Why keep the store open when half the menu items aren't available? No halo halo, tandoori chicken, duck, lychee jelly, buns, noodles, dumplings, spring rolls, you name it. I had to list out 10+ different items just to find something off the menu that they were still serving. I've never had to wait over half an hour just for a banh mi and fruit tea. There was only one couple waiting for their to-go order who came in 10 minutes after I ordered yet they got their food/drink before I did. It took forever just to get the sandwich to come out and they didn't even toast the bun which I don't get what caused the hold up on that when it takes only a few minutes to slap toppings on. It took 20 minutes just for the fruit tea to come out which only takes a few minutes to make. The worker apologized about the wait and made an excuse that there were so many orders while we were the only customers ordering when the restaurant was dead. The tables and everything else inside are also really dirty. The fruit tea tastes like sugar water, the dessert was just a bunch of artificial canned jelly and milk, and the sandwich definitely used bad meat that was sitting out. There was not a single item that was good and definitely not worth the wait. The sandwich also gave my dad food poisoning.

This was actually my 2nd visit to 5t Ice. The very first visit, the door was sticky and it looked dark inside, so we thought they were closed even though there were employees in there and were about to leave. Second time was a charm for sure!..which left me feeling overwhelmed and excited about the choices. This review is mostly about my recent visit. I'll briefly describe my first visit in 2019, which was a little disappointing. I didn't know what to order and randomly picked something with stale brownies/cookies and chocolate ice cream. We also got some soft serve, which they no longer have. The snack were also a little stale as well, so I won't even get into that. 6/26/24 visit: I literally walked in there and asked if they had cheese foam and she said YES (but that it is new and not on the menu yet)! I wasn't expecting her to say yes AND they have other drinks I've been wanting to try (in general) AND they have ube foam. I can't even....she was laughing at how speechless and confused I was with all the options. Ultimately, I asked her if I can have the iced Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam, basically created my own drink (typical me....). The drink was absolutely amazing, with a very strong coffee flavor, the way I love it. They do carry different snacks (Japanese cheesecake, ube cake, pre-packaged croissant, etc.), but I'm definitely more interested in the drinks. I love that they are keeping up with the trends, so I definitely will return for a 4th and 5th (etc.) visit to try the coconut matcha foam and the ube foam. The location itself is kind of in the corner of the structure. It looks a little bit like a "hole in the wall" type place, but this time, I wasn't fulled, I made sure to order the right thing. Also, it helped that the employee was super nice and helpful...I do wish I got her name, but I was just too busy being overwhelmed and excited.

If you are craving for Filipino tasting TAHO, this is the best place you can go to! It tastes soooo similar to our favorite breakfast/dessert! No ginger taste, same great texture! You can buy it small or large container. It may be far from our home, but worth driving! They even have the other fares like filipino ice creams, buko pandan, kinda binatog delicacy, halo halo, mais con yelo, etc! Check them out & their other vietnamese food/snacks!

Always my favorite go to place. They have a lot of great vietnamese fast food here. Love their avocado smash. The store is small so there is not a lot of seating place but one table. They have quite a selection of different vietnamese food every weekend.

Thanks to the PBS kids app my three year old really needed to try halo halo. This was the closet place I could find and I'm glad we made the trip. Very interesting dessert and I definitely finished it off, but lack a comparison to judge if it's representative of what a Filipino restaurant would serve (my friend recommended a spot in Woodbridge which I'll have to try). Expect a small business vibe that is optimized more for a grab and go than dine in experience (don't judge a book by its cover here). They were bustling with people grabbing drinks, food, and desserts. Preschooler was happy, I was happy, what more do you need?

I came here for fun to try some drinks. I saw they got many good tasting drinks, such as ube and mango. Surprisingly, they have milkshakes too. However, my milkshake was not satisfying. It tasted more like just Oreos and milk rather than good ice cream. I wouldn't recommend getting this item. My friend got an ube smoothie and she said it was delicious! They used magnolia ice cream, so you know it's gonna be good! I'd come back here to try other drinks if it was closer to me. This isn't a dine in place and the restroom apparently doesn't work. The inside is a little messy with all the supplies they have. If you don't care about the interior, then this is a must try place for drinks.

