Quick & tasty! My Husband & I grabbed Bad Jimmy's togo on this fine Sunday, and it was good. This location was clean, the service was prompt, and the food was delectable. The burger was a little salty, but we still devoured. I really like their secret burger sauce, and the the fries were hot & crispy. I would definitely return to Bad Jimmy's!
I was excited to come here with all the hype that I heard about this place. My husband and I came. He loves smash burgers and I was excited because I don't eat red meat but they make from scratch a veggie patty. Everything was sooooo good. The fries were crispy and delicious. The burgers were so tasty and flavorful. Loved that they had a bar. The vibe was super lax and casual. We definitely will be back. If you love burgers you def have to try this place. You won't be disappointed.
07/25/2026 It was 3:30pm on a Saturday, and my friend and I were in Scottsdale and hungry. Neither of us had tried Bad Jimmy's before and heard good things. There was plenty of parking in the plaza. It was not very busy in there, which made sense for that time of day. However, after we ordered at the counter and sat down, we realized there was no air conditioning inside. It was very warm inside. We got our food pretty quickly, scarfed down our burgers, and took the fries to go. My friend glanced at the thermostat - it was 100 degrees inside!! There was no sign on the door or warning from the staff about it. I felt terrible for the staff having to work in those conditions. Regarding the food, I got a Classic Double burger without ketchup/mustard/pickles. It also comes with cheese and diced raw onions. I liked the crust on the smash-burgers, but it was also so thin that it fell off with every bite. The burger did not come with any sides. The seasoned waffle fries were $5. The batter and seasoning reminded me of curly fries. The bathroom was pretty clean, no seat covers. Overall the food was pretty good and I would go back, but they really need to rethink staying open when the interior is that hot!
All I can say is good, good, goodness! These burgers are as good as advertised and the fries are nothing to scoff at! The ingredients and toppings are simple, but it's something about The Arizona Beef they're using that just simply separates them from other burger joints! You know place is good when they're niche and have a one page menu! Just go don't even continue reading this review!
THE BEST SMASH BURGERS YOU WILL EVER HAVE! Bad Jimmys was my husband and I's first stop on our honeymoon. We came and Trystan and Sylvia took care of us. Immediately, as soon as we walked in, we were welcomed and greeted with the warmest smile from the both of them! The food was amazing, but we would honestly come back just because of how thoughtful Trystan and Sylvia were and the way they took care of us! They gave us a full breakdown of the menu and even let us try their vanilla ice cream with flaky sea salt and olive oil! Their smash burgers are made fresh to order and have the perfect crisp on the edges, I recommend adding chili peppers to your burger for that extra kick! All in all we had an unforgettable experience and cannot wait to come back!

It doesn't quite beat a classic In-N-Out or The Habit burger for me, but I've heard their shakes are amazing, so I might have to come back just for that!
If you love smash burgers, you know..super thin, crispy, and somehow still juicy...then this is the spot! Hands down. No where have I had a burger this good. I'm honestly obsessed, I go like twice a week. Music is loud, TV's don't show sports, it's a walk up and order unless you sit at the bar. None of this is a good thing in my opinion, but at the end of the day the burger is amazing, it slaps, fire, whatever adjective you want to use. I always get the double (sometimes I stand there too long before ordering while too hungry, drooling, and I have them make me a triple). I go easy onion with no pickle but that's just my preference. The special sauce goes so well with everything on the burger. Do yourself a favor and go with no expectations except for a very tasty moo-ving burger.

We sat outside - it was nice to get fresh air and still hear their soulful playlist. There's a bar but they weren't serving liquor yet - beer and wine which just perfect. The waffle fries and to die for. Crispy outside and tender inside ... perfection! I can't wait to try 'em again.

