When your JetBlue flight is delayed for three hours... You google the various food options at this terminal (5) and see that all of them get 2.5 to 3 out of 5 stars. So it's all going to be about the same and you resign yourself to a mediocre meal. Here's what we had: Chicken club sandwich, as I wanted something healthy'ish. It was $20 and came with fries. It was okay, a bit tough to chew, but tasted fine. The fries helped...I mean, a mediocre sammy can be bolstered by great fries. Were these great? Nope, but they still helped. The hub had their signature burger, as he suspected this type of place can't mess up a burger too badly. He said it was good, solid. So there you go, get the burger. His fries were the same as mine, of course, not served hot, which makes a big difference. In an effort to dissipate some of our anxiety over the inexplicable flight delays, we decided to order alcohol as well. While the wines on their list have prices, the cocktails and beers have no pricing. The hub got a Lagunitas, the best option there for a microbrew nerd, which was $13. I got a mediocre red wine (Montepulciano) which was $12 for 5oz pour and $17 for a 9oz pour. It was the cheapest option, so I went for it, as I was doubtful any of the other options would be much better. The moral of the story is to bring food with you if you're aware that you're going to experience delays. When you don't know until you get to the airport (as in our case today), the "best" options available are decent, not great, and of course more expensive than you'd pay outside of the airport. Getting our water after eating is quite helpful; I think my food was getting stuck in my throat. Oh, service? What service? We had to get our own silverware because our server had disappeared. And just because I'm delayed and want to sit down at an "actual restaurant" doesn't mean I'm going to drop $40 on a steak that I would have to saw at with a plastic knife. The classic caesar salad. The mac 'n' cheese. The crispy chicken tenders. And we were right, they weren't all bad. The crispy chicken tenders were excellent once we received the honey mustard (necessary), and the sliders and the caesar were passable. Unfortunately, the mac 'n' cheese was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant, ever. So don't get that if you find yourself stuck here. And tip your waitress. A bit pricey, but it's a captive audience in an airport, and when JetBlue has delayed your flight again, it's a decent alternative to sitting by the gate eating pastries. Drink prices were a bit excessive, but they were strong. I had the pulled pork sliders, which were pretty good but would have been great on a different bun. Husband had the fish and chips and was satisfied. Service was pleasant but spotty- had I been in a rush, I would have been annoyed at the time it took to get our check. Considering this is an airport restaurant and that people have flights to catch, the food still comes out really slow. They took about 40 mins to bring out our food and at that point we had to scarf down our food to get to our flight. I got the turkey burger but there was absolutely no seasoning on the patty. I could almost just taste the meat and it was not enjoyable at all. Also, the burger patties are half the size of the bun so the first few bites all around the burger all I got was bread. Given that this is an airport restaurant I'm trying to be understanding, but my experience there was pretty bad. Seems understaffed, but staff also seems to put in minimal effort. Each time I needed something from my server I needed to get up and ask, including placing my order - they didn't come check in on me once after getting seated, I needed to get up after several minutes to ask for a menu and place an order. I saw the same thing happen to others who were waiting, and the sever started getting rude with an old couple who simply asked about the status of their order. The food was subpar. I ordered a medium rare burger and got a well-done patty. It was dry and flavorless. Prices were solid. Wait time for a burger and fries was ~35 minutes, so if you have a short layover I'd definitely avoid this place. Definitely won't be coming back next time I'm at JFK. I ordered the smokehouse burger with fries - the burger bun was a bit disappointing and the fries were soggy. I asked for BBQ sauce but apparently they don't have any and was given a "substitute" which was not pleasant to taste. I would have been satisfied had it not been for the atrocious customer service - it took 30 minutes to get the burger and when my drink ran out, I needed to ask three separate times and that took 10 minutes while I waited. I ordered a cappuccino and was brought a regular coffee with milk on accident. The waiter caught the mistake before setting down the wrong order and came back with a cappuccino with a ton (a bit too much) milk foam. Other breakfast items included a $10 fruit bowl, a breakfast burrito, a breakfast quesadilla and bananas foster pancakes. There is plenty of seating so this is a good option for large groups. Went in with very low expectations. This terminal has very few sit down options and none have good reviews. Most airport food is downright bad, this was better than expected. I ordered the $24 smokehouse burger. Yes it's overpriced, but you're in NY. The burger has smoked Gouda cheese, chipotle mayo, and a decent amount of well cooked bacon. The burger itself was cooked as I ordered to medium, I was pleasantly surprised as it looked dry at first glance. The fries came out hot and crispy, after adding a bunch of salt and pepper they were solid. My wife ordered a chicken BLT club which she said was decent, it certainly wasn't the worst she's had. The food also came out pretty quickly which is always appreciated when waiting to catch a flight. Don't expect awesome food, but stick to standard fare and you might do alright. read more

We talked to the server and server apologies then said it was the wrong steak overall and would make whole new one. We had to wait for additional 30 mins for the steak and they still forget our side. Told the server that the side is not there so we decide to cancel that side order. The steak came rare. It wasn't medium rare at all. You can eat few bites only. Picture attached and says everything.
