Beautiful ocean view restaurant! 51 Rocky Neck is located on the water in Gloucester overlooking the harbor. We came here for my husband's birthday. We shared a salad to start and for entrees I ordered their Scallops which were cooked to perfection but the sauce they were in was a bit much. My husband had their burger which was also good. Service wasn't great or attentive and since it was my husband's birthday you would think they would do something nice for him but they didn't. We did have a nice table on the water but that was all. We ended up going someplace else for dessert but we did enjoy our dinner with a view!

51 is a great place for a drink or dinner. The service is good but not intrusive. We started with the deviled eggs which were good. Then the steak cooked perfectly and scallops with spaghetti squash were very nice. A double espresso to finish. We sat inside at a window overlooking the deck and harbor which was lovely on a beautiful summer day. A heads up parking can be a problem.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The patio has wonderful views and is incredibly nice. Absolutely no complaints there! Service was friendly but very slow and inattentive. I wanted to love this place but it fell short and at an expensive price. The dishes come at a hefty price and fall short with flavors, sides, and portions. Overall, we weren't displeased but we weren't impressed.

After seeing a review from Taste of Massachusetts we had to try for ourselves, 51 Rocky Neck did not disappoint.... The monkey paw , my Thai with dark rum and honey was delicious, The upscale twist on home made sandwiches was one of the best eats we've had in a while, the mortadella sandwich and with mustard was mouth watering, the crispy crust on the egg salad sandwich was amazing really enjoyed the potato salad definitely made fresh . My favorite was the Barada berry salad with arugula and sea salt. We held the pepper on my preference and it was absolutely perfect, definitely worth the 2 Hour drive. Some restaurant notes it is handicapped accessible inside and out , the staff was on point, well staffed, holding doors and being timely with drinks and food, all with a genuine smile. not sure how to do, but there was also a water taxi available. be mindful parking is tight reservations highly recommended can't wait to go back to try more of the dinners.

Great outdoor bar that serves great food and drink!

The 51 is located in Rocky neck along the inner Gloucester harbor. The outdoor area offers amazing panoramic views. We sat at the outside bar. The staff is young, well trained, friendly and look smart in their 51 attire. The cocktails are expertly made. The halibut in the coconut broth was 5/5. I ordered the tuna Niscoise which I loved. The frito misto is quite different. It has minimal batter. The fried sage leaves elevate the dish. We loved it. The place is not cheap but for a similar cost of other Gloucester restaurants , this may be my favorite.

This is some of the cool local art you'll find!

I always use Yelp to see what is around and this looked like a good option. So glad we stopped! My husband had the swordfish. He said the best swordfish he had the whole trip!!! Nice large piece of fish and he said it had little too much blacking seasoning but he was it was amazing. I could not decide what I wanted because it all looked so good. It was lunch and I really wanted the Risotto. But, I didn't want anything super heavy. Glad I chose it anyway. Holy smokes was it delicious. The risotto was perfectly cooked and not too buttery. I have found Maine loooves their butter & often drown their dishes. This was perfect. The fish was amazing and I definitely over ate!! Thinking back, this was one of my most favorite meals in all of Maine. I still dream of that Risotto.

To start, the atmosphere is ideal for a beautiful summer night. It was airy, clean, lively and so inviting with twinkling ceiling lights. My family of 5 loved the overall decor. We also loved the view, ocean air and beautiful breeze as we ate the delicious food. We felt like we were on a Cape vacation. The food was just as satisfying. My husband said the baked haddock was the very best he's ever had. My Mediterranean salmon was also outstanding. My mother and sister raved about their appetizers, including jumbo shrimp, clams and steamers. Everything we ordered was excellent. I was especially pleased with the serving size. Some restaurants have a nice presentation, yet small serving size, but not Seaport, it had both. To top it off, the Sherry Berry is a dessert everyone must try! Perfect finish to a perfect meal. In addition to the restaurant itself and amazing food, the service was excellent. We were greeted by the extremely friendly manager, Carter, and were well taken care of by our personable waitress Kristina. She was so attentive and pleasant throughout our whole meal. Kristina was so busy, but she made us feel like we were her only party! By the end of our meal, we felt we made a friend during dinner and we will be back to see her requesting her table! We ordered: lobster roll, cioppino, fried clams and fried calamari duo platter The cioppino was our favorite part given how it includes so much and so many varieties of seafood in it. It's definitely too big for one, and it'd be your whole meal for two. Having some savory broth hit the spot after we were sweating a lot from being outside. The fried clams and calamari was a bit confusing. We saw the fried clams on the menu and was intrigued by it. The server recommended us getting the duo platter. We're not sure how that would be different than getting the fried clams and fried calamari separately as appetizers. The batter overall wasn't light and airy enough. It was a bit The clams were a bit of a letdown. It wasn't as sweet and juicy as I'd like. Multiple pieces also tasted muddy. Calamari wasn't special either. The batter was too thick on many pieces that I didn't want to eat much. Lobster roll was alright. It came with big chunks of lobster meat, but flavorwise nothing super outstanding. FYI their soft drinks come from a fountain. My coke didn't taste too watery at least.

