64, different from its now closed neighbor 64 North is the main dining hall for students in Revelle college at UC San Diego. It has 5 different places to get food within: The Wok(Chinese), Triton Grill(American), Taqueria(Mexican), Garden Bar(Salad) and Al dente(Pasta). Compared to other places at UC San Diego, Triton Grill has very similar foods other dining halls. I would oftentimes get the chicken tenders, fried chicken sandwich or the burgers at this location. A big recommendation that I have for ordering here would be to ask for a side of garlic aioli alongside your order. It really elevates the meal. There is also ice cream here which comes in a massive portion and tastes really good. The Wok is a quick chinese-American place. I personally did not go to this place often as the portions were a little small for my liking but I thought the flavor was really good. At the Taqueria, I would oftentimes get the quesadilla or a burrito. I would usually get the chicken al pastor for both and it tasted really good! I would always get the green salsa over the red however I have always prefered Green Salsa over Red. I have not had the chance to visit Garden Bar or Al Dente but I have heard good reviews about both of them The service at the location is pretty good. You either order in-person or via the Dining app at each location. Usually, when ordering online, they give you an estimate for the amount of time needed so you can avoid long lines if you wanted to. After getting the food, you find your own seats and when finished you are expected to put away your utensils and trash. Overall, Sixty Four is large and mostly well kept. The remodelling looked so nice! We came in around 11:40 for lunch and we luckily dodge the crowd of students who came in at 12. We ordered from the wok section thinking it would be the same as the one in Pines. But no they don't stir fried your food after you pick out the ingredients. It's more like panda express. Food tasted OK but the amount of food was definitely not enough. For $1 more I can get a huge chef salad down the road in Hi-Thai. My friend paid $3 more for extra protein but the amount was no "extra". Come on now dining hall, don't be so cheapskate and feed the starving students better! read more

Came here after class! I don't think anyone ever expects a lot out of a dining hall, but I would say 64° met the basic standards. Ambiance is amazing- super spacious, classy and modern. Food selection is a good variety-salads, desserts, noodle bowls, etcetera. Servers are nice, but it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing, even when I was the only one in line. I ordered a chicken noodle bowl (technically plate) and it wasn't the best of experience. Probably because fall quarter is usually a time to train new employees, so the system was slow. It's simple- you choose a base: egg noodles or white rice. Then vegetables, sauces, meats, and finally basil and/or wonton chips. For some reason there were a lot of flies surrounding the food, and food was cold. (It should be covered with something transparent if possible...) The total came to $6.25 (dining dollars of course) and for some reason the screen says $6.24... Overall, I would give this place another shot if I was around (yay for MWF classes?) but I wouldn't come here because of how far I would have to walk versus quality of food. The best burgers on campus have one big flaw: their grilled mushrooms. As a HUGE fan of mushrooms, I got grilled mushrooms on my burger. While the interior decor is simple and sophisticated, the multiple food stations provide diners a variety of choices ranging from asian fusion to casual american. In addition, the staff are super friendly and consist of both college students and full-time employees. Tip: The burger station is a MUST-SEE. Food here is served restaurant style; after you order/pay at the cash register, the cashier will give you a number, which you can bring anywhere within the dining facility. The burger place is the only good thing about 64 degrees. To start, at the cuisine, the chicken sometimes is still uncooked in the middle and is always TOO oily. At the sub station, there's no variety of sauces and you only have an option of like roast beef and turkey and thats it. You cant even toast the bread. The salad used to be very good but they limited our options and only have chicken most of the time for protein. I would like to see tuna regularly for pescetarians. I can't speak about the rest of the things they serve here, but I always get the burgers and am never disappointed. They may be a bit expensive to eat every day, 5.50$ base price and 6.50$ with just cheese, but when you're able to ad some stuff on to them, they're really good. I'm a big fan of the brioche bun they're served on and I'd highly recommend adding the chipotle ketchup and mayo, which are free. A major game changer that only costs 0.65$ is a fried egg, if you like them. The fries are good too. I like them a lot and I keep finding myself wanting to come back for more. The only big gripe I have is that I've been here four times and every time I've ordered a strawberry milkshake and every time they're out of them. So I don't know what the deal with that is, I don't know who's buying out all their shakes, but I'd like to have a word with them. read more

Not many options and the same food everyday, the food sometimes burn so bad. And the staffs are always so difficult for let customers choose food. Quality is inconsistent between the different dishes. Burgers are usually good overall, although sometimes they forget parts of my orders and can take a long time to be served. The wok station is always a guaranteed quick meal when you're in a rush, but isn't a meal worth coming to 64 just to eat. Also, the tofu is terrible, although all the non-vegetarian options are good. The "cuisine station" in the back tends to serve dry meat and overcooked vegetables; only the mac and cheese is typically the only thing worth getting. The tacos you can get aren't really notable, and a little overpriced. The dining space is clean and well-lit. This place just opened up Fall quarter 2014. I went with a couple friends on the three days after grand opening. I guess the food is decent, however the employees need to learn to be more professional, the cashier was clueless on taking order and asking me what I wanted. Don't be fooled at the price, I ordered a hamburger for $3.64 and that doesn't include lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions, pickles, basically everything you need on a burger. Each of those items cost an extra dollar.... Almost felt like I was being robbed. I guess it's ok if you use dining dollars, but cash is too expensive. Used to come here a lot the first year it opened. This year, they changed a lot of policies and now this place is NOT vegetarian/vegan friendly. I have seen servers mix up serving spoons from. Vegetarian dishes to meat dishes. Just now I ordered a sandwich, when I asked for no lettuce they used the same glove for meat when they accidentally put lettuce on, and then when I asked them to take it off they put it back in the lettuce. Also service can be really good or really bad. The new staff take almost a month to train and they will almost always mess up some aspect of your order. I was an adamant Plaza cafe fan....until i came to 64 degrees. I tried The Harvest sandwich and let me tell you, it was the best thing i put in my mouth that day;) A nice toasty bun filled with roast beef, pastrami and kale sauerkraut all blending in harmony, a symphony of flavor in my mouth. I double-fisted two sandwiches. The interior of the building is a modern style. With a sky-high roof, hanging curtains and a fire place in the middle, 64 degrees hands down has the best ambiance of all UCSD dining halls.The only negative thing I can think of is the fact that the food is soo sooo much harder to steal. jk. i don't do that. overall, a great dining experience. The Burger Lounge is great, but always takes an eternity, so if you have three hours to kill I do recommend. The cuisine food is usually lukewarm, and sometimes the chicken is undercooked.