It had a nice crust on the patty and the sauce and onions added to the great taste. Ambiance was good. It was too warm outside so we sat inside in one of the booths. Very clean restaurant inside. Even though it has a Scottsdale address, the place is not fancy, so know what you're getting and set expectations appropriately :) I had a Big Marble Proper Lemon (a soda that is apparently made in AZ) with what I like to say was a pastrami sandwich that had a smashburger under it: the L.A. BURG. This is on the menu as "K4 Ranch Griddled Beef Pastrami, K4 Ranch Premium Arizona Beef, Single Patty, American Cheese, Griddled Onions, Mustard, on Martin's Potato Bun" GOOD STUFF! It also had pickles that you can just see in my photo. My wife and I split an order of fries. I am not an expert on fries and will eat them if they're there, but I can take or leave them. These were good, but nothing I found particularly amazing except that they were served hot. The sandwich was a little difficult to eat but the flavors and textures worked well together and the meat was hot. Just be sure to grab a bunch of napkins before digging into this one. The pickles added a nice crunch and a bit of sourness as a counter to the richness of the meat and cheese.

It's a patty made from a loose ball of ground beef, pressed firmly on a hot griddle to make a very thin, wide patty. The smash method gives it a crispy, caramelized crust with juicy beef flavor on the inside. So yes - your patties are supposed to be thin! I like simple so my Lil Jim was perfect for me. (Single Patty, American cheese, Not-so-secret-sauce). Have I mentioned that my husband always ends up ordering the best thing on the menu? He had the L.A. Burg (Griddled pastrami, single patty, American cheese, griddled onions, mustard, pickles.) If you've ever had a Crown Burger in Utah it was reminiscent of that. We found the fries to be crispy and well-seasoned. The inside of the restaurant is loud and fairly small: just a few tables and a row of bar seating. They have a patio which fixes both issues once the weather cools down. One thing to note is the five star service. You don't see that often at a fast casual place. We were greeted multiple times by friendly workers, and were also thanked for coming in by numerous people too. It was really nice to see how kind and invested everyone is in making Bad Jimmy's a welcoming place.

This place nails smash burgers ,juicy, flavorful, and honestly just amazing. The whole spot has a very cool vibe, relaxed and easygoing. When we went, it wasn't busy, so we grabbed takeout and hung out at the bar. Managed to sip frozen margaritas while waiting, which made the whole experience even better.they were tasty but a bit overpriced for the size , 10 dollars. The waffle fries are delicious, crispy and addictive. Overall, super solid place. Will definitely go back. read more

Was staying in Scottsdale for the weekend to attend the 9th Annual Heroin's Anonymous Convention with a grip of friends. We had a craving for hamburgers and Bad Jimmy's was down the road so we hit it up. The place is really small inside and was packed so we sat outside in the patio area. The burgers are the smashed on the flat grill type (semi crispy on the edges. I got the double burger with fries and it was delicious! It definitely satisfied my craving. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a great spot, I'd hit it again if I'm in the area and craving a burger:) read more

Great staff very attentive and happy. Location was convenient and small (4 inside tables, bar with 12ish seats and plenty of outdoor seating if it was cooler), darker vibe inside with dim lighting at lunch Fries were fantastic, hot great flavor good crunch They dont have any ice tea options Burger was good. LOVED the crunch on the ends with it being a smash burger. Bun was meh, tasted like a grocery store generic bun. read more

