I looked for a month before finding a good used Prius. I had 7 business days after purchase to change my mind, so I needed trusted mechanics to check it out in that limited timeframe. I took it to Danny Luu bc he was my trusted mechanic when I lived in austin. And though he's not a hybrid car mechanic, I wanted a thorough check of all the nonhybrid components. I took my Prius to him, met a friend at Kim Phung next door for lunch, and he finished the inspection in a little over an hour. This was a whole car exam, the kind like you might get before going on a long road trip. Danny gave me a 2-3 page report on all the systems and components (except the hybrid stuff) which pointed out a couple of things that would need attention sooner rather than later. This was exactly the kind of very useful exam I wanted for my car and it gave me peace of mind about buying an older used car. Then 2026 arrived and hello high gas prices! I'm so glad I went with the Prius--best car purchase I could've made! And Danny Luu made it possible--thank you Danny So glad you're still working after all these years! He's one of the most honest, reliable, trustworthy mechanics in Austin.

The place is busy and I was told it would have to be done in the morning, not a surprise since I just showed up since they don't do appointments for alignments. Ended up leaving it rather than driving back the next day (Free!) and they locked it in their large fenced in area. Had it ready by 11 AM and when I picked it up everything was right. Steering wheel centered, no pulling in any direction and turn the steering wheel lose on a smooth straight stretch of road and almost no drift. Better than expected for a 2006 Jeep. Cost at $55.00 including tax is at the low end of waht I have seen shops wanting. Yeah I will be back.

They were busy but were able to get me into the shop a week later. Well, it took all of 15 minutes to determine that I didn't need any of the recommended repairs. All Tune took the time to show me the parts in question and treated me respectfully. They also looked up my service schedule and let me know when I would really need to perform maintenance. So then when my neighbor took off my bumper a few weeks later, I knew exactly who I wanted to go to in order to have the body work done. It took about a week to get a new bumper, lights, paint job done, which is amazing considering this accident happened over Thanksgiving (my neighbor was apologetic and i'm grateful he left a note). Recently I came in to replace the rear brake pads because my Mini Cooper gave an automatic warning to replace them based on mileage. I brought it to Auto 7 Tech; rather than simply replacing the pads they inspected it and actually told me that the pad thickness was fine and that I didn't need to replace them yet - the prioritized being honest over getting me to pay for potentially unnecessary service. However when I went to pick my car up, they let me know that they had inspected more closely and found that the inner surface on the left pad was indeed worn down. I appreciate this attention to detail and transparency. I also asked them if I needed to replace the rotors, and they told me that they had driven the car around and concluded that the rotors didn't need replacement (in contrast two other shops insisted on bundling the pad replacement and the rotor replacement). In my experience Auto 7 also gives very fair pricing compared to other shops. At Auto7 they will inspect your car carefully and thoroughly before recommending service, and they will not try to upsell you or take advantage of you.
