My motor was blown in my souped-up JDM Scion XB due to a heavy rain/puddle of water and cold air intake. I had Long find and installed a different motor and it even came with a 1yr warranty. 11months later the motor started knocking so I took it back to 5Star. These guys just lost a customer today. They might do good work at a reasonable price, but their customer service was under par, for sure. I got a call from them at 4:55 pm. I called back at 5:05 and was told by Thu that it was OK for me to pick up the car slightly after 5:30, given the rush hour traffic. I got to their place at 5:45. Long was annoyed that I was late. He said it would take an hour to cut zip ties, which should've been cut as part of the work they performed. I had questions about the radiator work they did, but given their attitude, I did not feel like asking them and ended up leaving without having my questions answered. read more

I had some wheels I wanted to put on my GTI. My tires only had 10,000 miles on them, so I didn't want to get new ones just yet. It cost me $80 to get my new wheels mounted and balanced on my old tires. Discount Tire wanted $180. I'd go to them if I needed a new set of tires but the savings here were really good. Long seems pretty legit - his price will be fair, but give him the time he needs to complete the repair or service. That means if it's going to take some time, take an Uber or Lyft out of there if you don't already have a ride. I was referred to these folks by Luu Auto since they don't do balancing. Came here again after great service the first time. Went in to what I thought was getting my brakes replaced or were getting close to needing to be replaced due to a slight squeaking noise. Cool guy upfront got me in right away, checked my car and said they were still in great condition. He went as far as call the dealership, check the different type of brakes, the use if the materials/way of making them were updated, therefore causing the squeak. Even explained to me different kinds of breaks and materials used. This guy went above and beyond to give me peace of mind that all was well. I love this place! My car is newer and requires a special oil filter, and both times I've been for an oil change, they have unfortunately been out of the filter. But each time, they have simply run to go pick it up elsewhere where most places would say they'd have to order it, it'll take a few days, yada-yada-yada.