Oh man, do I love it when something I've been eyeing, meets expectations and all the hype!! I had high hopes for this spot since I really liked the previous restaurant here- Starlight BBQ. I was sad to see that go, but Bad Jimmy's makes up for it. I read some 1 star reviews saying dry burger, no noticeable cheese, or fries were old with no flavor. If that's what happened to y'all...bummer. I had an awesome meal here. Let's not confuse things, it's pricey IMO. My burger alone was $16. This was a $40+ meal for 2 people, essentially fast food style experience. But goddamn I'll pay that again for food I genuinely enjoyed. I'm someone who consistently lists burgers as a top favorite food. Like, I would have one for a last meal situation. And this burger meets my last meal criteria... Bad Jimmy is a bad, bad man :) The fries were great- perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Nice seasoning too. I just used ketchup this time but some ranch would be good too. I ordered the green chili burger since it's likely not on the menu all the time, and I've been on a green chili kick lately. But, I'm really glad my man ordered the classic double. I liked his better than mine lol. It was so cheesy and I liked the sauce on that burger. These smash burgers have great seasoning (aka salt) and the lacey burger char on the edges-- SO good. Someone commented they're too salty, I thought just fine. But I eat out regularly and my taste buds are accustomed to higher levels of salt than people who eat bland food, lol. Fun fact-- most home cooks under salt their food and that's why meals cooked at home can sometimes lack flavor or depth. I'm glad we split our burgers so I could try 2 options. Next time I'm going for the classic double or the double with grilled onion. We finished up our meal with some tasty soft serve. I wanted to order a cocktail from the bar, but decided this time to focus on the food and next time I'll come back for a drink. All the staff working were super nice and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Burger cooked well and crispy. Toppings are proportional and it's really not bad. Got the seasonal Green Chile Burger with inverted buns, which was interesting but tasty. I feel like it was lacking a punch of flavor, especially for $16. The fries.... my favorite. Seasoned perfectly (maybe on the high side which I like). I'd come back just for those. Overall, it's pretty expensive but good food. They have a cocktail bar inside as well and really dim, red ambience which is cool. read more
We finally made it to Bad Jimmy's this past Saturday afternoon, right when they opened. I've been hearing great things about this place since their food truck days but hadn't made it out until now. Let me just say: totally worth the wait. I'm a huge burger fan--any kind, any style--but smash burgers are my weakness. And Bad Jimmy's absolutely blew me away. From the music to the decor, the vibe took me straight back to my high school years. The service was top-notch too; everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Now, the food... wow. The menu is simple, but honestly, that was the best burger I've had in my 40-something years of life. My husband and I were already telling the server we couldn't wait to come back and bring the kids. (He recommended trying their wings, which are available Mondays at this location and daily at their Uptown spot--definitely adding that to our list!) And we didn't wait long to return--brought the kids back the very next day! They loved it just as much as we did. A special shoutout to the server: after a long pool day, our 4-year-old was cranky and suddenly picky (no sauce, then no cheese). While I did a little "mom trick" to get her to eat the burger (just flipped it over to hide the cheese), the server still brought out a fresh Lil' John burger at no charge, just to help. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. Thanks, Bad Jimmy's, for an epic weekend full of burgers, fries, and great service. We'll be back--probably sooner than we should! read more

First off the service was phenomenal, we were greeted upon walking in and helped through the entire ordering process. We ended up getting 2 double burgers with fries, 2 drinks and 6 buffalo style wings. The total was a little over $51 (Not bad for the area) Once we got our food after a very short wait it turned out to be one of if not the best smash burgers we've ever eaten. The fries were perfectly crispy while at the same time flavorful and there was little to no oil on them. The ambiance felt like a blast from the past with all the neon lights and old school booths. read more

Spent the evening feeding the homeless and worked up quite the appetite. My friends suggested Bad Jimmy's and it did not disappoint! We walked in and it felt like a small diner atmosphere. It's a walk up to the counter style restaurant so no actual waiter-waitress. I ordered the special of the day Green Chile burger with a side of fries and it was really really good. read more

Was so excited to drive to this place and try it out after seeing the hype- and the hype was RIGHT! Seriously the most amazing burgers and the waffle fries were perfection! The ranch was so good we bought some to take Home we also indulged ourselves in the soft serve ice cream and it was the perfect treat! Worth the 30 minute drive and happy they opened up the location here. Staff was very kind. Definitely a must for burger lovers!! read more

Wow, one of the coolest small bars in Old Town area. This new burger bar specializes in smash burgers with soft buns. They are delicious! They cook the onions in with the beef and are very savory. Sat at the bar and service was great. Also had an order of waffle fries and they were excellent. Selection of top shelf spirits at the bar and hip cocktails. The burger was over salted and they are priced @ $12, making Bad Jimmys a solid 4 stars. Will come back to try another time and also try the soft serve. read more

Stopped at Bad Jimmy's in Scottsdale after running some errands in the area recently and got really excited to try their smash burgers and wings. The spot is very clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, they were out of wings during my visit but their smash burgers were super juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right! It is easily one of the better burgers I've had in a while. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, making it a good place grab a bite quickly during lunch. They also have a bar, which I can imagine makes it a great spot to hang out after work or later in the evening. Even though I didn't get the wings this time, I was really impressed with the smash burgers and would definitely come back for those alone. read more