First time coming here since they moved from Chantilly and changed their name. I stopped really sick after eating a Banh bao that they had refrigerated and reheated. I'm sure the baos came from 3rd party supplier...but they sit out all day then whatever is left, they refrigerate and sell. I don't fault them but I've learned to only buy them same day, never if it's refrigerated. Their Banh mi sandwiches are made to order so I never had issues and really enjoyed them. I ordered a house Banh mi and halo halo....asked for extra pate. The kid said ok. He made the halo halo, I didn't see the traditional flan on top so I asked him. He said he don't put it on unless it's requested??? Ok I then requested it. He looks around and doesn't find any and the lady in the back said something to him in Vietnamese and he tells me they are out. I took it as is...it was still good...just a little disappointed that you have to request it since traditional halo halo has it on top. Banh mi literally had one thin slice of ham, one slice of cha lua, and some pate. I didn't even see the roasted red pork or the mayo....and remember I asked for extra pate. That definitely didn't happen. I heard the kid tell her house banh mi and nothing else. So once again, they have failed me. I will not go back.

5t Ice was a good dessert shop, featuring Asian flavors and treats. Located in northern Virginia in a retail strip, near major shops, it's easy to find and there's something for everyone here to enjoy. I visited 5t Ice for a drink and saw that they had an ube milkshake, which I had to try since I love ube anything! I visited soon after it opened on a weekday and was the only customer inside at the time, so there was no wait. The shop itself is small, with only takeout offered. There was no room for dining inside. My ube milkshake was good, especially since it was made with ube ice cream. It had a good consistency of milk to ice cream, so it was blended perfectly. Because it was a milkshake, it was definitely on the heavier side, so I ended up drinking this shake in two days. I loved how creamy the ube ice cream was! In addition to a variety of drinks, from boba teas, to smoothies and shakes, they also had desserts like pandan cake slices, cheesecakes, etc. Glad to have checked out 5t Ice while in town.

They have good drinks and desserts but food is... subpar. They used to have a better variety/selection when they first opened but it's very limited now. Storefront isn't very visible but it's in the same strip as SARKU Japan. Nice spot for those living in Stone Ridge/South Riding (pick up location) since it's close to home but not the best around. read more

5t Ice is an amazing hidden gem in the Dulles Landing shopping center. Amazing beverages and desserts, but if that wasn't enough they also sell delicious vietnamese food. My personal favorite thing to order is a lemongrass chicken bahn mi (vietnamese sandwich) and for dessert: I love the Ube Sundae. Their bao buns are amazing as well. My boyfriend's favorite item to get is the Dole Whip drink. Soo good! On top of that, the staff is extremely friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a great meal/time. read more

We were looking for a place to take mom out for a treat, and were not disappointed. I was actually looking for tutti frutti in Chantilly but it has closed down- and stumbled upon this place on Yelp instead. A friend mentioned that it's the same owners but they moved? My husband got the halo halo, and the only complaint he had was the beans they put at the bottom (not the same beans normally in halo halo). I tried a little and it was good, but just a little sweet for my taste. I got the buko pandan and it was also a little sweet for me but would definitely order it again. They also had some premade food trays and desserts. I ended up getting some banh bot loc- I haven't had it in so long. It satisfied my craving and was the perfect addition to my lunch leftovers. I couldn't help grabbing a slice of ube cheesecake for dessert and that was yum too. read more

We go here often on the weekends to pick up bánh bao. Their bao is good portion size (not too big & not too small). The dough ratio is just right to the meat fillings. This past Sunday we tried their bánh giò and it was also good. Would recommend both types of bao. read more

Love this place for all my Vietnamese treats!! I come here when Eden Center is just not worth the drive. They have Vietnamese desserts and drinks. On the weekends, they have specialty dishes like pre-packaged noodle stir fries and various Vietnamese food. My favorite here is the taho with the ginger syrup. I've loved this since I was a kid and this place makes it perfectly. Not too sweet - just the way I like it. On weekends, I get the pate chaud or the steamed rice dumplings if they have it. Brings me back to childhood each time. Service is excellent here. If you have a question about any of the items, they are more than happy to answer. They are so nice!! Love coming here. So glad to have this establishment so close to home. read more

