This was the pub style chicken after thawed in fridge and read to cook with instructions. Super yummy :)

I would recommend anyone to try this .... I'm so happy I did! I have a high risk pregnancy and I was put on light bed rest which meant I had no choice but to eat take out for me and my family for the remainder of my pregnancy. This would be super costly AND the take out food isn't as good as home cooked my husband is used to getting from me. I looked online for ideas on how to get food on the table every night since my husband unfortunately cannot cook. I also cannot keep up with the shopping for food, the prepping, chopping, cooking, and the best part, the clean up. I remembered seeing this place driving in La Mesa and looked it up online. At first I was a little nervous to place my order because what if I didn't like it? But I figured I would give it a shot. Thank goodness I did!!! I met the NEW owner named Marcy (I think this is correct) who is so nice and so are the people who work there. They offered me coffee, tea, or water while I was there and had samples both times of other foods you can try in their fridge of sides, snacks, and breakfast. I never heard or saw them try and up sell anyone. I saw someone else write that ... however, my experience they only showed me where to find some extras if needed. It was simply letting me know they had it there IF I wanted them. I did decide to try some of the sides which I am so happy I did. My husband loves omelets and theirs were easy and good. We also love their vegetable sides which are flavored and make eating veggies so much more appetizing. You must try the garlic bread. The best part to everything is that the food taste really good. It's no where near buying the horrible food at grocery stores pre-made or in the frozen food section. Also, because you prepare everything you can always choose to leave out onions or add more cheese etc. I found this was also cheaper or equivalent to me shopping for food. After the cost of the food I throw away or the fact I try new recipes and need new spices or ingredients. I have saved more a month on using Dream Dinners than shopping and doing it all on mine own. So lastly .... I wanted to also note two things. My husband was able to do this on his own which I was nervous he couldn't but he found it so easy and the people there were always on hand to help him. Second ... If you are going to be a new mom they were so kind to tell me that they would help us out the first month by preparing everything for us and my husband could pick it up. I think I saw they also have this option monthly in their calendar for a $25 fee. If you have any questions about it though I would just call and see if you can speak with someone. I plan to use them even after my pregnancy. Even if I just use them for 15 meals a month, it's so nice to not have to worry about cooking or the extra shopping and .... we love their food. Hope that helps someone out there. I love Yelp and know how important it is to know other people's experiences so you don't waste money or time.

What a great experience coming to Dream Dinners was! I am definately a fan and will be conitnuing to come here in the future! First off, Dream Dinners is a place where you can come with friends or by yourself to prepare meals. Everything is already ready for you. You prepare everything yourself and package them. The food is healthy and fresh, and fairly inexpensive. It's also very fun to do with kids! Basically, you pick from a menu dishes that you want to prepare. For example this month I made Mediterranean Cod (6 servings), Buffalo Chicken stuffed French Bread (3 servings), and French Country Chicken (3 servings). These dishes I put together - everything was already prepared, I just put them together and packaged them so that I defrost and cook them all at home. I also ordered 6 servings of Asian Pork Loin which was under the "fast lane" in the menu which means that they are already ready to cook, so I didn't have to put anything together. There's also a freezer full of sides and snacks, I found a bag of sweet potatoe fries.. MMmm!! Then after you prepare everything, you check out and take all your food home. Everything is meant to be in the freezer and then defrosted when you want to cook them! I pretty much bought 18 servings for about $70! I think that's a pretty good deal for some healthy and yummy food... beats eating frozen chimichangas! hahaha. While you are preparing meals there are people helping you if you have any questions... but they aren't in your face or anything! I totally dig this place! It's fun!!

The vibe is effortlessly cool--think red leather booths, vintage neon, and a mood that feels like Frank Sinatra might walk in at any moment. The highlight of the experience is the unique "Grill-Your-Own" steak concept. There is something incredibly social and fun about seasoning your own hand-cut steak and hanging out around the communal grill with friends or neighbors. If you're not in the mood to grill, their kitchen menu is equally impressive; the Turquoise Tots, Brisket Corn Dogs, and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp are legendary. Don't skip the Turquoise Room for drinks. The craft cocktails are expertly made (the "Art Snob" is a personal favorite), and they have a fantastic selection of local beers. With live music playing most nights, it's the perfect spot for a date night or a lively evening out with a group. Between the top-notch service and the one-of-a-kind atmosphere, the Riviera is easily one of the best spots in San Diego's East County. Highly recommended!

