I must say that when I viewed the menu the day before my initial reaction was ---eh, boring. But I have to admit - every morsel of everything eaten or shared was totally beyond my expectations Appetizers of bacon Mac and cheese. So amazing. Not overly cheesy. I could have made a meal of this! Shishito peppers needed a bit more salt , broccolini was very good , but the best was the charcuterie and cheese board. Great choice of cheese and complimentary meats with Marcona almonds. Crunchy garlic toast along with it. Just so incredible. Mains - pan seared scallops. Cooked and seasoned perfectly , hangar steak cooked rare to perfection , and fettuccine Bolognese. Pasta prepared perfectly and delicious sauce. Desert- omg amazing apple tart with ice cream and chocolate cheese cake. Delicious decaf coffee. I feel like I'd go back just for the food and wouldn't care what show I see! Hats off to the chef. This dark radiant performance club is wonderful. My sister took me here to watch some of the performances. It was beautiful. Watching them. The food amazing. I had the scallops twice with the steak and chips with guacamole. Then I also had a blueberry drink. Don't remember the name but it did have liquor in it. And I love me some liquor. The waiters were so nice in helping me with placing my orders. Going there again soon. Can't wait to see if the menu will change to try new things. read more

A must-visit for Broadway fans if you're in NYC! I love the cabaret/supper club atmosphere. It's very colorful, warm, and plush and looks like it could be from a movie! The food is pricey but not bad considering you're probably coming here for a performance. I came for the Broadway Princess Party and the menu was so cute! Very customize towards the event. The steak tartare had just the right consistency and was delicious! Considering the audience (mainly young women), the waitstaff is also very diligent, polite, friendly, and cordial. They kept bringing out bread while I waited for my friend to show! Do keep in mind that some shows (particularly the Broadway Princess Party) will fill up fast. I thought I went early to reserve a good table, but ended up in the corner with a very side view of the stage. I'd be back--I know there's lots of good performers and shows at Feinstein's. read more

I have dreamed about one day visiting this place since it opened a couple years ago. Especially after seeing videos of performers floating around on Facebook. When my weekend visit aligned with Anthony Rapp doing a one night performance, it was like the stars aligned for this former renthead. The space itself is small and intimate with excellent sound. The food is surprisingly good. I went with the hangar steak which was cooked perfect and instead of shoestrings fries, I was able to sub it for brussels sprouts, though you can sub it for any side on their menu. I ended up sharing a slice of chocolate cake with my friend, which was just okay. Too much frosting and reminded me of a grocery store chocolate cake. You can skip that. The only downside is since it's cabaret seating, you are forced to share table space with strangers. When you're eating, it gets crowded. If you're a Broadway fan, this place should definitely be on your to-do list. If there was talent I was a super fan of, I would fly out to see them here. FYI: $25 food and beverage minimum! You can apparently take pictures, as long as there's no flash. This probably varies from performer to perform, but explains why I see so many shots after performances online. read more

We came to Feinstein's on a whim, and were not disappointed with the drinks and entertainment! The drinks were pricey ($16) but they were delicious! Just as a PSA: There is a $25 food and drink minimum per person at this establishment. The bar and kitchen closed about 45 minutes into the performance (around 10:15 PM), so be sure to order early so you don't get charged the extra amount. The entertainment was excellent and we enjoyed the variety of songs performed by guest artists and a local composer. The tickets were about $30 a person, but well worth given the quality of entertainment. Overall a great night and definitely a great spot if you're looking to experience up and coming musical theatre talent! read more

Came here to see the Frank Sinatra tribute show. Singers were good, though some obviously better than others. One of the singers had an amazing voice and vocal range, one of the other ones felt like he was just shouting into the mic. Food is decent. Obviously pricey since you're also paying for the experience (though we also paid the cover). Chicken tenders were good and crunchy and came with a nice side of onion rings. Just a little expensive at $16, for what is usually a kids meal elsewhere. Hanger steak was just okay, expensive for $29 and nothing special. I'd get something else next time. Overall a unique experience in the city with good music and decent food, just don't come here for the food. read more

