clever and funny I like it! You walk and really feel like you have just been transported back in time. The checker board tiles, the light blues and whites, the music OMG so awesome. Total diner feel. The staff was hilarious and great! On special was a mac n cheese omelet, the chef just thought of it - yes gimmie! He even came out to check on us himself to see if it was something to have more often - both of us gave it two thumbs up. It's cheesy and tasty and great for photos (that's the yelp way is it not?). At the table next to us were some locals who are regulars, they say they love it there. Great food, friendly service and they enjoy the decor. Next door (connected) is a bar and nightclub, I bet that is fun on the weekends! There is also a back patio but it was snowing when we went so no one was out there. read more

We were excited to stop in, and pictures/reviews looked okay to try it out. Never knew it was there. -- Thank goodness we did not end up with the person who had seated my family, (woman in pics), prior to my arrival. I was ready to ask for a different server/table, as I seen how unhappy my family looked when I walked in, and found out how VERY RUDE she was. -- She had also been complaining, with one complaint being of feeling sick to her stomach. Not okay to be complaining in front of customers, and especially about being sick. Some other complaints were about things at work, wanting to leave/people waiting at her place. -- food is definitely diner food, which we were okay with prior to our arrival. -- they were out of items, (said was busy that day/Mother's day it was,.. should be ready, or go buy more of said items.), -- concerned when seeing others wearing cut off arms of shirts being worn, -- and most of all, seeing the first server/miss rudeness, touching all of the ice cream she was scooping, with her fingers/hands, to make a milkshake for someone. My husband and I had high hopes for this place because of the positive reviews on Yelp, yet to our surprise it did not live up to the reviews :( Twenty minutes after ordering I called our waitress over to ask how long before our food would be served to us, she told me there was only one cook and it would be coming out soon (would have been nice if we knew at the time of ordering). Thirty five minutes later the food was delivered to our table. Was disappointed to see less then a handful of home fries on our plate - it was actually quite pathetic considering what we paid :( Our waitress was kind yet, it wasn't busy and when we were finished we sat waiting for her to give us our bill which didn't happen until we asked another waitress. I wish this was the end of my review, yet hours later both my husband and I got sick and ended up in the bathroom multiple times.