Harbor Views, Fresh Seafood & Coastal Charm at Blue Collar Lobster Co.!…read more Few dining experiences capture the spirit of Gloucester quite like Blue Collar Lobster Co. This charming waterfront seafood spot earned an easy five stars from us and was the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal before heading to a concert at The Cut. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the setting. Located right on Gloucester Harbor next to the iconic Gloucester House Restaurant, this cozy nautical eatery offers everything you hope to find on the Massachusetts coast: refreshing sea breezes, colorful lobster boats bobbing in the harbor, seagulls soaring overhead, and spectacular waterfront views in every direction. Inside, the atmosphere is delightfully authentic. Hundreds of colorful fishing buoys hanging from the ceiling create a fun maritime feel that immediately reminds you that you're in one of New England's most historic fishing communities. Before long, the four of us were happily sampling some of the restaurant's fresh seafood favorites. We enjoyed creamy clam chowder, briny oysters on the half shell, succulent shrimp cocktail, and delicious Bang Bang shrimp, all accompanied by cold drinks and unbeatable harbor views. Every bite tasted fresh and flavorful. The ordering process is simple and convenient. Check out the menu, place your order at the window, grab a tray, and find a seat. If possible, choose a table in the screened porch overlooking the water. There's something magical about enjoying seafood while watching fishing boats come and go from the harbor just a few feet away. Blue Collar Lobster Co. offers an impressive menu featuring fresh lobster, handheld sandwiches, fried seafood platters, soups, and appetizers at reasonable prices. The combination of delicious food, friendly atmosphere, stunning scenery, and excellent value makes this a destination we'll gladly return to again and again. If you're visiting Gloucester and want an authentic waterfront seafood experience, don't miss this hidden gem on the harbor- on the Seven Seas Wharf! Highly recommended!

Hungry and with no time for deeper research, we decided to try Causeway Restaurant after seeing its high Yelp rating. The restaurant shares a small front parking lot with White Farms Ice Cream, but fortunately, we easily found parking in the back. Our first impression was that the place feels quite outdated. The tables are packed very closely together, making it difficult to get to your seat or even visit the bathroom without accidentally brushing against other diners. There's also only one bathroom for the entire restaurant, and it could definitely use some refreshing. The biggest issue during our visit was the heat. It was 86°F outside, and unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working. The restaurant was very hot, and I genuinely felt bad for the staff who had to cook and serve in those conditions. We also felt like the cutlery, dishes, and glasses were a little outdated and could use a refresh. Updating these small details would make the overall experience feel even nicer. On the positive side, Causeway is BYOB, which is a nice option. According to the menu, they charge $1 per glass for beer and wine setup. The menu prices are comparable to those at much fancier seafood restaurants. We ordered cheeseburgers from the kids' menu (ours were supposed to be medium but came out a little burnt), as well as smelt and fish-and-shrimp platters. The seafood itself was fresh, although we felt it could have used a little more seasoning and salt. The absolute best part of our experience was the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. Our server was especially attentive and wonderful with the kids. We even noticed how warmly she greeted regular customers and treated them almost like family. That kind of hospitality really stands out. Overall, I think Causeway has a lot of potential. The fresh seafood and excellent staff are a great foundation, but the restaurant would benefit significantly from some renovations, better spacing between tables, a refreshed bathroom, and working air conditioning. With those improvements, the fairly high menu prices would feel much more justified.