Being from out of town and inspired by my love of the little supper club in my hometown known as the Greer Cabaret series I came to this venue. I was so excited to see the amazing Chita Rivera and believe me she gave a performance than was more than outstanding! My husband and I arrived at the supper club promptly at 5 since I we were told to be there 2 hours before show since the waiter staff usually doesn't serve anything during the performance. The venue sits in was was formerly known as 54 stage basement and was recreated. It has bar seating, raised booth seating, and table seating mostly in rounds of 4. The venue is small and you don't have a bad seat anywhere in the house. Unlike my series if you come as a couple they tell you to split the table in half with one sitting in front and the other behind so the other sharing can do likewise. To make things easier I ordered the price fixed menu consisting of lentil salad, halibut main with whipped potatoes and vegetables and raspberry mousse for dessert. My husband ordered 3 medium rare scallops with topping and a side of broccolini. The food came in sections but it seemed like an eternity between dishes. All the food we ate was good with the exception of the mousse which I found consistently lacking in flavor. Each time we were served our waitress kept "whisking away" the plates even if I moved my dinner roll off it. Even as soon as I finished a plate -boom, it was gone! The couple sharing our table saw it happening to them and we couldn't understand what's the emergency. We couldn't understand the delay in getting our courses and I got my dessert 10 minutes before the show. I sat at the 2nd table center so I had a close up view of the stage. However, when the show began again I saw drinks were being served during the performance. On to Chita Rivera. Chita has always been one of my favorite Broadway stars and having concluded seeing the mini series Fosse/Verdon on TV I had a better understanding of her. Accompanied by a 3 piece band she belted out numbers from her popular shows including West Side Story and Chicago with some of her own thrown in. Even though she's a lot older now she showed us she still has "what it takes" with all her dance moves and props. Her humor and warmth made me feel right at home. She is truly a concert legend and I was thrilled with the opportunity to see her. The show lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes which is normal for this type of show. There was no meet and greet since another performer was due in at 9:30. Feinstein's 54 below sits next to Stage 54 which is where "Kiss me Kate" is performing. You can either enter by going down a long flight of stairs or there is an elevator nearby. Although my meal I thought was average, the opportunity to see a legend such as Chita made the evening worthwhile. This show is in high demand and whenever you see a future concert celebrity coming here, book your tickets well in advance to insure you get in for the guaranteed seating. read more

