Came here for restaurant week to try something fun and new around town. We got sat outside on the sidewalk area, which normally I wouldn't mind but I do think inside would have elevated the vibes and ambiance a little be more for the fancy restaurant. Our server was kind and helpful with our questions we had. The food was really great, the duck confit and chocolate mousse dessert were my favorite of the meal. The escargot was honestly so bad we had to spit it out and stop eating it. I've had good escargot before and this was not it

We had a great dinner at Bleu Bohème! The crab cakes were amazing--crisp on the outside and full of flavor. The snails were delicious, and the bread for dipping in the juices was perfect. The octopus dish had a nice texture and flavor, though it was a little too smoky for my taste. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly--served slightly cold, but still really good. They had a great wine deal: $45 for a bottle to enjoy during dinner and one to take home for 10c. The wine paired nicely with the meal--not outstanding, but definitely a great value. Server was super friendly and attentive. We sat outside, which was lovely, but the inside looked cozy and charming too. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely come back.

We went to blue OM and Chef Ken is amazing. He came out to greet us and see how our meals were. The service by Kristi I think her name was. She was so wonderful. We want her next time too. We were a party of six and she was outstanding. The ambience is romantic.

I really wanted to love this place. I think maybe I built it up in my head and it did not live up to my expectations. Sat outside on a beautiful chilly night but they use a ton of warmers to make it a heated patio. The server started off great but seemed to lose steam a quarter of the way through the meal. My drinks were empty and I kept looking for anyone to help but our table kept getting passed by. Someone sat near us who maybe come a lot and we didn't get any attention after that. Their food came first and drinks before we got anything. I ordered a spicy margarita but it didn't come until after I had already eaten my scallops. The food was lovely but I'll probably never come again.

It's Restaurant Week again, and I'd highly recommend giving this French restaurant a try. At around $65 per person, it offers great value for the experience. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the French ambiance--the lighting, candles, décor, and overall pace are all very charming. It's a great spot for a date or a small gathering with friends. The menu leans toward classic French cuisine, with elegant plating and refined flavors, not overly showy or pretentious. Every dish we ordered stood out, with well-layered sauces that clearly show the chef's attention to detail. For starters, the Rillettes de Saumon is highly recommended--it's so good you'll want to keep eating it. For the main course, the Confit de Canard is a must-try. This traditional dish from the Gascony region in southwestern France involves curing duck legs with salt and spices, then slowly cooking them in duck fat until the meat becomes tender and juicy. It's considered one of the finest dishes in French cuisine, especially recommended for duck lovers. The service was excellent as well--attentive without being intrusive, with a well-paced dining experience. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, and if possible, sit inside, as the ambiance is better than the outdoor seating.

This place feels like it should be in Paris. Great ambiance, cozy spot. Servers were friendly and knowledgable. Food was amazing. Had the braised short rib and the dessert sampler. House bourbon was tasty in an old fashioned. Definitely want to go back and try other dishes. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommend for date night.

Ambiance was great with the mood lighting and French decor. Additionally, the service was wonderful and we got their great wine special which was $45 for a bottle and you take a second home for 10 cents. I would come back here to try a few more dishes and some more wine! The dishes we did try lacked that "wow" factor in my opinion. The onion soup was good but I've had better and it came out warm, not hot, as I was expecting. The crab croquettes on the other hand were phenomenal! The duck dish was overpowered by a very strong herb flavor and the beef was nothing too exciting - very basic. Our desserts did the trick, but again, I've had better crème brûlée and the brioche was quite dense. I'd come back again and give it another shot with some different dishes but overall I wasn't blown away.