While picking up Papa Johns next door, we spotted 5t Ice and decided to bookmark it. This is now the closest bubble tea/froyo place to my crib. The cashier is friendly and quick. Plenty of indoor seating. Everything is kept neat and clean in here. They have a wide variety of drinks, cool treats, desserts, snacks, etc. Tried the Halo Halo and a Banh Mi. Their Halo Halo was on point. I wasn't a big fan of their Banh Mi though. The bread was good and the veggies were fresh but the pork was served cold (slightly frozen) and lacked flavor. I really wanted to try some of their other Vietnamese goodies, but since I came on a weekday, I don't think they offered it. Overall, I'm glad we have a dessert place closer to home. I'll be back to try more of their specialty drinks. read more

Update: 1/4/2019: the fruitti tuitti in chantilly closed and is owned by the same people. I saw it on Facebook and that they moved everything to the 5T location. We haven't been to 5T since the merger until the other day. They have a lot more drink options and food options. We got bingsoo and ordered a few banh mi sandwiches. All the food was delicious and fresh. People were ordering cold drinks and desserts in winter. Hopefully in the summer business will be even busier. I want this place to succeed! There are only three tables inside the store. Maybe add some outdoor seating in the summer? Good food and friendly staff. Check them out!! Original review: Their bubble tea isn't as good as kung fu tea or other places but we come here when we don't want to leave the neighborhood area. The store is very small and located on the side of papa johns. They sell Vietnamese food and some desserts as well. I saw recently that the tutti fruitti in chantilly is owned by the same owners and had to shut down the tutti fruitti due to high rent costs and would be merging with this store here and sell more Vietnamese foods and drinks. I haven't been here since the merger but I'm hoping the food is good. I really want this place to survive so I don't have to go far for Asian drinks. I hope the owners see this review. I think they need to do a better job at marketing. To be honest kung fu tea isn't the best bubble tea in the area but it is popular due to the marketing and hype. This place needs to market towards the younger crowd of teenagers and high schoolers. Maybe make the inside more hip or have more seating. Then teenagers will come hangout and "chill" at the location. Just some food for thought. read more

I love this place! I use to go to the one in Centreville next to my house but they closed that one down. It's so good that I drive all the way to this one further away from me! There's really no place near me other than Annandale that has Vietnamese Che. The customer service is good as well! If you don't know what something is they are always so happy to name what's in it! read more

I've been looking for a place that serves real taho. After reading another review, I got excited. I decided to visit for myself, and had high hopes. Unfortunately, it completely missed the mark! The sago tasted old and hard, the syrup was extremely watered down. The whole thing tasted bland with no flavor or sweetness to it. My husband and I were going to try other things on the menu, but opted not to after tasting their version of taho. Being Filipino, I was excited to see a place serve classic Filipino desserts, but after this experience, I can say it was highly dissapointing. read more

5T Ice is located right off Loudoun County Parkway near RT50. At first I thought this place was located in Sterling near Dulles Town Center. Every thing I've ordered here has been delicious from the Buko Pandan, Che Thai, to the 5T Special. I can't wait to come back and try more. Definitely a place to try. read more

What a fun place with so many choices!! The people there are so friendly and helpful. Loved the taro shaved ice with pudding and tapioca pearls! The roasted duck steam bao are delish. Great small little business tucked away in a pretty large shopping center. We've only been patrons of 5t Ice for a year or so, and we love their boba drinks. We come here occasionally when we don't feel like making the trip to Falls Church for some Vietnamese goodies - haven't had any issues before until today. Ordered the "5T Herbal Tea" and what I got didn't even resemble what I ordered (see pic attached). I asked the gentleman working the register about it. He told me that in the picture, there is herbal jelly in the drink, which is why it looks darker than my drink but it's EXTRA (aka $$). Told him it's a bit misleading to put drinks on the menu & you have to add on each ingredient in order to get what you're looking at... Husband's mash avocado came with all the jelly EXACTLY like pictured in menu but ookayyy *shrugs* A lady ordered halo halo after us & it came with all the goodies & scoop of ube ice cream on top. Wonder if she had to pay for each ingredient individually aside from whatever the base drink is (100% sarcasm) P.S. my drink tasted sugar water (barely any sugar mind you) - NOTHING like that I ordered last time. I have been coming here now for over 3 years. Initially Truc and his wife owned both Tutti Fruiti and 5t ice. Now they own just 5t ice. Their execution in all their desserts especially Filipino items are amazing. The Taho is authentic! My vietnamese buddy even mentioned that their banh mi's rival the ones in Eden Center. My typical go to here is Okinawa brown sugar milk tea with boba and coffee jelly without the lychee. Just recently, he started selling the hard to find Mango Sago!!! Only place I could find this was on the West Coast. Cant go wrong with mango and sago with coconut milk. Please do yourself a favor and try this amazing dessert, it will change your life Haha. read more

