I was looking for a coffee for an afternoon pick me up. It caught my attention since it had Kona in the name of it. I looked at the menu and was immediately caught by the island latte that has macadamia nut and coconut syrup. It totally reminds me of being on the island of Hawaii. I am so happy I came and ordered the island latte iced. It was perfectly sweet and it reminded me of being in Hawaii. Too bad it was not closer to home but if I am ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by and try other items too. Parking is plenty but beware there is a Tesla charging station before it. Love the vibes, the extensive menu, the 4 shots in the mediums, the music. Knocked off a star bc for someone that CANNOT consume dairy they often put the wrong milk in my coffee. I havent drank dairy for most of my life so i know i am saying "oatmilk" when i order. I now need to check it on the screen, in the receipt and make sure I take my first sip there. Got the strawberry latte (half sweet) which is their seasonal "special". Oh yes it was very special and not in a good way. It tasted like strawberry water. No espresso flavor at all. To make it worse, the cup was not even full to the top. If I am paying almost $7 for a latte, it better be full. The service was ok. Nothing special. A new coffee shop I decided to try while I was in the area. The staff are all very friendly and the cafe gives a homey comforting feeling to it. I ordered a cortado and a s'mores latte while a friend got the spanish. cortado 5/5 - a classic cortado done right, good texture, good temp, good roast. S'mores latte - 3/5 - this one wasn't my favorite, the marshmallow on top wasn't as sweet as you would want in a marshmallow while the base was just a mocha. Great chill coffee shop to give a try. Inside is theme-decorated but still chill to the point where I could stick around for a while getting some work done, study or chat. They sell a couple of items you get on your trips to from Hawaii like the Honolulu Cookie Company shortbread cookies or the chocolate covered macadamias. The staff are really friendly and helpful with suggestions for what they recommend and service is quick. They have a pretty good sized menu with seasonal coffee options I definitely want to try like the tiramisu latte, and a decent sized cafe menu of breakfast and baked items. I got the island latte as I seem to be drawn to the coconut and macadamia lattes lately. I would've to go for the Spanish latte but I have a rule against cinnamon in lattes from past experiences (I know I could have probably ask for it without the cinnamon but I can't lol). It was good! A friend of mine told me she was addicted to this local coffee shop, said she spent in one month around $135 on Kona Coffee.. I had to know what was making her come back over and over. Well I've been here twice now and I get it. They do have such great options and gives us such great Hawaiian vibes, even merch as well. The service is great. Friendly staff. I have loved the matcha and island latte, not too sweet and just the right amount of coffee you need in a 16 oz cup, they have 24 oz optional. Ooo! And they have gluten free & vegan options as well! Sooooo yummy!! I do wish they'd have a 16 oz option for smoothies for the kids as 24 oz can be a little too much, but the musubis were good, they even were able to heat it up for us as well. Typically, when I come to a coffee shop it's more to work than to drink the coffee! This spot was very nice. The lighting was on the dimmer side, and most importantly not fluorescent. The Wi-Fi was quick and there were open seats when I got there around six. I got the iced Spanish latte, with light sweetness. Unless you're someone who loves sweet drinks I would recommend this! I've been curious about this place and found myself at the auto shop in the same parking lot. My initial reaction is that it's a nice, open space, with a good amount of seating. I ordered a black Americano, and added some raw sugar, with some steamed half and half. More often than not, I'm pretty disappointed with coffee shops. But I was happily surprised with this coffee. Nice and strong for a mid roast, with great flavor. It's always great to visit a coffee shop that actually serves great coffee. Next time, I'm going to need to get a pastry - I should have ordered something when I was there, but didn't even notice the assortment until I was leaving. Give this place a go if you're in the area. It's a very relaxed atmosphere here at Kona Coffee. I especially like the outside seating here. My yogurt fruit parfait tastes really good, with the fresh yogurt, fruit, nuts and granola. Ordered a bullet proof coffee, hot island latte, Hawaiian chicken panini and a spam&egg musubi. Favorite item was the spam and egg musubi! Great price and it was pretty big. I might need to ask for the island latte to be extra sweet next time as I was hoping for a stronger macadamia nut and coconut flavor. Was expecting more with the chicken panini. While the inside of the sandwich was tasty, the bread to filling ratio could be different. Kona Coffee District offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Such a hidden gem! Coffee is always so unique and reminds me of the drinks in Hawaii. Breakfast and pastry items are always fresh. Service is always great. We learned recently breakfast stops at 1pm but there are other Hawaiian dishes still served throughout the day. I love this café, but I wanted to share some things that will hopefully make it better. On the positive side, it's always busy and for good reason. The food and menu are excellent, and the ambiance is friendly and inviting. It's a great addition to the neighborhood. And now for the constructive criticism. Your matcha is overly bitter, and the oat milk needs an upgrade. One issue is that the barista may be using too much Matcha per drink. Matcha varies greatly from brand to brand, and also grade. For example, ceremonial is the highest quality, so perhaps try a different brand if you're not already using ceremonial. I ordered this as an oat milk latte, and your oat milk tastes watery and bland. I would try a product with higher fat content and that is extra creamy. Both of these characteristics are ideal for a high-quality, oat milk latte. read more

