They make you pay and tip upfront. If you're stuck and already having a bad day, this place won't make you happy. If you ever wondered what it would feel like having successfully cleared security only to be rectally violated shortly afterwards, then you should try your luck at 5ive Steak. I sat down at a table, waited a little while for a menu. Had to wait a little longer to order. In hindsight this turned out to be a good thing because at first I was going to order a rib eye steak. But at nearly $50 and a burger being priced at around $16 I thought to myself, you are at an airport, better to order a $16 burger and be unhappy than to order a $50 steak and be unhappy. The server finally came, I ordered my burger and he said there is a 30 minute wait for a burger. I checked the clock, confirmed that works for my schedule and told the waiter 30 minutes is fine. Didn't think much of my order until the order for the gentleman sitting next to arrived. He is clearly unhappy, as his burger arrived with American cheese instead of cheddar. And then it hit me, I don't eat burgers, I eat cheeseburgers. I don't recall selecting the cheese for my burger because the waiter never asked me. And he didn't ask me how I wanted the burger cooked either. My burger arrived in 20 minutes, without any cheese and was medium rare. Not at all what I wanted. I didn't make a scene, I didn't complain. My seat is at the back of the airplane and if the burger being too rare was going to make me sick, I'm only 3 steps from the restroom. I get halfway thru my burger and decide this experience really annoyed me to the point that I want to write this review, but I can't because my fingers are covered in moo blood and somehow there are no napkins on my table. At this point I'm about ready to blow a gasket, but I remain calm because I don't want the cabin crew for my flight to think I should be deplaned. Final total with a soda was just over $21. Highly not recommending this place to stop and get rest after flight. Be ready to wait your french fry for 25 min. I'm not sure why it's this way, prob since Covid and to simplify things, but no restaurant should ever make you pay before you get your food and TIP during your phone order. Airport prices for a chicken Caesar salad ($24), five dollar ice tea and almost $6 tip. Chicken was dry. (Vegetarian Review) In my 6 years of being vegetarian, this was the worst veggie burger I've ever had... While I understand restaurants in airports have a lot of restrictions, I was very disappointed by my meal at 5ive Steak. I came and ordered the veggie burger with fries since two of my friends wanted to eat steak. The veggie burger patty tasted like canned beans, and I ended up eating the fries, slice of tomato and piece of lettuce instead. The patty itself had very limited flavor and you could only taste anything due to the small amount of pesto on top. Even frozen veggie burgers from Trader Joes are much much better. The reason that I'm giving the restaurant even 2 stars is because my friends thought their steaks were deserving of 2.5 stars and the fries were edible. The service was decent, although a bit slow. Luckily we were 2.5 hours early for our flight so there was no rush. The meal came out to ~$40 (incl. tax + tip) which was hefty for my fries, lettuce and tomato. Great old fashioned, the smokehouse burger was delicious, it had a pleasant spice to it which was unexpected but kind of made the burger. The grilled chicken BLT club sandwich was great in flavor but the chicken was so dry I had to wash down every bite with my drink to keep from choking. If that could be better I would give it an extra star. The fries were crispy and very lightly salted which complimented everything well. OK, it's airport food. Hence expensive and no very good. However, comparing it to other airport food I've been compelled to ingest in order to survive, it's far better than most. If this were an ordinary street restaurant, I'd give it a two star, but it's not. It's airport, so as compared to other airport restaurants I'm going to give it a Yelp Four Star though I can't say I'm a fan of the place. When I was last there it was practically empty, though it has a very large seating capacity. I ordered their lamb chops which came with four chops adorned with what they stated as a "peppercorn" sauce but to me somewhat better with a complexity more akin to a Montreal Sauce sided with small potatoes and asparagus. Overall nothing exceptional but for an airport restaurant, far better than what you'd get in most even if you could find lamb chops which you probably in most couldn't. read more

It's airport food. Nuff said. I needed a meal before my five and a half hour flight back home and was in Terminal 5. This is one of the few restaurants located in this terminal, so decided to check it out. They have an impressive beer list - if it's available. When I visited I immediately saw that they had a 90-minute Dogfish Imperial IPA, which is one of my favorite beers, but found out they had sold out. So, I ordered another Imperial IPA and when I attempted to order a second round, they had just sold out of that one, too. But, they do have an extensive wine list and a full bar, just in case! The food though is the real tragedy here. I know, I know, it's airport food, but still. It is possible to serve good food at airports. I ordered the Turkey Burger, which was disappointing. The turkey patty was overcooked, so was dry. The cranberry-mayo it came with was also bad, as it was too sweet. I also don't think cheddar is the best option for a turkey burger with cranberry sauce either, so ended up smearing off the cranberry-mayo, to make it more edible. The bun was absolutely dry and thick, so also ripped most of it off, as well. I did like that it came with sweet potato fries, as I prefer them over regular fries - so ended getting my dinner's worth with them, even if some were wilted. I don't expect top tier food at the airport but why is it always so bad? Chili was bad, the side of mushrooms was an awkward plate of over-buttered sliced mushrooms, the steak sandwich was ok, the fries were bad. Service was actually ok which is why this place is getting more than 1 star. We had time to kill before our flight so that's the only reason we decided to grab food at a restaurant vs the little food court nearby. Next time we'll just get a lounge pass at T1 before coming here. You'd be spending the same amount of money. read more

We have 10 people setup to eat for dinner while we are waiting for a long layover . We ordered the wings and calamari to start , came out decent like any other bar food restaurant . Some of us ordered the cowboy steaks the way we requested , but it came out all wrong the way it's cooked. We have to send it back to cook it right . The steaks taste like meat you get at a fast food joint . My homemade steak will blow their steak out of the water . We were not happy with a 40 dollars steak that's not good quality.
