Drinks were great. Appetizers left more to be desired. Fried pickles had a good spice and batter but menu said "spears" and they were chips. Minor detail. The lettuce wraps were virtually inedible. The lettuce wraps were served with a wedge of iceberg lettuce which was difficult at best to "wrap". The mixture itself had an ok taste but had unevenly sized vegetables and chicken. The combination of tiny vegetables, large chunks of chicken and iceberg lettuce made it nearly impossible to eat, even with a fork. read more

Will not return. I will drive to kingsport and just eat at stir fry next time. I ordered drunken noodles with chicken. They brought it out with steak instead. I decided to just eat it because I hate sending food back. Would have been good except the meat was either dry or fatty. It was full of huge chunks of fat. My husband ordered kung pow chicken and it was not spicy at all which is the point of ordering it. The kicker was finding a piece of wire in his food which he nearly ate. So I showed the waitress and she took it to the manager who came out to profusely apologize. We got our meal for free which was OK considering we barely ate any of it. By the way, the wire as it turns out, came from a Brillo pad used to clean the wok. Food quality was poor but the service was good, as was the atmosphere. Great atmosphere in a cool historic downtown. You won't be disappointed with choosing anything that goes with the parmesan truffle fries or sweet potatoe fries. If you love foutain soda you will love they have cherry coke and coke zero. The burgers where excellent. This place lives up to its #1 rating. read more

Great food and awesome service. The 620 Margarita is the best I've had anywhere. The Asian Fusion offerings range from sushi to lo-mein. The American fare offered includes great burgers, prime steaks, chicken and seafood dishes. The Meatloaf Wellington is a must for those that love southern comfort food. This was our first time eating at 620 State. The atmosphere was very laid back and enjoyable. We had the grilled salmon and the ribeye, both were excellent. The sides were delicious as well. The only item keeping the review from being 5 stars was the dessert. We had the cinnamon roll with vanilla ice cream. The roll was a little tough from over baking. We stopped in on our way through town and we're glad we did. It's pretty easy on and off the highway. We sat outside (on the Tennesee side of the street, looking at Virginia across the street) and listened to the country singer playing a few doors down (620 could have turned off their own PA, as said singer was pretty loud, in a good way). We shared a spring roll appetizer, which was pretty tasty. I had the 620 sushi roll, which was so good I could have eaten two, and the spicy tuna roll, which was also great, but could have been spicier. TBH, I can't remember what my companions had (one is a vegan) but we all walked away happy. The staff was very friendly, quick and solicitous. Note: There is a nice variety of flavored iced teas, but they are all "sweet tea," and super-sweet at that. I'm sure it's all very normal around there, but it caught this Yankee by surprise. I just added a little water and it was fine. Prices were on the cheap side of reasonable. Three of us ate for less than $60 (no alcohol or dessert). read more

Great place to eat and hang out. I hit 620 State fairly often, and it has yet to disappoint me. I've always gotten stir fry and drunken noodles, so that's all I can speak on -- those two dishes, however, are delicious. Everyone I have eaten there with has been very pleased, also. I do wish prices were just slightly lower. Additionally, I've noticed that the live music can get unpleasantly loud. Those are my only gripes! read more

Our daughter got married this weekend at the Foundation Event and food for both rehearsal dinner and wedding reception was catered by 620 States. We had so much between the two events, it would be too long to list all food so all I will say is wow!!!! Both quality and quantity were outstanding. Firecracker shrimps, pulled pork, lemongrass chicken, beef tenderloin skewers to name a few, all was absolutely wonderful. The staff was super attentive but never intrusive. The friendliness but yet professional attitude of all made both evening go smoothly. I would not hesitate choosing them again for any other event. One of the best in Bristol. We have always had good service and food. The rib eye is great and so is the crunchy shrimp sushi roll.

I was recommended to 620 State by a bartender at another restaurant. I was not impressed by the bourbon selection at the first restaurant. I didn't eat at here but I did come for a drink after dinner. This place has a huge selection of bourbon and whiskies. More important was the knowledge of Adam and Johnny behind the bar. After a brief conversation, they picked three bourbons that were all wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend 620 State for bourbon lovers. Cannot wait to try the food on my next visit. read more

A must visit if you're in the downtown area. The menu has a wide variety, but they are known for their "Asian" cuisine and sushi. However, all their food is very good. The atmosphere changes depending on when you go. It is a restaurant during the day and then changes into a popular bar at night (especially around the holidays when the college crowd comes back to town). They occasionally have live music. Overall, 620 is a classy establishment without being absurdly expensive. read more

I ate at 620 State during a business trip to the Tri Cities area. The ambiance was great, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the distant music from a nearby restaurant. Unfortunately, being outside meant our waitress came out pretty infrequently, I found myself looking around for help more often that I would have liked. If you get past the slow service, the food is quite good. Their Firecracker Shrimp was the best dish I tried there. The sauce really made it, so I'm guess anything with the firecracker sauce would be similarly delicious. The Queso and Spinach dip and the Blackened Fish were not as flavorful as the shrimp, so I would give them an average rating. A warning about the Inferno Burger, they're not kidding about the inferno! Even for someone who is used to spice, my co-worker had trouble eating it. read more

Delicious! First time to Bristol and highly recommend this restaurant. Pizza is outstanding according to two green girls. Black and Bleu Sirloin Salad with homemade Bleu Cheese dressing was fabulous. Who knew Bristol had food that was this good. Very solid Asian noodles. Son liked his Mac and Cheese and broccoli. Staff was super nice!

I was looking forward to a good meal but unfortunately this was not their night. We had a reservation and were seated on time. The waitress was prompt and drinks were good. My husband ordered the meatloaf Wellington and I ordered the filet medium without the sauce. The meatloaf was very dry. The filet came with sauce so I ask if they could just take it back and remove the sauce. The filet was overcooked and dry to the point I could not eat it. Two people ordered broccoli and had to send back to the kitchen because it was cold. This was not a good experience and I cannot say that I will return. read more

never have i encountered a place so confused about its own identity. 620 stretches too far without enough effort. it tries to be neither asian nor fusion, instead coming off as a very, very american attempt to capitalize on the lack of sushi in bristol. the menu feels distinctly disorganized, and while im aware that "fusion"cuisine means im supposed to expect american and homogenously "asian"dishes, looking for rolls right after hamburgers and meatloaf turns me off. ive not experienced their american options and its not in my plans. alongside that, ive not tried the drinks, as they dont sound very appetizing to me but my fiance has been nothing but disappointed every time she has. the sushi is often soggy-wet and chewy, surprising considering how much it costs. their noodle dishes are underwhelming and greasy, often overzealous on one particular ingredient at a time (usually sprouts or egg). the wait is incredible and the service horrifying, and out of seven or eight desperate visits (many the choice of newcomer friends; id long given up) six of them involved being told "we don't have x ingredient for that, what else can we do for you?" three of those visits invilved this being said over multiple dishes. id never comment on this if it weren't absolutely constant. 620 is more ambitious than is safe for its own wellbeing, and ive never been so repeatedly disappointed. read more
