So I thought it be nice to have them just check and bag the groceries. I said at the beginning to the checker "I will need bags today". After she rang everything but the last item up she asked if I need bags. I said yes. She then said " you can grab them and start bagging". I said no I just finished a long day at work I'm not here to work more. She looked at me offended. I said "I'm really suppose to bag them?" She said "yes". I made a complaint to the manager and he sided with her saying " it's hard for me to believe she expected you to bag." He was very un polite and unprofessional to me. I like Dollar general for being convenient and fairly cheap and all, but this location has the best vibe and customer service that I've ever seen at a store. I have witnessed everything from the cashier's carrying out bags for customers​ if needed but also the actual customers assisting other customers with the same thing. I've had the cashiers spot me what I was short on transactions on the honor system alone. I have never seen anyone working here without a smile. I have never even seen any customer being rude or impatient after waiting in line which I'm guessing is due to the exceptional friendliness of the staff on a consistent basis. I recently went in to get some ramen before work and was immediately helped at the counter, given a paper to fill out with my preferred broth and toppings and then waited only ten minutes to be able to walk out with (nice and cheap!) piping hot ramen, full of flavor, proteins and veggies. The store is laid out with fresh fruits and veggies as you go in, a plentiful amount of wines, beers and seltzers, and an abundance of employees ready to help you when you need.
