Let me just tell you how averse I am to cooking. In fact, it's safe to say I absolutely despise…read morecooking. Never had an interest, don't believe I ever will. This is not to say that I don't cook when necessary...I'm just not the type of person who goes planning on it. With that out of the way, one day my mother asked me to go to this Dream Dinners place. I had no idea what it was or anything about it, other than that her and my father had gone many times and that the food was delicious. So I agreed and much to my dismay I had an absolute blast! This place takes all of the burden off your shoulders from cooking by providing many choices on their monthly menu for you to choose from. Once you've made your choices they have stations for each dish, all of which have specific measurements listed and all you have to do is put the ingredients together and then freeze the items to thaw out later for your enjoyment. Something about not planning out the menu myself, going through the hassle of shopping and then preparing the meal and having to go through the fiasco of the set up and clean up was just so much fun to me. This place is awesome! Seriously, if you like myself hate cooking, or if you are a busy person who likes home cooked meals but doesn't have the time, check this place out. The staff is kind, friendly and knowledgeable and the total experience is a blast!

I'm pretty sure this is one do the few last ones, and I was surprised to see they weren't just a front or write-off! So imagine my surprise to find a huge variety of meal options to choose from, at rates similar to HomeChef or HelloFresh, but right here in my local shopping center... I was greeted by super friendly staff (shout out to Debby!) and even met the owner Khristy, who shared her sweet love story! I placed my order for next month after sampling some meals and I look forward to coming back to put the together. I look forward to coming back and experiencing a live session.

I arrived with a drawer with my name that had an apron and the meal/recipes I selected already, which you would do online (or in person at the store). I made an appointment to assemble my meals. Only one other customer was packing meals so I had no wait time at all at the various stations. I was shown how to pocket zip lock bags, fill them with pre-measured instruments of sauces, condiments, etc., following the instructions at each station, based on meals you selected on line. It was easy and kind of fun. It probably took me 45 minutes as a newbie. After I finished a zip lock bag meal, I put it in the refrigerator which also has your name for your reserved space while you are preparing the meals. They put them in my cooler and brought them to my car along with instructions. I froze 4 meals and placed 2 in my refrigerator to defrost for the week. I just baked and follow minimal instructions and the food ranges from delicious to good. My favorite was the mango glazed salmon and the pork chops w/potatoes. Then I thought the turkey meat loaves w/green beans followed by the sirloin tortellini were the next good ones. The pollo con arroz and the chicken tamale was the least favorite. Everything was fine. Some meals have "sides" while others just have the main dish. I can see this being a convenient way to cook dinner 3x/week (subscription is 12 meals a month, whose price varies based on the menu selected). I haven't decided yet whether I will continue because I actually like to shop and spend time cooking. You can cater to your own taste (i.e. put more of a spice or less) and great for those who just had a baby or want to save time. My only issue is that I'm still hungry--3 servings for me and my husband. I guess I just have a big appetite! The protein is portion size, i.e., palm of your hand for salmon or chicken breast. Regardless, I think that every meal should come with a "side dish" so you don't have to supplement. I definitely think the "intro" deal is worth it, and my friends, who each got a free meal and the option to buy 3 more meals at a discount, had a great time.

Measure pre-made ingredients and entrees, assemble it together in a zipped storage bag and go! The owners are hospitable and informative. I tried my first Dream Dinners meal back in 2009 and have been hooked ever since. What are my favorite meals from here? Firehouse Three Cheese Pasta with Meatballs would be my #1! Such a heavenly baked pasta/cheese/meatball combo, and you control the spiciness of this recipe (mild-three alarm!). Though I'm a scaredy-cat, so I stick to mild. Pub style chicken #2. Chicken breasts with bacon and melted cheese and to top it off, it's accompanied by a little ranch drizzle. Easy and quick to bake, I love it. And last but not least, #3, the Outlaw Chicken Sliders. Not only are they cute to plate, but soOoO remarkably tasty to eat. The bun resembles a mini ciabatta roll with white chicken breast patties, melted Swiss cheese and crispy French onions. Again, another dish that doesn't take long to make, about 20 minutes. Comes with a dynamite smokey chipotle sauce that I wish I had a whole jar or bottle of! A yummy menu for sure:) You can register for sessions to make meals by yourself, with family or friends. High five to this Dream Dinners to hosting a fun time for all!
