What a gem! I visited this studio this last weekend as part of its open house. I liked the space immediately upon entering. All of the staff were so nice and friendly. Prior to this, they did business in the city. About a month ago, they decided to move out here to Brooklyn. I was able to chat with its owner Nina. Nina's good friend Katie was also there at the open house to be as supportive as possible. I heard how challenging it was for Nina to completely renovate the space and they wanted to keep the space as simple as possible. I have to say it certainly worked! Everything in here looked so elegant and classy. Their prices are clearly listed both in store and on its website. They do walk-ins for most services and require appointments for some of the other services. Raquel did my hair and I absolutely loved it! Definitely ask to see her on your next visit. I rarely spend anytime on my hair so it was nice to just sit down one day and enjoy the process. If I have any special event that requires some extra effort in the near future, I will definitely return here!

Paulina is the best! She cuts styles and colors me for many years. I've had highlights for 20 years and my current color is my favorite. Paulina styles with care and patience. She's not afraid to try new styles and is diligent in finding the perfect look. The salon is always very clean and welcoming. Great place.

I love my new hair color!!! Nina is absolutely the best...She always recommends the right cut and the right color and so accommodating. Before I used to bleach out my hair a lot, Nina recommended balayage and I love it, my hair looks so healthy. I also have hair extensions for a few years now. I tried many high end and very expensive salons until I met Anastasia (@hairwownyc) she is the best. No one has the patience to do this "jewelry work", but she does it with love and passion. She is a truly the best hair extensions specialist. I have received several compliments just in one day with the new look. Thank you!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I will highly recommend the salon, Nina and Anastasia. The salon is beautiful, clean & hip. The atmosphere is cool and so friendly. I have very fine hair & have gone from stylist to stylist because no one gets it right. Thank you 5th Ave Hair Studio

Thought this place would be nice for a quick curl and hairstyle for a party I had to go to that night. Now I don't live in Brooklyn but was not disappointed! The lady that did my hair was nice and put in curls that lasted me over 24 hours until I washed my hair! I recommend this place, and the pricing is decent

Go to Jenny bc let me start off by saying I'm very particularly about my hair.. having very long curly hair can be a challenge for a lot of stylist which usually results in an uneven cut for me and let's not even talk about the color... however Jenny being a fellow curly haired girl knew exactly what i needed to bring my hair back to life she suggested a light trim/shaping and balayage and i couldn't be happier with the end results!! I LOVE IT!!

Thank you, 5th Ave Hair Studio

Love the ambiance. Ask for Paulina (I've followed her to every salon she's worked) - she is the only one I trust with color and cuts.

I can't say enough amazing things about the salon and Nina the owner, who is an amazing colorist, and stylist.

Krystal is incredible! From the moment we met she was attentive, warm, and genuinely cared to…read moreunderstand my hair goals. The haircut I received was perfect, and she took care to leave me with tips for styling at home. I will absolutely be recommending her to my friends.

I had a good experience a year ago with Adriana and saw that Vikki had been reviewed well online,…read moreso I chose him to cut my medium length hair into a bob. I showed a reference photo multiple times and had only one specification: please keep at least an inch of length under my chin. My hair is straight and quite easy to work with, so I was confused when he just started cutting from the back and didn't check in with me to confirm that the length felt right to me at any point. He seemed sweet and did apologize when I pointed out the major length issue (my hair now stopped above my jawline) and blamed it on the "wet to dry" transition. However, this length difference was substantial and I have a hard time understanding how a French bob could've occurred accidentally (he did request to take a photo of the before and after). This result was unfixable. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested a discount, management was kind and did grant it. While I appreciated the 30% off, I feel that I cannot recommend this stylist -- I now feel incredibly self-conscious and have to wait months for my hair to even reach a length that feels comfortable.
