This was on our must try places to eat considering 90% of the restaurants that we've tried lately have been terrible. Portillo's did not disappoint. We were in the area for a medical procedure that I was having done so we came in to finally try it. I ordered the cheese burger combo with no sauce it came just the way I ordered it. The meat patty was not over seasoned like alot of burger places and the French fries were served nice and hot not too salty. My boyfriend ordered the same thing and enjoyed it alot. We didn't get a chance to try the chocolate cake I was already higher than a kite from being sedated from my neck injection and just really needed to lay down. We loved the decor inside the store itself was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the Gilbert location they don't seem to disappoint and it's great for large groups.

Recently I added some meat back in to my diet, and Portillo's hands down has the best chicken sandwich! The drive thru was both friendly and fast. The exterior is very clean, and looks to be a newer location. I'll definitely return when in the area or stop at one of their other locations as they have a plant-based dog I do when avoiding meat or this when I can tolerate some meat. A great meal no matter the choice!

I love me a good Chicago dog! It always brings back memories from my childhood. Portillo's makes a decent dog. All the toppings were fresh which made it good. The hotdog didn't have much flavor and kind of disappeared in each bite. The fries were also decent. I tried hubbies Maxwell polish and it was good. If I return, I'll see if I can swap out the polish for the hotdog. Loved the store decor and oldie but goodie music. Takes you back in time. As I type, I think I may go grab a chocolate shake to go. I'm sure it'll be a sweet ending to a sweet day date. If the shake is on point, I'll leave the review as is. If it's not, I'll come back to update it LOL.

This is how the Beef & Cheddar Croissant looked at first glance. Where's the cheddar?!

I'm generally a fan of Portillo's. I like this new location since they have an abundance of booths and offer touchscreens for ordering. The Good: *I love their chili cheese dogs. They have generous amounts of chili, the dog has a good snap to it and the poppy seed bun is always fresh. *I joined their rewards program and was pleased to see items drop into my account - like a free slice of cake for my half birthday and a free Italian Beef sandwich for no reason at all. We really appreciated that. *I attended an event to try their salads (something I normally wouldn't order) and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and good they were. The Not So Good: *I tried something different (the Beef and Cheddar Croissant) and was quite surprised by the lack of cheese on it. I even went up and asked an employee because at first glance, it looked like someone barely sprinkled any on it. They explained that they put most of the cheese wrapped inside the beef but even after I dug around it seemed minimal. For an ingredient that receives co-top billing in the sandwich I thought that was kind of a ripoff and probably wouldn't order it again. My husband and son love the Italian sausage and Italian beef, and since I enjoy the chili dog and the great rewards program I'm sure we'll be back.

Food - Italian beef. I thought it had good flavor and wasn't too salty. The bread had a nice spongy texture to it. The bread wasn't soggy. The beef didn't have a lot of fatty pieces, which I liked. Here's how they describe it on their website. "[Their] famous, homemade, Italian beef is slow-roasted for 4 hours, with a blend of Italian spices, thinly sliced, and served on fresh baked Turano French bread. Customized to your liking by adding home-cooked sweet peppers, hot giardiniera peppers, and as much of [their] secretly-spiced gravy as you'd like! The peppers are extra. You pay extra for the peppers. They also say the following on their website. "The standard sandwich is served by splashing a bit of [their] flavorful, secretly-spiced gravy on it. Some like their sandwich "dipped," which means [they] dip the whole sandwich in [their] gravy. You can also order it "dry," with very little gravy. Why do [they] call it gravy? Because it's actual gravy, just like grandma used to serve: [They] use the beef's natural gravy that comes off of it while roasting for four hours." Their gravy is good. It is not thick. I found it to have a more runny texture, which I did not mind. The gravy had flavor and was not overly salty. I recommend getting it on the side so your Italian beef sandwich doesn't get soggy. If you eat fast that you can get it dipped or wet. Atmosphere - No strange or strong odors or smells. I did not visit the restroom. It was a little busy inside. Many the tables were filled. Service - I was able to order on their electronic kiosk at the front. I loved the large screen. The service here was fairly quick. Order and pay at the counter or kiosk. Self seating. You pick up your order at the second window. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. Would love if they have covered parking with solar panels or plants in the future. Unique - Extremely large kiosk offering screens. Loved it. Did not see a health rating on Yelp. I like seeing the restaurant health ratings. Seemed clean and organized when I visited.

Pretty cool. Quick stop - I had never been inside a Portillo's. The last time I ordered from one in Tucson they got my order wrong and I couldn't eat my sandwich because they added cheese. I went with a coworker, we both enjoyed ourselves. We didn't wait long. My first time in San Tan village.

Can't get enough of this location. This was a random pull into the drive-through to grab an Italian beef and a Chicago style hotdog. On point as always.

Ordered catering at the tune of $450. They were supposed to set it up after delivery but did not. The meatballs and sausages were burnt. Left a message for a callback and haven't heard a thing. Won't be ordering catering again.

The hot dog itself was average. I tried the chili-cheese and the Chicago-style. Their relish tasted funny and the fries were way too salty They call out your order number through an intercom service that is worse than any airport, you can't understand it at all. Do yourself a favor and go to "Ted's Hot Dogs" in Tempe if you want a tasty hot dog

This is a very fun place to visit sit for the whole family. They had lots of eye catching signs all over the place as well as a big neon sign near the ordering area. The employees were nice unfortunately the food was just ok. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and an Arnold Palmer, wifey got a Chicago dog. The drinks are filled by the employees "no soda fountains patrons can access" the spicy chicken sandwich was spicy but had no flavor.

Being from IL my husband chose Portillo's for Father's Day. He wanted a Chicago dog and they didn't let us down Everyone was happy with the delicious food. The gentleman taking our order was pleasant and most helpful. It has a great ambiance to sit with family and enjoy our meal.

I mustard you a question: Do you like hot dogs? I do! Because they're so barbe-cute!…read more I adore the DT Mesa Micky's location and had high hopes that this location will be exactly the same. Somehow, it's not the same at all. $12 al pastor burrito, $12 carne asada fries, and $5 Sonoran dogs. A price tag I'm willing to pay if the food was as good as DT Mesa but it's not. It's not to say that the food was bad but I don't see myself popping in here when I can go to the cozy DT Mesa spot. This is a spacious location and I'll give them that. The salsa bar is well stocked and you definitely won't bee disappointed. Give them a try!

Hot dogs really should be renamed to, "hot wolves." They always come in packs. ;D…read more I heard from a bird that today is #ThankYouThursday. It's on little days like these where showing gratitude to our local businesses is needed. For my #ThankYouThursday, I wanted to show some Yelp-love to Micky's Hot Dog. I first had Micky's at their Downtown Mesa location. While I do believe that location is still much better, this place isn't bad. This second location is in a more spacious spot and there's more seating. The Sonoran hot dog tastes different but it wasn't bad for the price. I would pass on the $12 carne asada fries though. The salsa bar has some standard offerings. I'm glad they were able to open s second location. I wish them much success.