When NYC re-opened post-pandemic, I was ready for the roaring 20s and 54 Below delivered above and beyond any expectations. I'm one of those people who doesn't enjoy eating while people are singing so I make sure to arrive early enough (5:30-5:45pm) to finish. If you feel the same way, I suggest making your dinner reservation on the earlier side for a smoother experience. Cocktails only during the show for me - HA! My husband and I spent so much time there in 2022, one staff member (Mandisa - who hugged us upon seeing us) said, "Well, you two just live here now!" If only! I don't know how to name check everyone...Brooke, Gretchen, Fernanda, Mark, Matt, Camilla, Diana, Mia, Oscar, Mandisa, Leo, David. Every server/bartender is a joy! Although we usually prefer premium seating for the plush booths, we've taken to alternating with bar seats just so we can chat with the bartenders before the show! The talent is the best in the business. I've never been disappointed in a show there. NEVER! They book a wide range of talent for everyone's tastes. The changing seasonal food is always delightful and the bartenders all make a mean cocktail! The restaurant's design and decor is dark and comforting. We came to Feinstein's 54 below to see Ann Callaway in an intimate show. She was amazing. Absolutely amazing. The surprise of the evening was that Jeffrey got down on one knee and proposed! It was totally unexpected and beautiful. Everyone cheered (on the second take, the gentleman who took the video somehow videoed a large black mass LOL) But now we are going to talk about the food. We started with the grilled octopus and the special which was burrata. Let me tell you the burrata was phenomenal. Very tender, smooth and rich. I could of used a touch of salt but beyond that I couldn't stop eating it. I do not eat bread so the heirloom tomatoes were delectable with the contrast of the burrata and balsamic reduction. The octopus was ok. I didn't care for the sauce that accompanied it. Also it was a touch cooked too much. I got the scallops and Jeffrey got the cesar salad with espresso marinated hanger steak. My dish was so tasty. The scallops were cooked to a medium rare and the purée that they rested on was brilliant. Jeffrey's steak with Cesar was delicious. The marinate on the steak was so different than anything I have ever had before. It didn't taste like espresso but it had a nutty quality. Beautiful! Then for the dessert! I got the rush chocolate cake. Wow. Just wow. Not too much and not too little of a dish. The manager bought us a gelato and sorbet dish as well. Very nice. I also got a cappuccino which was just as good. The foam was stiff and the flavor was sharp just like a cappuccino should be. All in all I would love to go back to Feinstein's any day and any time. Removed 2 stars because my $15 guacamole wasn't fresh. It was dark in color and was on the cusp of should I sell this or should I toss and make a new batch. Chef shoulda tossed it! Even though it's dark in there, I know when I see an oxidized avocado!!! I didn't complain because it was still edible and our waiter was great. We always have a good time here! Tonight it was two shows. First the amazing Laura Benanti and her phenomenal mother! It is clear where Laura gets her talent! Then a newcomer, Ari Axelrod. Ari's show was directed by the irrpressivle Faith Prince, who was charming and delightful! There is a $25 minimum, which is unfortunately easy to get to. The food and drinks were delicious and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. It is an intimate setting, very cozy. There are several shows each night, so there is something for everyone. Pleasantly surprised by both the quality of dinner and show at Feinstein's/54 Below. Much more intimate than an on-Broadway production; our table was right against the stage. We saw Tony Award winner & baritone Paulo Szot sing popular show tunes here, including a duet with Liz Callaway, of "Cats" & "Miss Saigon" fame. On the piano was Billy Stritch. Szot is most known for his role in a revival of "South Pacific" & his performance of "Some Enchanted Evening" shook the room. After his set, Szot schmoozed with us, signing autographs & takings pictures with his fans. This is the place to get up close & personal with your favorite Broadway greats; I noticed a bounty of star-struck gazes coming from the audience. For entrees, my date had roast chicken & I had the lemon ricotta ravioli with butter poached lobster & spicy breadcrumbs, which was phenomenal. The intimate setting for the entertainment is so hard to find for this caliber of talent. Watching my favorite Uruguayan bass-baritone Erwin Schrott just 2 feet away from me was absolutely priceless!!! This was the perfect venue to grace his "Rojo Tango", a sexy and passionate collection of songs by famed composers Astor Piazzolla, Pablo Ziegler and Juan Carlos Cobian; His performance at this very intimate and classy night club with only 150 seats made us feel as if we are at an exclusive private event. I highly recommend to get $40 table seat instead of $30 bar seat it's a night and day difference!!! There is a $25 min charge for food and drink order and although the venue's primary focus is the music, the food wasn't bad at all. I particularly enjoyed the oysters and burrata, get those for the appetizers! If you want to meet the artist, then this is THE PLACE!! You have a high chance of meeting him in person! I not only got to meet Erwin and got him to sign my CD and had pictures taken with him, but also I got to meet his famous soprano girlfriend Anna Netrebko! Many opera royalties including his GF, Anita Rachvelishvili, Olga Peretyatko, Michele Mariotti, and Placido Domingo's brother were sitting nearby our table which was almost surreal. Had a fabulous time here with a friend! She and her HS friends were going to see Melissa Manchester & had an extra ticket, so I bought in. I'm so glad I did! She has some set of pipes and this was a great venue for an up close & personal experience. The place is really nicely decorated, more of an homage to a genteel speakeasy than to the disco days. We had a great booth right across from the stage and we were able to enjoy the show while having a great meal. The food is very good! I had the duck confit salad and it was perfect. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Didn't have drinks (drat) but I was told by others at the table that the drinks were great. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals and agreed that the food made the experience even better. Service was excellent. Our waiter was more than just efficient, he made everything seem effortless and anticipated our needs. I think I've found a great birthday idea for the future - will bring my friends here! read more

I had a great experience going here. A cabaret below the iconic Studio 54, as you descend down the steps it's like entering another era. Ever detail from the wall paper to the molding to the art around the place takes me back in history to images of speakeasies and supper clubs I've only seen in movies. The room was well organized with a central stage and pretty good views all around. The performance obviously makes the show. We saw Carole Bufford's show Heart of Gold: A Portrait of the World's Oldest Profession. Amazing! The numbers she sung, arrangements transitions, the show featured songs over the last century regarding Women of the night, trial and tribulations, infatuation, etc. The food was great. I had an espresso marinated steak and my wife had grilled salmon. We didn't drink but the drinks looked good too. There's a Minimum charge with each performance that was $25 per person. Great place. This is a excellent intimate live music venue. Acoustics are very good, and there is a pretty good lighting system as well. The majority of the seating is at long tables pointed toward the stage, so some seats tend to be faced away from the performer, and those seated in the first few slots (and I do mean slots) may find the lighting in their eyes. A few booths along the back provide the most comfortable seating. Food is adequate. The french fries were excellent, and the Caesar salad was fresh. The ratatouille shepherd's pie was a bit disappointing. There's a nice selection of moderately priced wines. Service is friendly and unobtrusive. read more

