We stopped in on a Sunday evening around 6:00 PM; the restaurant was quiet, so we were able to order immediately. The service was a standout. The cashier was incredibly helpful, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations. About 10 minutes after ordering, our food was served exactly as requested. The burgers looked fantastic, and both the onion rings and fries arrived piping hot. Beyond the food, the restaurant was well-maintained--the beverage station was fully stocked and the restrooms were clean. We went here for dinner on our last full day in AZ. Our grandsons and their Dad all wanted hamburgers. They noticed that 5th Street Burgers & Fries wasn't all that far from our hotel. The set up is such---read the menu board and place our order with the cashier. If you are dining in, they will give you a number to place on your table. Soda is self-serve. The dining area isn't very big, and the place is on the cavernous side. Not much in the way of ambiance. The people who work there were friendly. Some of us ordered cheeseburgers while others ordered sliders. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and forgot to add fries. No problem, as my husband shared his with me. Came here for date night, not realizing it was more of a fast food joint than a real dine in. The gentleman with glasses helped us, he was very friendly and gave us great suggestions. They cook their meat well done here, which was fine. I did find their patties to be pretty thin for the price. Very similar to in and out sizing but pricier. We got two different burgers to try and the chili cheese fries. Avocado Swiss and bacon cheese burger were good, their sauces definitely help elevate the burgers a little. Not a fan that you can't tip the staff on a credit card purchase. For a $23 burger + fries, the service was really the only thing I felt was worth it and wished they'd get that in their pocket. I really love the concept, which is why I'm still giving it 4 stars. I just think I made a mistake getting a gluten free bun because it was still cold. I should have gone for the lettuce wrap or make it a salad. You can get flaming hot Cheeto dust on your burger, so that's really all you need to know for indulgence. The HVAC was not keeping up. Service 3/5 This is a counter order business and you take a table number for delivery when your order is ready. We had to wait almost two minutes before someone came up to help us even after pushing the buzzer. Our order taker was hot and sweating so much her shirt was wet, I felt bad for her. My Wife ordered the Slider combo "w/o cheese" and I ordered the Tempe Burger combo w/onion rings. Food 3/5 Our order was delivered in 5-10 minutes. The sliders arrived with cheese a "big"no-go for my wife. She concentrated on her fries. My burger was big and it tasted ok but not what I expected based on the reviews. Happy we stopped in here! The restaurant has a solid amount of seating both inside and outside. The service was not the fastest but there was a big rush of people that came right after us so that likely slowed things down. We were super impressed by the fries (I'm having a hard time thinking of where I've had better) and the burgers were good but nothing special. I came in for the first time today. I wanted to check this place out and I figured tonight was the night! I got the original two sliders with sweet potato fries. I did add onion to my burgers. Both came with a side of sauce, and I have to tell you that was amazing! Sweet potato fries has some type of sweet caramel or some sort. Wow is that good! The burger sauce is amazing. It is some type of combo of maybe 1000 island and something else. Very good. The service was quick, but not too quick. All the food was hot and fresh. The only issue I see is that it is a Sunday evening a little after 6 PM and it is so hot in here. It's almost unbearable. Not sure what this will look like in this summer. Wanted to try the fries so I opted for combo pack. I asked what makes it Nashville hot fries, she said seasoning.. I said meh... I'll try it. Burger looked pretty good. With the onion rings added I literally had to squash my burger so I can eat it.. I mean I tried without it first and I failed. Fries were hot, crispy and the seasoning was better than I expected. Burger... Well..... My first bite I was like hmmmm where is the flavor.. Where is the spice.. I was disappointed to see that they used canned jalapeño instead of fresh. Fresh makes it so much tastier IMO. Over all burger was grilled way I like it. Just under medium.. But it lacked in flavor so many ways. I don't know what constitute this burger western burger, (I know I know the stuff that goes on the burger). It really lacked flavor for me at least. I felt like I was eating just Ole regular burger. Was it bad? No, did I love it for me to say, I can't wait to try the other style of burger? Nooo. I did try the burger with the two sauce that came with it.. Gluten free eater. The atmosphere was nice. Clean but small. Maybe they don't have an AC but they had a swamp cooler on. It was cool but sticky. But it was almost 115 outside. The wait staff was helpful with the menu. I ordered the flaming burger on gluten free with regular fries. My husband got the steakhouse burger with waffle fries. The food came out looking really good. And overall it didn't taste terrible, but it's one of my least favorite burger places. The patties on both burgers were quite salty. The regular fries had seasoned salt and they were salty. The waffle fries had salt but less than the regular fries. I helped finish those. The gluten free bun was good and held together. I informed of my peanut and treenut allergy, and he was incredibly accommodating. He advised he would let the kitchen know since they do have a peanut butter and jelly burger that he said is quite popular. Also, he let me know the fries are cooked in soybean oil. Love when you can dine with peace of mind that you aren't going to need to take Benadryl or heaven forbid, need to use your Epi pen. I recently returned from a visit to Gordon Ramsay's burger place in Las Vegas, and I have to say, this spot completely blew it out of the water! I ordered the All American sandwich with blue cheese and bacon, similar to what I had in Vegas, but the experience here was on another level. The blue cheese was incredibly fresh, and the bacon--wow, it was perfection with the right amount of crisp! The prices were fair, and everyone in our group left completely satisfied with their meal. Everything was just spot on. If this place had a few things on draft and a bit more room, it would be packed nonstop--though it was busy already when we went. Might even stop by tomorrow too!
