This is the second time that I've been to the tattoo and piercing shop; the first time I went with a friend and also came in for a repiercing due to a hospitalization. I'm hoping this will be the last time that I go to this shop for a repiercing, but I will definitely come back here if I have to. Joslyn was extremely professional and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time during the piercing process by double checking that it didn't hurt. I had to purchase one of their steel titanium jewelry ($15 was the cheapest one) and was not allowed to use my own jewelry that I bought from Laughing Buddha. Which is totally understandable and makes sense as to why they don't use other jewelry outside of their own. I think it also specifies in their rules or contract that you're not allowed to bring in outside jewelry, but I would call to make sure. I also did not like that they didn't have a more comfortable waiting/seating area. Those tiny chairs on wheels are not really plus-sized friendly and I would have appreciated a regular chair instead of those. The online booking experience for an appointment within 3 days was easy to use on their website. I believe there was a $5 security deposit that goes into your overall total at the end of your piercing/tattoo session. In fact, my piercer Joslyn even emailed me to ask questions about my piercing history and whatnot. I really appreciated her attentiveness to detail and for taking the initiative to understand her customer's needs. After a couple of weeks, the earrings continued to look ridiculous, as they appeared to be falling out of my ears. I called and explained the problem. They said I could walk in any time during open hours. When I did, they said I could get a "discount" and pay $63 to replace the posts that were too long from day one. This did not include the decorative part of the earrings, only the 1/8" posts. At no time, on the day of piercing, or on the phone call, was there mention of additional fees for earrings that were too long when they were 1st placed. If you want to pay a hefty amount and your piercings to look idiotic, here's your place.

It lacked layers and defining lines and basically said what the marriage felt like and I wanted to put a bat over it with some red behind it to contrast my path when I filed for divorce. It looked incredible and it even has a tiny cute little face, and it's my ring finger! Then I had a "bat ass" tatt I needed correction from. I originally wanted the drips to be sumi-E ink style and the former artist charged me so much, lacked details, did it his own way even though he required my own specific design - he just couldn't get the interpretation down and I did not want to risk another visit with him. I knew Courtney would get it. She spent time doing her own design of my verbal input with some visual references and ended up adding extra details I could only dream of but never say aloud. She did it in 2 visits, not as heavy handed, and again the price was right. Her music vibes! Always a great time at Broadway. Also if you're into piercings, I've never seen an unhappy customer and believe me I say there for hours! I'll prob take my cousin for that. I had wanted an Owl tattoo for years and I felt Charlene could deliver on the detail I wanted. She was very communicative and professional thru the whole process and everything at the studio was done under very aseptic technique. We also really had a nice time chatting during the hour or two she was doing my artwork. I got a bit clammy at the start so she gave me a little break and then I think adrenaline kicked in and nerves calmed and we tired a fan on and I was good to go. My little brother has a few tattoos by Andrew and only has the very best things to say, plus his tattoos and the line work look SO so good... so when my sister and I recently visited said brother in Long Beach, we had to put Retro Row Ink on the agenda. This tattoo shop is one big open room with maybe 8-10 artist-stations throughout. Everything is super clean, colorful, and welcoming, and of course there's tons of beautiful artwork by the resident tattoo artists across the walls. You gotta browse and enjoy all the different talent! My sister got a couple small tattoos, some script and then her daughters' initials worked into a tattoo she already has. Andrew sent us a link to a website where we could search and select fonts, but if you need ideas your tattoo artist will definitely have them! I like the idea of tiny tattoos on my hands/fingers, just one tiny step at a time, hahah. I decided to get a single teensy star, which I now call the North star. It looks like a classic, Christmassy twinkle star... or what a single light looks like in the dark when you have an astigmatism, ha. ANYWAY, it's the perfect tiny little sparkle and Andrew was able to draw it with the tiniest, finest little lines. I love it. I'll see how it heals and how the ink takes to my hand-skin, but I'm already making plans for my next Long Beach trip so I can see Andrew again!

3/3/19 I brought my second daughter to get her ears pierced…read moreat 8 months of age. What I was recommended with my first daughter is to call before so I can ensure there were two staff members to do a double piercing. This time I made sure there was two staff members working at the same time before heading to the mall. Boy was it baby piercing day on Sunday. There were five babies before us but the wait wasn't bad at all. Kim was very patient and helpful with my daughter. She confirmed that my baby was calm enough for a double piercing. Most babies move their head back and forth so a double isn't possible. Kim also had to dot her left ear multiple times just because it was a little differently shaped than her right. We were able to successfully do a double. My daughter cried her brains out after for a little bit (as expected) but the simultaneous piercing experience was definitely better than the single ear. At least the pain was done in one punch. Loved how it turned out.
