Nice hole in the wall place close to one of the Blink gyms I went to today. It's relatively small but the food is fresh and the aesthetic of the place has the feel of that of a Japanese restaurant tucked into a commercial street in Shinjuku. I had a simple lunch special, the sushi I got was pretty filling. I didn't think 3 rolls would be enough but it hit the spot along with the miso soup. Next time I come around and I have a bit more money to blow, I'll try one of their bento boxes but as far as the sushi goes, it's legit.

The sushi was delicious, I can't complain. We came here 40 minutes before closing and the owner of the restaurant or whoever was working there yesterday night was really friendly and even provided us a table with a menu. I got my usual you avocado rolls and Gyoza's while my boyfriend got I think a rainbow roll. I'll update this soon as I ask him!

Great sushi platter for the right price! I was able to feed seven people with the large sushi and roll platter. You can also customize the platter to include certain fish. The platter also comes with miso soup!

I used to come to this location years ago--really great quality sushi and affordable. Still affordable. Staff is sweet and attentive. Unfortunately the quality isn't the same anymore. The tuna and salmon were not fresh. Heavily tasted like sea water. I also found a piece of hair on my roll :(

We ordered Japanese from 52nd street Sushi XL size- Sashimi-Sushi-Roll Combo. It's a total steal at. $110. It is good for four people. Comes with a quart of miso soup. You have to order rice if you want but there's a lot of sushi on the platter. If you haven't tried them order from them sushi & sashimi are fresh.

Honestly love the sushi here (it's actually the only sushi spot that I would go on a daily basis if I could) this is my go to spot to get some sushi after a half day at school, or after a regents test (mainly because there's a lunch speacial that goes on during every mon-sat 11:30am- 3:00pm. My favorite has to be their tempura shrimp sushi rolls; goes well With soy sauce in my opinion. It's also a okay place to take your loves to, its a pretty quaint little place, ya can't miss it.

Came here because it was a sushi place close to my apartment and I wanted to find a local sushi place. This place is really small and it seems that most people get their food delivered or picked up since no one really stayed and ate there while I was eating there. Service was good. The waitress was attentive and while it seemed a little busy, the only waitress was there when we asked. The food was delicious. Price is decent for sushi. I ordered the 3 roll Maki special, 1 extra roll and 1 bowl of seafood udon for only $30. The sushi was good, but nothing extraordinary. Udon gave a good amount of seafood and I really enjoyed it. Presentation was good. My boyfriend was actually jealous of my udon bowl and wanted it. Overall, I would come here again or even get take out since it is relatively cheap.

I had high expectations because their prices were less affordable than its neighborhood competitor, TJ's, so figured the sushi was probably better. Guess what though? It's much shittier and more pricey!! First thing you might notice about 52nd Sushi is how bummy it looks - it's a straight take-out place and it's really hot in the restaurant so hopefully they use all that electric money towards keeping the fish fresh. I made the mistake of ordering their maki combo of spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail and they were some of the worst spicy rolls ever. I'm well aware that spicy rolls normally have the fish minced and mixed with spicy mayo. That definitely not how this joint had it. It was the raw fish with spicy mayo completely drenched on top. And not good spicy mayo, too. It was hard to get through my meal. Honestly. And c'mon...you're going to put the miso soup in syrofoam cup?! No thanks.

I was around Queens killing some time because I'm getting my car repaired and I was in the mood for some Japanese food. I found this little corner spot under the L train. I didn't know what I wanted to get since it was a really tiny place you could probably sit maybe 10 people there. But the service was great they were very helpful on selecting dishes for my taste. I ask for kimchee and they serve it to me on the side twice , Since I wasn't going to eat any Sushi I got a special dish that they had for the day it was Spicy steak and peppers with rice and a side salad and miso soup or for $8 dollars highly recommend this place if you want to grab a quick bite read more

Cute little spot, nice set up, really super friendly staff. I gave this place a 3 star because there was to much rice on the sushi and the rice didn't taste to fresh. Their miso soup was really good though. Hope it improves and i can try something else. read more

I've never ever been disappointed with an order from 52nd sushi. Theyre efficient, moderately priced and delicious. I wish they had a location more deserving of their food, but it's okay because you can just do pick up or a quick lunch. They have something for everyone, even people like me who don't really like raw anything. The Korean lunch boxes are also a good deal. read more

I normally love the food here and the service that I get. The food is always delicious and the prices are very fair. Unfortunately today I witnessed the owner or an employee of this restaurant verbally attack an innocent woman that was parking in front of her store. The employee of the sushi restaurant was 100% in the wrong and was the aggressor in the situation. Her behavior was embarrassing and a disrespect to the community. If you open up a business in a local town you need to have respect for the residents. I certainly will not support this business anymore. read more