I had coordinated with Jasmine, special events manager, for my company's private dinner in their Stone Room. She was very detail-oriented and accommodating. I had pre-ordered the following for our "Bohemien" style dinner: Wine Selection: - 206 Schlumberger "Princes Abbes" Riesling 2018 First Course: - La Charcuterie: house-made duck pâté, pork terrine de campagne, jambon de Bayonne, garlic sausage, Rosette de Lyon, Spanish chorizo, coppa sausage, pickled vegetables, croûtons, olives, Dijon mustard - Sadie Rose French Country Sourdough Loaves with Sweet Butter Second Course: - Croquette de Crabe: crab croquettes, jicama remoulade, tomato-rocket salad, saffron aioli - Crêpe au Homard: lobster crêpe, marscarpone cheese, jicama remoulade, white truffle-carrot sauce - Poulpe Rôti: seared Spanish octopus, Portuguese linguica, creamy polenta, roasted chickpeas, fresh tomatoes, sauce verte Third Course: - Salade Maison: butter leaf lettuce, basil/shallot vinaigrette, tapenade croûton, Roquefort blue cheese, apples, almonds, market beets Fourth Course: - Mediterranean Mussels prepared Marinière style: parsley, tomatoes, white wine, garlic, shallots, thyme, butter; served with Pommes Frites Fifth Course: - Coq au Vin: red-wine braised chicken thighs, smoked bacon, carrots, pearl onions, cremini mushrooms, fresh herbs, baguette - Saumon Oscar: Faroe Island salmon filet crusted with crab, pommes purée, fresh asparagus, sauce Béarnaise Sixth Course: - Mousse au Chocolat: dark Callebaut chocolate mousse, seasonal berries One of our guests was vegan, and the chef prepared a roasted vegetable entree for her that was very satisfying. Our server, Gina, took excellent care of us and was always mindful that our water and wine glasses were promptly refilled. The restaurant was very cozy and our private room was separated from the main dining room by a thick velvet curtain. The room itself was nicely set up with a long table for our party of 12, with aged candles that had the wax build-up to give it a medieval appearance. Our pre-selected courses were pre-printed on a custom menu so the guests would know what courses to expect for this unique dining experience. As it turns out, some members of our party were unable to attend due to the unavailability of Uber and Lyft drivers from downtown to this venue. Apparently, it was a busy weekend with the tree lighting ceremonies at Balboa Park and other locations. We had so much food leftover and Gina graciously packed and labeled all of them, which was very much appreciated. For the Charcuterie, what really stood out to me was the house-made duck pâté. It had a rich smoky flavor that was notably the best pâté I've ever had. I've dined at Michelin star restaurants domestically and in Europe, and Bleu Boheme notably has the best duck pâté in my opinion. I enjoyed all 3 items from the Second Course, although I felt the crab croquettes would have been better served with the saffron aioli on the side, as to opposed to on top of the croquettes. Also, the jicama remoulade was a bit too heavy on the cream for me. For a deep fried appetizer like this, a light and citrusy jicama salad would have balanced the flavors and elevated the dish. I had a similar issue with the lobster crêpe. There was already marscarpone cheese inside the crêpe with the lobster, so the jicama remoulade and white truffle-carrot sauce made this dish too rich for my taste. Like the crab croquettes, I would've enjoyed these crêpes more if they were served with something light and citrusy to balance the heaviness of the marscapone cheese. The Salade Maison was the crowd favorite. With all the other heavy dishes, we were craving for something that would cleanse our palette, and this was it. My only complaint was that I had specifically requested blue cheese and dressing on the side while I was planning the menu and it was noted on the contract. All but one of the salads had the blue cheese, anchovies, and dressing mixed in, which I did not care for. The one salad that was sparred was for our vegan guest. I was particularly disappointed since this was the one dish that I was looking forward to the most. The Coq au Vin and Mediterranean Mussels were my 2 least favorite dishes. For both of these, the wine was not reduced so it left a very over-powering wine taste that was a bit too strong to enjoy. The Pomme Frites were also overly salty. They were thin and crispy but were drenched in salt. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the pommes purée (mashed potatoes) were delish. I wasn't a huge fan of the asparagus, which I thought were over-cooked and the Béarnaise sauce was too creamy and buttery. The Mousse au Chocolat was devine and tasted heavenly. The fresh berries (strawberries and blueberries) helped cut the richness of the dark chocolate mousse, so this dessert was very well executed and well balanced. Overall, we had a very pleasant evening!

Came for restaurant week. The menu looked fantastic so I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately everything across the board was underseasoned. Flavor had potential but it just needed some salt. Here is what I got: Gnocchi: Great pillow texture. Had a nice smoky element to it. Scallops with risotto: Wish they seared both sides of the scallops. Lobster flavor in the risotto unfortunately does not come through. Bread pudding: Not as indulgent as I had hoped. Texture seemed off. It was too dense and lacked moisture. Maybe serving with ice cream would have made it better. Service was friendly but will note that it was a little slow.