Coming from a bubble tea connoisseur (haha), I really enjoyed their tea! I'm in this area often and find myself fighting the craving because I was unaware that there was a spot with bubble tea - GOOD bubble tea - in the area! I will be coming back. They also offer gelatos which I have not tried. If you're into bubble tea, I would most definitely give them a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more

I got the mango smoothie here. It tasted like they put in real mangos. A wonderful cold drink to cool off. Its more of a pick-up place as there's not much room inside. Pricing seems reasonable compared to other places. I'll probably be back to try other things if I'm in the area. read more

Yesterday my husband went to 5T Ice to get me Mango Bingsu. He pointed to the picture that says Mango Bingsu. The guy there made him mango shaved ice and charged him $6.49 for SHAVED ICE. When he got home he said he thought he may have made a mistake in ordering. I asked him what did you say you wanted? He said Mango Bingsu, and pointed to the menu picture. I'm a regular at 5T Ice, and go there weekly. The guy knows me. But this time he argued and said your husband does not know what he ordered, he specifically said shaved ice. My husband went in there to dispute him and told the young man, he pointed to the picture. But the guy keeps insisting nope, you ordered shaved ice. I told them it's ok, lesson learned, despite pointing to the picture you get what you get and considered yourself lucky, right? I will never come back. It's ok, You lost me. No point arguing. The girl who works there knows me and quickly came over to diffuse the situation and offered to re make the correct item, and even mentioned that I am a regular there and always order Mango Bingsu. She remade the order. This is not to diss them, as they are genuinely nice people. But the young man there needs to know how to treat customers. And use some common sense. Almost $7 for shaved ice? Like shaved ice with gold sprinkles? For real? read more

I introduced my siblings to this place, who were visiting from out of town. And they asked to come back multiple times! New things I tried this week: Okinawa brown sugar tea - really good, strong molasses/caramel flavor. Get it with custard. 5T Special - coconut water with longan, coconut, jelly, and chia. Refreshing and not too sweet. Summer rolls with shrimp and pork and no cilantro! Yay! Served with peanut sauce. And a green taro pudding with coconut milk that is super delish. I was told the banh mi was really good, too! read more

Highly Recommended 1. The store is very clean. 2. Staff is nice and friendly. 3. The Halo Halo drink is delicious and addictive. The presentation of this drink is colorful. The ube ice cream on the top is very yummy. The green jelly is chewy and tasty. The mix of the beans and the rest of the ingredients go very well together. When I was close to finishing this drink, my tongue was numbed cus of the crushed ice. The experience of having this drink could have been enhanced if less ice is used. 4. Buko Pandan drink is delicious as well, but the level of satisfaction goes down very quickly. It is because all of the ingredients in this drink taste almost the same. So, the taste become dulled quickly as you kept drinking it. read more

Delicious and unique experience! I love their awesome selection of Bubble teas, smoothies and shrimp rolls in rice paper and peanut sauce. They also make sesame balls on the weekend it's filled with mung bean paste. They have frozen yogurt with a bunch of toppings as well as ice cream. This place is friendly, clean and yummy! I was happy to hear that banh mi sandwiches were sold here. I got the cold meats combo. The meats tasted fresh but the French baguette/bread was disappointing. It tasted very hard and chewy texture. If the bread was fixed, I would rate this place higher. Didn't try any of the drinks or desserts but the place looked clean and new. read more

I went here because I heard they sold Japanese Cheesecake and I had to try it. Very nice people. I enjoyed their bao buns and the bahn mi. Some of the desserts and drinks menu don't have much description but they will provide you with a description of what goes in it. read more