My boyfriend and I really enjoy the sushi. This place is tiny, but we usually stop in late in the evenings and there are several places to sit. The few staff that work there are always kind and friendly. They play acoustic pop music, which is super cute and fun. The sushi is so fresh and delicious. I prefer it over the entrees, but my boyfriend always enjoys the chicken curry entree. Would highly recommend - great prices! read more

This Korean, family-owned spot is our go-to for neighborhood sushi take-out. Although you can eat-in, it's a very small space, so not optimal. Unfortunately they don't deliver. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, esp. the special rolls, like Yaki Eel and 52nd rolls. You can't beat the value of the bento boxes, like the Bulgoki Box. I only wish they had more variety of items on the menu, although they have added more recently. Would be great if they had more Korean items and served Kimchi with the dishes. For telephone orders, be prepared for difficulties in communicating due to poor English. read more

Alert!! Owner of this place has changed! I am not sure when but someone else took over what used to be a family business. I used to order take outs and eat in here all the time because it was really good but since the owner changed, it is different. They keep the menu more or less same but quality is definitely not like what previous owner used to do. It is sad to see a place that was so good losing their cache after change of ownership and management. Will not go back to 52nd Sushi anymore.. read more

First time we came to eat here, and it was already one memorable date ever. The Miso ramen was really good, and also a first for me to actually finish the whole thing. I love how the pork is cooked and with that bit of ham hint and fat. My kid had the pork chop curry with rice, which was also a hit. We left with stomachs full and very satisfied indeed. Just too bad they dont have deivery yet. read more

The food seemed fresh, well made, and the portions were very good. I ordered the shrimp tempura udon and it was honestly too much for me to eat in one sitting; I had to take the rest home. The restaurant was very small but the food was great for the price so it evens out. Definitely recommend! read more

I've eaten here before and never been super impressed until now. I'm a TJ's customer but lately TJ's rice has been completely disgusting - wet and soft - and I decided to get 3 hand rolls from 52. What a difference! Completely delicious! They can also make a killer platter for a very reasonable price - I just brought one to a party and it was a huge hit. read more

I leave few steps away from this establishment and I feel so lucky. Every time I crave for good Japanese rolls it's just right there. They're very consistent with the taste of their food that's why I keep coming back. Good food cheap price feels like paradise. read more

This is my favorite sushi place in my very neighborhood. Working people are always nice. Whenever I feel sushi, and do not want to go out far away, I choose this place. Sushi and rolls are good. Cooked dish boxes are nice also. I am big eater. I always order sushi(R) + the set of 4pcs Sushi+cali roll. This combination is under $20 even after they raised price. Got Korean takeout from this Japanese place (they don't deliver); figured it couldn't be bad since it is Korean-owned. I was wrong! Ordered bulgoki with rice, which also comes with a salad, edamame and miso soup and was not impressed. The bulgoki lacked flavor and was dry. The salad was warm and some pieces of lettuce were wilted (it was served in the same to-go box as the entree, which does not make any sense). The meal came with three measly pieces of edamame, whereas their competitor, TJ Asian Bistro gives a lot more with it's meal. The best part of the meal was the miso soup and I don't even like miso! I will not be ordering Korean food from there again! Maybe I will give them another shot and try a Japanese dish since I don't eat sushi;hopefully I will have a better experience. read more

Had lunch here last weekend. The salmon skin roll was disgusting, it wasn't fried enough and it didn't taste fresh. And my husband had the bulgogi box - the bulgogi was tough. I still love his place, I will just not order salmon skin roll ever again read more

Most amazing Tiger roll. My favorite sushi in New York! Prices are totally reasonable. Has the feel of a real old New York corner place, with the elevated subway right above, and cozy interior. Such bad quality fish. The tuna was obviously frozen. It was tough and rubbery. And the salmon was oily, like it had been sitting for long. Not fresh. Disappointed. Price is good. But you get what you pay for. read more

It came with white rice, which helped. Although I'm not often in this section of Jackson Heights, might consider stopping by another time to check out other specialties. The staff was friendly and gracious: a girl from our party was running late yet they waited for her to arrive before taking our order and didn't rush us to finish. The next time I'm craving a homey Filipino meal, this is the place I'm coming to.

52nd Sushi is quality sushi & underrated. I've tried sushi all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and I have to say that this place gets in top 5 for me. On multiple occasions I've taken friends here to eat and they are blown away by how good the sushi is; some are even more blown away because they didn't know we had this awesome spot in our hood. It's super small inside (3 small tables with 2 seats each, and a sushi bar area), so I've only ever gotten food to go. No complaints! Their prices are reasonable, especially for lunch. My grandma loves their bulgogi bento box ($13) and I always get their sushi lunch special (2 rolls for $9 or 3 rolls and miso soup for $12). Service is quick every time I've been here. read more
