7 Eleven is a childhood favorite of mine. This is the biggest 7 Eleven I've seen in Manhattan on the Upper East Side. The store front is deceiving. It's long and goes way back where there's a couple steps down to where you find alcoholic beverages. The space is narrow so one person at a time near the soda machine. Lady had a stroller too so I decided against getting a drink. I took photos of the standard items. You can't beat the prices on the prepared foods. There's a steady stream of customers coming in. The place was clean to me. The way the shelves are set up I don't see how the cashier can see if people are using five finger discount. I bet they lose a lot of money because of that. While I was there the employee brought out a fresh tray of White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies for the pastry case. For 99 Cents I couldn't resist. This is going to be my go to for cheap eats when I'm in the neighborhood. It's clean with friendly service and well stocked with the merchandise prices prominently displayed. read more

I like the 7-Eleven it's open 24 hours the place is always neat and clean. Mostly a come here for my midnight snacks fix. The taquitos here are fantastic they mostly have deals on them. The only reason I give them three star is because most of the time these to Taquitos are dry and I have to tell them to make it soft. read more

EPIC FAIL PART TWO!!! Ok, so I knew this 7-11 was a few avenues away from the one I was just at that had no Slupees on free Slurpee day. I walk up, sweaty and craving my Slurpee, and see a sign on the door - "No More Slurpees"! WTF!!!! It was only 9PM. This was supposed to go on until midnight. Again, the two guys behind the counter were no help at all and were kind of grumpy. "No Slurpees!" was all they would say. "Machine not working". Again, I saw a bunch of people waiting around holding that mini cup they were giving out for this staring at the machine begging for it to start pumping out Slurpees. Get your act together 7-11. It's not rocket science here. I gave up and went to a bar for a cold beer. read more

Oh thank heaven... 7-11 is the bomb. They have all the assorted stuff you need on short notice and not matter where you find yourself roaming, there is usually one nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by this one as it was laid out nicely with nice bright lights and a large selection of stuff available. Beers, soda, snacks, coffee and candy are the basic staples but they have a little more in the way of cold and headache stuff and all that. After park drinks, perfect coolness on a hot day in the city. This store goes back pretty deep. I've not yet made it beyond the slurpee machine. The flavors here are good. They also have some food. Some of it looks good, the rest, ehhh. One day I'll have the boy try something. Kids will eat almost anything. The cashiers are kind, for the most part. It's excellent for emergency coffee and donuts, as well as random groceries (am I the only one who *always* forgets something when I go to Gristedes?). I must have some sort of monopoly on the 7-Eleven's in Manhattan, because I seem to have hit them all. Either that or I'm a 7-Eleven groupie. Yeah, I think that's it - I'm with the Big Gulp. This particular 7-Eleven is on the outskirt-outskirts of the Upper East Side, east 84th and York Avenue to be exact. I think all the apartments in this area alone are worth more than this 7-Eleven. It seems so out of place in this area, where there are more senior citizens and stroller mafia than in any other area of Manhattan. And this place is small. I mean, there are convenience stores that are bigger than this. But you'll pretty much find anything you need here. Big Gulp, of course, you will find here. Fresh coffee you'll find, along with every creamer known to man (I'm a French vanilla man, myself). So yes, this is an okay place, especially if you don't feel like shleping all the way to 1st Avenue to Gristede's or Food Emporium or whatever they have on 86th and 1st Avenue. read more

This place is always very clean, bright, and pretty well stocked. The space itself it so big, you almost wish they carried a bigger variety of products, but I guess that's the 7-11 model for you. They have your basics: gum, candy, coffee, chips, the seemingly endless supply of hot dogs, pizza, wings, taquitos, and other assorted hot prepared foods, eggs, milk, soda/mixers, and a pretty decent selection of beer in the back. I also appreciate their deals on tall boys of beer (I think it's still two for $4 or $5, depending on brand). Also, big help is the Amazon Locker located in the back. When I order online, it never seems to be full, so it's a helpful option other than the one in the Gristedes on 86th. read more

This is one of the cleanest 7-Eleven's I've been to. Maybe I just happened to come when they just finished cleaning or something. Everything was well organized and the cheese and chili for the hot dogs were not caked on the whole dispensing machine like I'm used to seeing at other locations. Definitely not as big as some locations, but this one will do. There weren't a lot of people there when I went, but the cashier was still good compared to the 3rd Ave location nearby. He was cordial and didn't act like he didn't want to be there. I'd recommend this location if you live within the same distance to the other one. read more

I am very sad to know that chains like 711 have come to Manhattan! I don't have anything against them but I think of them as being in suburbs linked to gas stations. They just all popped up all over the place out of the blue. I had read on another social network a NYC expert moved from NYC and said when K Mart came here it was the beginning of the end of NYC. I have never been to K Mart but I do go to 711. One of the nicer 7-Eleven stores in the area. Always clean, good selection and prices are usually fair. It's no Sheetz or Wawa by any means but the best place to go when you need something at 10 pm on a weeknight. read more

Inventory wise, this 7-Eleven is nothing special as they all have the same. However, the staff is amazing. Shortly after moving into my apartment I was searching for somewhere I could buy an envelope to leave my new key with my super and I found this 7 eleven. I asked if they sold envelopes (at this point I'd even have bought a box) and he said they didn't. I asked if he knew anywhere local that I could and he asked how many I needed. I said one. He gave me one from an open box behind the register. No charge. Any time I've been in there, staff has been welcoming and friendly. read more

I wish I could give no star. This is the worst 711 I've been to. 711 has a promotion for medium coffee only for 99c, and I got three of them but when I went to the cashier to pay they charged me for the regular price $8.13 and I said it's only 99c because I just went to many different 711 on the past weekend and I was charged for 99c, but the staff said.."O..we don't do that here", I said isn't it a franchise store? Don't you follow the rules? The staff just said, yeah we don't do that here or you can cancel if you want to. Extremely rude personnel. I used their do-it-yourself key duplicator machine. I was asking the guy in the counter for assistance and he rudely told me he didn't know anything about that machine. I've been to a number of 7-11's and that guy was the most rude I've encountered. The machine didn't give me any receipt . Again the counter guy was very rude when I was asking him what happened to the receipt. I brought home the key, and IT DIDN'T WORK!! So a total ripoff. ok i am ashame to admit it but i enjoy going to any 711 on occasion to get my slurpee and unhealthy hot dog on once in a blue moon. its a typical 711 but smaller then most i have visited over the years, the location is york ave and 85th st and is kept clean and well stocked with drinks, snacks, lottery tickets, some house hold stuff and other stuff that 7 11 seems to be famous for like slurpees and those nachos with that digusting gooey processed cheese ooze. the guys who work here are ok when its time to ring up customers the texting and daydreaming stops for a while. the prices for slurpees and soft drinks have always been the main reason i stumble in 3am in the morning when i roam the upper east side. i always can count on finding something to munch on or drink when i get the 711 blues. the only knock against them is that tooooo many are popping up all over on every other block (damn slow it down, so move over suburbs , the city is taking over. overall i dig the ocassion trip to the big seven one one. p.s. its big gulp for me or its nothing at all. read more
