We were on our walk yesterday, Wednesday around 2 pm. No vehicles on the drive thru yet, so we just walked up to the window. This staff is ON IT. If the line gets long, 2 of their staff exit their little hut and start taking orders from the line. They are so pleasant and efficient ( my favorite combo). I am a fan of the Human Bean and this has become a regular stop for me and my wife when in the area. The location itself is very small, located right off El Toro but can easily be missed if you don't know where to turn off. The line is almost always quite lengthy when we are there but the staff is great and the drinks typically come out quite quickly. My go to drink is the iced Snowy Mocha and it has great flavor and is always made to perfection. The pricing here is also quite good and they offer a substantial rewards program as well that adds up quickly. Although they have since opened a newer location closer to home in Garden Grove for me, I still prefer this location so far overall for consistency and overall pleasantness. I am a satisfied customer of theirs and hope to return again many times to come. read more

It's a cute lil drive thru in a small plaza right off El Toro Rd..... no frills, all thrills!! Coffee drinks are way better than Starbucks!! Shoutout to our barista Joshua, who was funny, charming, and probably moonlights as a stand up comedian with a milk frother!! Super friendly and very helpful!! I got a 32 oz Matcha Smoothie (at 7-11 this is translated as a Big Gulp lol) and yes, it was as creamy and dreamy as I remembered it to be! This Human Bean is only a drive thru. It is in a small shopping center so while waiting I sat behind a parked car which made me nervous. The drive-thru moved super fast though. Going anywhere? Then you need coffee! And everyone knows that the best coffee is always sold from a small shack in a parking lot. I've been a regular - defined by an almost complete inability to drive past Human Bean without pulling into their drive-thru - for a good while now. The staff are always super friendly, and the quality of their drinks is high. Caramel or Java Chip Granitas or a matcha iced tea are my most frequent picks, and I usually get the largest size which is a cup that could double as a hardware store bucket and elevates me to full Cornholio mode (ask your parents) and readiness to face existence. Their pup cups are huge too and contain a milk bone, and I have it on good authority that they are very tasty. Whilst the location is primarily drive-thru focused, the staff will come outside to take walk-up orders. The park next door has nice picnic tables and is very pretty on a sunny day, so it's a great spot to park the car and enjoy a lazy coffee and some outdoor time with the pups. I first discovered The Human Bean while on a trip up to Visalia, California, and I've been a fan ever since. It was a great surprise to find one closer to home in Lake Forest. If you're driving ... um, "enthusiastically" down El Toro Road, it's easy to miss the little building tucked just off the road, but once you know it's there, it's hard to stay away. This location is a drive-thru only setup, and you place your order at the window. The baristas are always friendly, helpful, and impressively fast. The first time I stopped by, I ordered a Mexi Mocha Latte and it was spectacular--rich, just the right amount of spice, and a perfect pick-me-up. On my next visit, I tried the Beez Kneez Honey Lavender Latte, and this one might be my new favorite. There's rarely more than a car or two ahead of you, and if it ever gets busy, they're quick to send a barista out to take orders before you get to the window. Pro tip: bring your debit or credit card--Apple Watch payments tend to slow things down at the window as they are primarily set up to swipe not use the contactless card reader (although they do have one; they use it when they're outside taking orders). I used to frequent the human bean when I lived in Idaho. When I moved to Southern California in 2017 I was so sad, when I was unable to find syrup flavored energy drinks. Two years ago, when taking my son to his track meet in Lake Forest I discovered they had The Human Bean and wondered if it would be as good as I remembered! Of course I had to purchase multiple drinks and they were as good as I remembered. We ended up back the following weekend and the barista remembered us. Great service and tasty beverages, way better than Dutch Bros. Which I also was used to in Idaho. I try to come here at least once a month. Super cute and fun drive thru coffee stop. There's no seating bc of this. They cycle through seasonal specials which are delicious and have a lot of non-dairy alternatives. They're really quick with the order. If it's really backed up, sometimes somebody will come out directly to your car to take your order so it'll be ready by the time you come to the window and pay.