Came here the other day and forgot to take some pics, but it is a nice interior with quite a few tables for seating and they Al's have a patio area with more seating. There are quite a few options for both food and drinks. I got the kimchi rice breakfast burrito and it was pretty good. Egg, kimchi fried rice and spam. I just needed a touch more spice but it was still pretty good. No drinks on this visit, already had a coffee earlier in the day. Stopped here to try and see if I could find an Island Vintage Island Latte dupe on the mainland lol! I had a hard time finding this place once I entered the plaza and didn't find it till I walked around more and looked at the pictures on Yelp. So thank you to all the Yelpers who posted what the front of the shop looked like! I went in on a Friday afternoon and there was no line but lots of people sitting in the cafe. Chill atmosphere. My drink also came out so fast. Barista was friendly and helpful advising me on milk alternatives that would go well with my drink choice. Pricing was that of a normal coffee shop. I ordered the Island Latte with oat milk and I really enjoyed it! It's no Island Vintage but it gets the job done. Nice amount of sweetness and coconut flavor was present without being too much. The coffee didn't taste too strong but was pretty strong in regard to how jittery it made me. 4/5 Overall, I'd probably stop by here if I'm ever in the area again. Second visit and tried some food items! Got the veggie sandwich with sourdough bread. Very light, healthy and fresh. The sourdough bread was reaaaally delicious. Reminded me of bakery fresh bread. Also tried the Almond croissant. It was very very tasty, perfectly sweet. And it was bigger than I thought it would be. I got the same latte as last time, the Island Latte. Interesting menu items, friendly staff, chill vibe. Nice place to stop by for a drink or a snack. My Japanese friend introduced me to this place. We each got a drink and then sat there for over two hours and chatted. She's friends with the staff but I think they would be cool with it even if we didn't know anybody who worked there. I got a prana chai latte, which I wasn't familiar with before but the gal at the counter helpfully explained the drink to me. Anise and cardamom forward, a nice variance from the usual straight up latte. They had snacky food items but I wasn't in the mood for breakfast foods so I just enjoyed my drink. Now for the food we got a veggie sandwich (which is rare but it looked so good I had to try) and their chipotle turkey sandwich. Both were AMAZING! The veggie one was stuffed with cucumber tomato avocado and lettuce. The turkey was also stuffed with turkey slices bacon and tomatoes. And for the drinks we got your basic vanilla latte and caramel macchiato. The vanilla was nice, not too sweet which I like but I probably could've added an extra shot. I swung by when I was waiting for my car to charge up. It's located right in front of the superchargers and I love visiting new coffee shops. My order was placed online and it was ready when I trotted in. The interior was moody and dark. Comfortable ambiance to do some work, study, etc. The person who handed me the coffee was friendly and nice. The problem was my actual coffee's taste. I have a feeling I just ordered the wrong item on the menu. The coconut flavor tasted really artificial and left a weird aftertaste on my tongue. The coffee itself was lukewarm despite it being iced. I should have just ordered normal iced coffee or a latte without the extra flavoring added. I wouldn't mind revisiting if I'm in the area to charge my car. I sure do love my Hawaiian Kona Coffee!!!!! I finally found a good kona coffee place to get my fix! This place is located in Lake Forest is a definitely a must-visit. This spot brings the distinctive taste of 100% Kona coffee from Hawaii's Big Island (one of my favorite islands to visit) and I am so excited to get this flavor in OC! Coffee: Genuine 100% Kona coffee which are sourced directly from family farms in Hawaii. Has a nice smooth, low-acidity taste, somewhat chocolatey and nutty undertones. Price is around $10 for a cup which is on a pricey side as I have gotten cheaper ones from the Big Island but it is worth it for a 100% kona private reserve. Pastries: I had to get their biscotti and GF summer camp choco cookie (gluten free) and it was quite good. I also got a Mango Pineapple smoothie to go so that I can enjoy it at the office. Overall, good place to get high quality coffee and treats. Indoor ambiance is bright, modern, and welcoming. The staff was friendly and greeted me when I entered. They are more than happy to walk first-time guests through the menu or explain the differences between Kona grades and brewing styles. Bonus Tip! Ordered a mixed berry loaf. The texture is very off, it's hard and dense and leaves a grainy texture in your mouth. It has no flavor, doesn't taste like berries, like vanilla, nothing. I wouldn't recommend this at all. Coffee was fine. Smoothie was ok but lacked flavor too, it was green and tasted like banana. Response to reply: I've had gluten free baked goods before and this one was lacking in more than just gluten. Look at the photo. My husband complained and after some reluctance they took it back and gave us a croissant which had a weird garlic taste to it but was fine. The potatoes inside were overcooked and they used the cheapest cuts of bacon or maybe it wasn't cooked well. The salsa they gave on the side was pic that had no flavor. A less chunky salsa would be a better option. Also got a cold brew. For a splash of heavy cream, there was a 50 cent up charge.
