    Chicken Hot Pot
    Selene T.

I went here on a date for a recommendation, and honestly this was some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while. The chicken hotpot was spicy so a heads up for those who can't handle spice, but there's alternative dishes that aren't as spicy. I definitely recommend this spot! Service was super awesome and friendly! It makes me happy getting to support small buisness

Went here for lunch and really wanted to give them 5 stars. But I couldn't.... there were a few things that stopped me from giving them a stellar review. Placed looked and felt very authentic. The lady who waited on us was also nice and fairly attentive. I ordered a Spicy Pork Ramen & egg rolls and my husband ordered the General Tso. She brought us complementary peanuts prior to our meal which was a nice touch. Price was okay. $20 for one meal, appetizer and Diet Coke. Here are the cons: The restaurant has only been open two years, but felt kinda run down. I thought it had been open for closer to 10 given how the restaurant looked. It was fairly warm in the restaurant. They had fans, but were not turned on. This is the biggest one for me... in the ladies bathroom they had cases of chopsticks, spices, napkins and straws. It completely grossed me out that this stuff was stocked in the bathroom and completely visible. My ramen tasted fairly bland. Definitely not spicy and not exciting. Pros: Husband's meal was excellent and the egg rolls were also delicious.

Honestly I wanna give this place more stars but I just can't. I ordered a kung pao chicken order and it tasted very mediocre. It was not served with zucchini like the menu stated. Also when you tell them very spicy, they will give you very spicy Overall it looks like a very clean restaurant and the owners are very friendly but the food that I ordered was just okay.

First time trying this place with my husband. We went on a Thursday night and there were plenty of seats available even though there were still people inside. First impression, small place, nicely decorated & clean! We were greeted by a really nice girl and went ahead and ordered some fried pot stickers as an appetizer, iced tea and a Dr. Pepper. Ice tea came in a big pitcher and 2 small cups, Dr. pepper was canned but came with a big cup of ice. The Fried pot stickers were actually really good! They came out hot and ready! We both ordered the "Chong Qing spicy beef noodle soup. They both came with soft and tender big pieces of beef and oh my god it was soooooo good. Even had enough to take for lunch the next day. Definitely coming back !! :)

Good pretty authentic Asian- reasonable prices. Actually have some dishes from china that other Chinese places in town do not! The people who work here are super friendly! It's small and doesn't have lazy Susan's so it's the perfect place for 2-6 people where you can easily share on the table. Will return!

This is a great place for students on a budget. Except if you pay cash they round up the bill to avoid dealing with change. This was really odd. Usually places give you a discount for paying with cash rather than charge you more. Anyways, we just laughed about this since it was so strange. The food was pretty good and probably authentic but even though I asked for my dish to be spicy it was mild in my opinion. I like really spicy food. I think that has more to do with the cooking style though which is why I still gave this place 4 stars. Also, it's a sit down restaurant where they take your order at the table but if you ask for water they point you to the back to get it yourself rather than bring it to you. Very odd. It looks fancy when you sit down but the water and appetizers are served on disposable styrofoam plates and cups. I had the home style tofu which was pretty good.

My absolute favorite place in town to get kung pao tofu. Fast and great quality. A hidden gem in college station

Given that there's VERY few Chinese restaurants (buffets don't count) in the BCS area, this is my new favorite authentic Chinese restaurant here! I've gone multiple times since it opened and I've tried many different dishes, including the lo mein, eggplant pot, spicy beef flavor pot, pork belly, the chongqing beef noodle soup, etc. I highly recommend the beef noodle soup and pork belly (eggplants too if you like those)! These are my favorite dishes from this place and they're a must-try if you go here. Also, if you're like me and can't handle extremely spicy foods, then make sure you tell them no spicy! Sichuan style foods are known for being extremely spicy, so even "a little spicy" at this place is too much for me. The wait staff is what you would normally expect at a Chinese restaurant, so not the best but most of them are pretty nice and will check on you from time to time. It's best to pay in cash here since you get a 10% discount. Some waiters will refuse to take individual credit cards from every person at a table and will expect one person to pay with one card.. but that's just because they don't want to be charged a credit card fee. Ask another waiter/manager if you insist on splitting the check.