Ended up staying local for Thanksgiving and decided to try out this spot for a Thanksgiving lunch. Let me tell you, it was busy right when they opened. You definitely want a reservation just so you don't have to stress about waiting a long time for a seat. The ambience is super cute. Plenty of seating indoors, at the bar, and seating outside. The outdoor seating gives the vibe of dining in Paris. They're well known for their martinis and they offer up a lot of variety. We got their basil martini, espresso martini, and blue martini. The basil was good and not overly sweet. If you like a simple martini, the blue one is for you. Espresso martini was also good - not overly sweet as well. They're all strong too. Sourdough bread is to die for. I'm drooling thinking about their bread. Crab croquettes were delicious. Pate & Terrine hit the spot cause I was craving pate. It is a lot and was too much for just the two of us. Boeuf Bourguignon was hearty and their Turkey plate was so good. I didn't think the Turkey plate would have been my favorite. Dessert was a great way to close the meal. Nothing bad to say about anything we ate or drank. Service was a little wonky. We sat at the bar and just didn't know who our person was. There were multiple persons behind the bar but no one acknowledged us. It took awhile to put our order in. A table that sat down a few min after us got their food before we even ordered. That's why I gave one less star. But that won't prevent me from coming back, I'll just reserve a table that's not at the bar next time.

This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

The oven roasted Curvina with vegetables as also very tasty. It was not my favorite but when you have rib eye cooked the way it was, we didn't need the fish. We topped off the night with dessert a frambuesa with vanilla ice cream.

For groups larger than 7, they require a prix fixe menu (5 or 7 courses) with the option to add a wine pairing. We went with the 5 course + wine pairing, which included a welcome drink (gin + cucumber based and very refreshing). The pairing was supposed to include four wines, but we only ended up getting one red and one white with refills which was a bit of a bummer. That said, the red ended up being one of my favorites from the entire trip, so partial win there. Food: absolutely delicious. Everything came out family style, beautifully plated, and perfect for sharing with a big group. No complaints on flavor or execution! 4 stars (and not 5): a few frustrating misses for a high end spot. First... they were out of tequila. In Valle. At this restaurant. What? Lol. Second, we were required to select our main entree in advance (choices were rock fish or suckling pig), only to get a call about an hour before our reservation saying neither would be available. The replacements were a fish (I think salmon?) and pork belly. Don't get me wrong both were good but last min menu changes like that shouldn't really happen at this level. All that said, still a great experience overall. I would come back with a smaller group so I can actually order my own meal and avoid the prix fixe surprises.

I've been here multiple times before for happy hour & then some. Love it before but LOVE THEM even…read moremore now!! Our gf had her bday celebration here two weeks ago. I was 30mins early with homemade bday cake in hand to surprise the bday girl. Since I was the first one there, Ludo & staff were exceptionally sweet to let me sit & wait even though all parties haven't showed up yet. Exceptional customer service!!! 12 out 10!! Delicious food & pretty big portions. Can't rave enough about this fine establishment!! Btw, there's an extra charge for bringing outside cakes which isn't a problem. In fact!!! They went above & beyond with cutting the cake & decorating each slices with fresh fruit & tasted like a coulis sauce. Gave the restaurant staff the rest of my homemade pandan carrot cake to share. Highly recommend Et Voila to every one!

For my dinner, I had the traditional Boeuf bourguignon with pappardelle pasta. My friends ordered the Steak au Poivre et Frites and Coq au Vin. We also had a great bottle of wine called Lacoste-Borie 2018. The last time I had boeuf bourguigon was about 20 years ago. a rendition of Anthony Bourdain's recipe, but without the pappardelle pasta. Et Voila's version with the pappardelle was outstanding. The freshly made pasta, not only added great texture, but also flavor. It prepared just right, too. The Cabernet sauce was excellent and offered a great depth of flavors. The dish also came with tender carrots, sweet pearl onions, and white mushrooms. All of them were perfect. The beef was rendered down beautifully and had great color and was very tender to the touch. The beef offered exceptional preparation and was an absolute pleasure to eat with the Cabernet sauce. Well done chef. I was treated to a house soufflé which was excellent. It hit all the notes: light, soft, and airy, but packed with flavor. The sauce that came along with it was very good. My friends, who are regulars here, were very pleased with their dishes as well. I have to say, both of their dishes looked amazing. The hospitality at this French Bistro is first rate. All the employees, including the owner, were very amiable and welcoming. They aim to provide an excellent dining experience and that's what they do. This place is perfect for date night, special occasions, or just to simply enjoy a delicious quiet meal.
