I ordered their honeydew shaved ice and it was pretty good. Definitely NOT worth $13. They didn't even ball the whole melon. If they did, then maybe. But this was 1) half of a melon 2) had a lot of meat left and 3) was full of ice... The Melona bar was a good touch though. Their egg waffle was really crunchy and I'm not sure if I liked it. The rounded parts of the waffle was so thin that when you bite it, it shatters. It honestly looked like a face that had too much botox LOL. You can just go to CT and get it from the carts for way cheaper in a filled bag. The store itself was pretty quaint--cute decorations here and there. The food: it was good but not phenomenal for the price. We all had the sweet soups so maybe some of the other offerings on the menu are better. The flavors were interesting though and I enjoyed that the soup wasn't as heavy as most desserts are. I had sweet black sesame, my friends had yin yang and sweet rice ball and I tried a bit of each. We all shared a hot tea that was served in a kettle with matching cups, that I believe might have been made of cast iron. It was a very nice presentation and looked sophisticated, but the problem was that the heat seeped right into the material which the cups were made from and thus it was almost impossible to pick up the super hot cups. The cups were hotter than the tea. The kettle was also extremely heavy and made it difficult to pour the tea. This is probably a big reason for taking away one of the stars, it was just very impractical and took away from enjoyment of the tea. The decor: very cute and bright. Has round comfortable booths to sit at. Its in a mall down the hallway from the entrance. The service: it was quite good and our server was attentive. She actually noticed us looking at the wall of Polaroid pictures and asked us if we wanted one, so she took a polaroid of us to add to the wall. My party of 6 came here after dinner and because we all have a separate stomach for desserts we ordered the following: - Signature Mango Pomelo ($6.95): Mangoes were cut into little cubes, perfect to stuff spoonfuls in your mouth. They were so ripe and sweet, I wish they added more mangoes in here! If you're too stuffed for dessert, go with this one. It's light and has just the right amount so you don't end up feeling like you need to hit the treadmill the next day. - Honey Toast ($12.95): Takes at least 15 minutes to make, only takes 2 minutes to lick your plate clean. Loved this one, despite the wait. Comes with two chocolate pocky sticks, mochi, slices of bananas and strawberries on the side with whip cream and a drizzle of condensed milk. It usually comes with a scoop of vanilla icecream but we asked for green tea instead. Great dessert to share with a friend or two. - Customize Your Own Waffles ($6.95): They charge an additional $2 for fruit toppings and $3 for condensed milk. We ordered two of this, one with strawberry icecream and strawberries and another with green tea icecream, strawberries and a drizzle of condensed milk. The waffles aka Hong Kong egg cakes (gai daan jai) goes really well with the icecream, especially when they're still fresh and hot. It may seem like it's a lot for one person but I'm pretty sure most people can finish it alone. - Hong Kong Milk Tea (hot $3/cold $4.50): Yakno, it's just milk tea. Can't say much about it except that it comes in a pretty large vase-looking cup if you're getting it cold. They asked to take a mini polaroid picture of us, which we allowed. Then they put it on their wall. Cute, cute. Service was great and it wasn't too crowded when we went, which is probably not a good thing for their business but I wasn't complaining. The egg waffle is always made fresh, there's never a time I went that the waffle was stale or too hard. There has been other places I've been to where that was the case and it's no comparison. The decor for this place is so sweet, it's dimly lit so it's a comfortable feel when walking inside and there's plenty of seats so if you have a larger party they can accommodate to that. They're all pre-covid (: , the quality and service has dropped drastically and they're still charging these ridiculous prices. Literally when you walk in, NO ONE greets you or seats you. I was really craving some asian dessert soups and found this place after I realized mango mango was full house. This place is near the congee village restaurant, signs were a bit confusing but I found it. The place was empty which made me nervous. But overall it was a decent place for dessert. Ordered the coconut sago with sweet potato dessert and another dessert soup with honeydew and aloe for a friend. We got the wrong order and didn't get the honeydew dessert soup, instead we got another coconut based dessert soup that came with vanilla ice cream and tang yuan (rice balls). The coconut sago dessert soup was good, as for the other dessert although the base was sweet, the tang yuan was very plain so I wasn't entirely a fan. Overall this is a nice to catch up with friends or have a casual date. It opens quite late so if you want something light and sweet, this place is an okay. Just in general is hard to find good dessert these days. when we walked in, i was surprised to see the place empty. i actually thought we would get better service since they were not busy. everybody order the waffle + choice of ice cream+ choice of fruit topping and choice of drizzle. Service was very poor, when you arrive the gave us look warm water with lemon flavor. The lemon flavor water was definitely odd, unexpected I believe it takes away from the dessert experience. For the price, the ice cream had an after taste, mine was supposed to be mango and I could barely taste it. since it was 4 of us and we each order specific items. When the order came to the table, the server just place everything in the middle and did not even bothered to explain what each order was. The servers were more worried about textxing and playing on their phones than to take care of the customer. I guess the management is not concerned about customer experience and maybe they just dont care about creating an experience for repeat guests. The place was pack ,but didn't have to wait to long. my friends said this little place is very cute and food are above average, their Mango Polmelo were using fresh mango insteaded of powder. we could taste other places using lower price ingredients. so far, egg waffles are very cripsy.. they serve the egg waffle for $5..any ice-cream favor for $2 alike Woofle or Eggloo.. price are average, but their egg waffle definately are more favorable. kinda like the original one we had in HK. Their servers always with a smile:) This place are very clean, good foods, good environment, a sweet place to hang out with friends. Cute atmosphere and decor. My friend and I ordered the dessert hotpot with milk tea, several diff types of toppings and matcha drizzle. It is photo worthy. It wasnt as sweet as I hoped it would be. It turned out to be bland when the ice at the bottom melted and diluted every possible sugar crystal. The toppings gave the dessert it's aesthetics and texture but did not help with the sweetness. We just had a huge lunch and were pleasantly surprised how light the tong sui was. Granted it came with ice cream and fruits and mochi which sounds heavy. Terrible food that gave me a horrible stomach ache. I definitely will not be coming back here. Everything on the menu is terribly over priced and the poor quality of the food makes it even less worth it. First we ordered the egg waffle cone, which was incredibly hard as if it was overcooked. They were also very skimpy on the toppings. For example, "Oreos" means cookie dust, not the actual cookie. Then we ordered the Mango Cheurng Fun and it was even worse. The mangos weren't fresh and the noodle wrap was soggy. It was falling apart so badly I had to scoop everything up with my fork and it just bled through the prongs. Aside from the food the service was mediocre at best. Our waiter couldn't speak English and instead of calling over another waiter to help us he just awkwardly stared at us until we just gave up. Our bill came out to roughly $18 even after the BOGO free promo on the egg waffle cone so we essentially paid $18 for one egg waffle cone and a mango cheurng fun. Rip off! To top things off, I now have a horrible stomach ache. Your worker in the back has been smoking a new cigarette after every order placed (3+) in the last 45 minutes here. I mean seriously, there's even a sign that says "no smoking" in the restaurant. However, all of them looked broken and it didn't work. We ordered the Durian Pancake and the Mango Shaved Ice. The Durain Pancake were basically two little pillows filled with whipped cream and some durian pieces. I wasn't a fan of the overload of whip cream inside and little durian, but hey what can you expect, durian is expensive! The mango shaved ice was good.