Cumin chicken. Basically little tiny bits of fried chicken pieces seasoned with cumin and served with onions and jalapenos.

Came here for dinner on a weeknight (Wednesday night), and it was VERY busy. Service was great and very friendly. They ask if you want ice tea or hot tea or water, and bring it to you in a little pitcher for your table, which was quite nice because then you can refill your own cup as needed without having to bother the busy waitstaff. We ordered the cumin chicken and the eggplant pot, both with spice level 2 on a 1-5 spice level scale. The spice was fine for me, but my BF was dying! Something to keep in mind if you don't have a high heat tolerance, hehe Cumin Chicken - 3/5. This was just alright. A little bit dry and nothing spectacular. Eggplant Pot - 4/5. Quite good. However, the description on the menu said "eggplant with pork". I am a bit confused, because there was not a single piece of pork in the entire dish...? Still good though because I love eggplant. Oh and btw you get a 10% discount if you pay with cash.

The Stewed Lamb Noodle here is awesome! Although they don't regularly have it. Must try when they are offering it

LOVED this place! My mouth waters every time I think about it. I ordered the spicy pepper beef, level 3 heat, and my partner ordered spicy crispy chicken, level 3 heat. Heat levels go from 1-5, and I have no idea what 5 could be based on the heat level of 3, but I'm assuming you'd have to enjoy munching on ghost peppers to appreciate it. Both plates came with a side of rice. The table soy sauce was super nice. The beef was marinaded in something delicious, and served on a bed of sauteed jalapenos in a tasty sauce. The chicken was really crispy, and served with crispy dried red chiles. Both were proper spicy and suuuuper tasty. We also ordered the dumplings which were awesome. The wait staff were very helpful with menu suggestions, and friendly. Overall a great experience! Super highly recommended, we'll be back!

Do they use MSG? I am allergic to MSG! One way to tell is: if you feel very thirsty after eating there, then, there is a high probability that MSG was added to the ingredients cooked.Thank you for your time and effort if you can answer this question!

Is there any clear cut way to tell? If there is I might be able to help you cause I've eaten here many many many times. If not your best bet is probably just calling and asking. In my experience everyone there is very friendly.

Are they open for lunch? it says great for lunch when I search but the hours say they don't open until 5. a little confusing....?

Not sure. Ate there for dinner

They did change the menu a bit, but it had what I exactly wanted. We ordered the Szechuan Mala Spicy Rice Noodle Bowl w/ Beef Slices, Popcorn Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, and Xiao Long Bao. The noodle bowl is the best. Tons of flavor and ingredients with the vermicelli noodles are just amazing. The popcorn chicken is delicious, nothing special. The shrimp tempura is delicious and has an amazing crunch. The Xiao Long Bao is more of a soup dumpling dim sum style. It was pretty delicious, but it didn't taste really fresh like you'd get from an actual dim sum restaurant. The staff are friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at. First off, I'm gonna start with. I've had scallops in the past and the scallops that they had in there or whatever they where were extremely fishy to the point of the entire Fried Rice tasted like fish. I ate the majority of the Fried Rice. It left an oily fishy taste in my mouth. I was just so hungry. I ate it and I fell asleep. Last year in Spring 2023 (before the semester-long renovations), Shun de Mom was my favorite eatery in CSTAT. I ate here at least 2-3 times/month. However, they're not the same anymore (maybe a different management staff?). For starters, they changed their menu and removed the Thailand Chicken (my favorite dish) along with raising their prices slightly. More importantly, they changed the sauces so "saucy" dishes (like the Orange Chicken) just did not taste good. The chicken lo mein had very little flavor and the noodles seemed "rubbery" for some reason. Lastly, the salt and pepper pork ribs looked exceedingly deep-fried and I'm fairly sure had MSG on them. The only semi-decent dish was the chicken fried rice. So if you're hankering for chicken-fried rice within walking distance of campus, then this is your place.