Intimate, and classy place to watch some top rated performers sing. Manhattan's own supper club. I like this venue. Decorated with archival pictures from the 20's, it feels more like classic night club tucked away. Hence the name, 54 Below. I get the feeling when a singer performs here, it will catapult him/her into a larger spotlight. The setting feels a bit small, and some may say it feels a bit cramped. But it allows you to talk with others around you. The acoustics sound great. It allows the performer to interact directly with the audience. The food tasted good. I ordered the king salmon. A great place in New York to see live entertainment from broadway finest up close and personal. My bf and I saw the prince of broadway series that was filled with top notch vocals and funny moments through out the night. It is a very intimate setting meaning you are never to far from the stage no matter where you sit. After purchasing the tickets there is also a 25 dollar drink or food min. They have a full dinner menu there. We ate dinner at a steak house prior and order the guacamole with plantain chips and a bottle of Rose instead. Unless you have group of 4 or more be prepare to share tables in the main dinning seats. It is meant to be set up like a cabaret style club. But that's part of the charm. You get to meet new friends and trade stories and get tips from the locals. The show was so much fun. For us it was extra special because we had seen Aladdin the prior day and was able to see the lead Adam Jacob perform up close. He even walked pass our table during one of his songs. There were a total of 9 princes singing tunes from different shows and movies each assuming the role of a prince. From the beast to charming to Aladdin. There were also special guest performances from a few princesses. The current princesses Jasmine also stop by to duet with her Aladdin . This is a great venue and we really enjoyed ourselves. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. He is an aspiring theater writer - he was great! Apparently they do a staff show too, on January 22, 2018 (I think?). We are from out of town, but might come back to see him! We saw the BEST OF BROADWAY 9:00 pm show. SUGGESTIONS IF YOU GO: They ask you to come early, DO, you'll get served food /drinks faster before the whole crowd gets settled. Also, on a cold night get there early so you can wait for your show inside, otherwise the line goes out of the door. We only waited about 10-20mins. Best seats are front and center or I would argue the back booths that are raised up a bit. But there are no bad seats in the house, it's very small and intimate. Most of the artists stay after to socialize and go to the bar afterwards. If you go to an earlier show this may not be the case, as they prepare for the next show and exit the audiences. A nice addition to the NY dining and musical scene. The ambiance is great. The service was also great and the food was not bad. I would definitely not come here just for the food (fairly average) but by cabaret standards, it's above average. The entertainment on Sinatra night was also good, though the show itself was short (about an hour and five minutes). I do wish the show ran a little longer since cover charge was $55/person with a $25 food minimum. Will prob give it another shot with a show that maybe runs a little longer. read more

Feinsten's/54 Below is the best place to go for an up close performance of your favorite artists. It's a small, intimate venue with no bad seats in the house. They have a large range of up and coming and huge Broadway names. You're Always in for a treat! :) The staff is always super friendly! The downfall is the prices... you pay for the ticket and then have typically a $20-30 food/beverage minimum however everything on the menu is expensive and a challenge to hit your minimum closely. So be sure to budget accordingly. Even with a steeper price ticket it is absolutely worth it to see one of your favorite stars! They often hang out afterwards as well so there's a good chance you can meet them! :) be sure to bring your own sharpie if you want them to sign something. The seating is not reserved by tickets, it's all at the discretion of the host staff. So if you are going with a friend, you need to either purchase tickets together or call ahead so they can accommodate you. The location is great! Very close to the theatre district! So check out the calendar to see a show after a matinee. They typically have a 7:30 and 9:30 show and an occasional late night at 11:30! read more

We saw a show called twisted where child Broadway stars of today and yesterday sing songs that are out of their current age range. It showcased amazing talents and voices. Although we enjoyed the show very much and our sever was sweet and kind, I'm not sure if we will go back to 54 Below. They called us to confirm our reservation and told us to arrive 45 minutes early to get in. We arrived about 50 minutes early then in line on the stairs for about 15 minutes. The tables are reserved so there's really no reason to show up that early and stand on the stairs. Tolerable issue, but unnecessary. The hostess was efficient and friendly and confirmed the table we reserved. The staff graciously walked us to our spot and the server arrived quickly to give us menus. We decided what to order, but instead of getting to order, a host comes to tell us we have to move from our reserved great view spot to another booth shared with another couple (who were gracious and friendly) with our backs to the show because a group of four needed our table. Annoying, but ok if they needed to accommodate more people in a small space. We get it. We moved. The problem is there ended up being other open spaces and there was no party of four. Instead, they seated two men to our first table who are clearly friends with someone who works there...getting free food and everything. It was EXTREMELY rude to move us without offering a free drink or something, but then to out and out right lie about it? Inexcusable. Our backs were to our old table so of course we saw the lie when we turned around to see the show and we could hear the staff fawning over them. Poor management of the tables and incredibly rude to us. The drinks and dessert were fine, better than many music/show venues. Alas, I don't know that I'll ever return because of the lie. Very unprofessional. There are many other great choices for live music in this city, why put up with this kind of stuff? read more