We began with the deviled eggs--a classic reimagined with such precision they served as the perfect structural opening to the meal. The true showstopper, however, was the Filet Mignon. Topped with a vibrant, hand-cut chimichurri, the steak didn't just meet the knife; it surrendered. The sauce provided a brilliant counterpoint: fresh, crisp, and possessing a light, tingly spice that dances on the palate rather than overwhelming it. Even the greens were a celebration; the "weed salad" arrived as a kaleidoscopic "rainbow of happiness," proving that even the most virtuous courses can be indulgent. I arrived with a drawer with my name that had an apron and the meal/recipes I selected already, which you would do online (or in person at the store). I made an appointment to assemble my meals. Only one other customer was packing meals so I had no wait time at all at the various stations. I was shown how to pocket zip lock bags, fill them with pre-measured instruments of sauces, condiments, etc., following the instructions at each station, based on meals you selected on line. It was easy and kind of fun. It probably took me 45 minutes as a newbie. After I finished a zip lock bag meal, I put it in the refrigerator which also has your name for your reserved space while you are preparing the meals. They put them in my cooler and brought them to my car along with instructions. I froze 4 meals and placed 2 in my refrigerator to defrost for the week. I just baked and follow minimal instructions and the food ranges from delicious to good. My favorite was the mango glazed salmon and the pork chops w/potatoes. Then I thought the turkey meat loaves w/green beans followed by the sirloin tortellini were the next good ones. The pollo con arroz and the chicken tamale was the least favorite. Everything was fine. Some meals have "sides" while others just have the main dish. I can see this being a convenient way to cook dinner 3x/week (subscription is 12 meals a month, whose price varies based on the menu selected). I haven't decided yet whether I will continue because I actually like to shop and spend time cooking. You can cater to your own taste (i.e. put more of a spice or less) and great for those who just had a baby or want to save time. My only issue is that I'm still hungry--3 servings for me and my husband. I guess I just have a big appetite! The protein is portion size, i.e., palm of your hand for salmon or chicken breast. Regardless, I think that every meal should come with a "side dish" so you don't have to supplement. I definitely think the "intro" deal is worth it, and my friends, who each got a free meal and the option to buy 3 more meals at a discount, had a great time.

Chicken breasts with bacon and melted cheese and to top it off, it's accompanied by a little ranch drizzle. Easy and quick to bake, I love it. And last but not least, #3, the Outlaw Chicken Sliders. Not only are they cute to plate, but soOoO remarkably tasty to eat. The bun resembles a mini ciabatta roll with white chicken breast patties, melted Swiss cheese and crispy French onions. Again, another dish that doesn't take long to make, about 20 minutes. Comes with a dynamite smokey chipotle sauce that I wish I had a whole jar or bottle of! A yummy menu for sure:) You can register for sessions to make meals by yourself, with family or friends. High five to this Dream Dinners to hosting a fun time for all!

Not only was all the food amazing, but the portions were generous and made for some great leftovers. My parents were in town so we were out to dinner together and we all got different dishes and each one was better than the next. The quesadilla was probably the best thing we had. Our server was attentive and quick while still giving time to be friendly. When they were out of a couple items for the drinks we wanted, she was ready with alternatives and always offered to at least double check in case there was something they could do. My dad even got a little preview of a new version of their Old Fashioned since they were in the process of phasing out the old one and were out of one of the ingredients.

It came with a yummy almond galleta dusted with powdered sugar. The coffee was perfect. I dipped my cookie in my coffee and truly it was the perfect bite plus perfect treat as I waited for my food because I was HUNGRY! Our food took a while to arrive it was a Saturday morning at brunch but it wasn't crowded. The wait was the kind of wait you do where you look at the tables around you to see who has food and who doesn't and wonder what was the seating order of the folks around you and if they got their food before you and why. So when my food arrived I was sooooo ready! I ordered the chorizo and crispy potatoes burrito. It looked great when it arrived! I strategically cut my burrito about a quarter of the way in. I knew I would at least eat a quarter but I knew I definitely wouldn't eat the whole thing and I didn't want to waste a perfectly good bite on all tortilla. I cut my burrito and put a bite on my fork and as I put my food in my mouth I looked down and find a long curly hair. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I was disappointed for several reasons. 1. The bite I took was all egg and tortilla. No cheese no chorizo no potato. 2. I was starving! And 3. I knew I wasn't going to have anything to eat until after the other two people I was with finished eating and I could go somewhere else to get food. I didn't let it damper my mood. I showed the waiter who was very apologetic and took my plate away. When he walked away. It hit me I didn't tell him to not bring me anything else because I was going to eat a remade burrito. So I got his attention because I didn't want them to waste anymore food. Here is what I will say. To replace my food, I was given a pastry platter that was AMAZINGLY good! The concha was legit the best I've ever eaten. The banana bread was delicious with delicious toasted pecans which added a caramelized texture to the banana bread! No joke, it was so good. What I will also say is that I was visited with no less than 3 people including Gabriela herself who was absolutely apologetic about my experience and assured me it wouldn't happen again. What's also nice is that I wasn't charged for the food I ate which believe it or not has happened to me before MANY years ago. My peeps whom I was with absolutely loved their food. One had the Sopes and the other had the huevos rancheros. So while I have to be honest about my review, I really think this was a one off mistake and at the very least I would highly suggest ordering cafecito and pastries from Casa Gabriela!

I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me
