Not sure how I have never been to this place before. It's an amazing place to stop and get hot food in the area and pick up a couple specialty items. All of their grocery items are so neatly stacked and displayed. They have a range of really unique and common products. Ate their buffet lunch and it was delicious!! A nice little market very close to the CBS studio and Riverside park. It is clean and things are laid out properly, very inviting to shop. I think the fresh meat section is either very tiny or non existent. It has more fresh fruits and vegetables, milk and cheese plus pantry items. I love the cake slices right by the entrance as they all look very good. There's blue velvet cake here! Wonder how it taste like as I didn't get it. Attached to the market is a food hall selling made to order sandwiches and other cooked food. Like a mini food court. There are both Asian and western food. errands in Midtown West often require recharge aka coffee especially if it is winter and you're all the west on Tenth Avenue. thankfully Hudson Market, a gourmet market / grocery with self-serve coffee. fairly large clean modern market with grocery items as well as food stations and hot and cold buffet bar. the coffee is tucked in a small area. there are several brewed coffee bean flavors. got a small 10 oz for a caffeine kick and the coffee tasted fine as they must refresh it regularly. if you're looking for a chance to hide from din of the city or its winter chill in Midtown West as you grocery shop then this might be the spot for you. read more

I am rating only really the salad bar (cold and hot) which is I believe $16 or $17 per pound. This has to be the best food at any salad bar (hot or cold depending on what you get) in Manhattan or possibly anywhere on the planet. Yes the prices are outrageous but totally worth it. Between the fried rice, roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, lo mein, mozzarella/salad/tomatoes etc, it is super high quality. I would still watch very closely what you choose because there is a ton of options and some look much fresher than others. Everything i ordered was very fresh but you have to look closely, as some may have been out on display longer than others. When I checked out and payed, a gorgeous young woman at the counter clearly wanted me out of there ASAP. She said thank you to me about 3 separate times as I was packing my things up, and clearly had a "get the heck out of here" look on her face. It was probably one of the best things I've eaten in a really long time. They also have some great items on their hot food bar. I tried the Mac and cheese which was also really tasty! They have the best buffet I've been to in NYC. Great variety with a thoughtful menu. Great quality. The sandwich station uses great ingredients, including the bread. I don't, however, go for the cuts of meat bc it's pre-cut. My personal sandwich: BLT on whole wheat with jalapeno and mayo --- perfection, all top-notch. They also have a comfortable seating area and wifi. I wouldn't do my regular shopping here bc it's expensive but they have what I need in a pinch. read more

I think the management of this place purposely up charges on certain items not listed on the menu, then when you inquire they then say "this section is more", when it actually is not. There's not many breakfast/lunch options in this area, so this establishment feels they can include hidden charges for items that should be included. I frequent this place often but the way I've been treated is beyond miserable. I was given my order and accidentally dropped it because of the faulty, cheap packaging- and because, well, accidents happen. The "MANAGER" on night duty said I needed to rebuy my ordered. Interestingly, they offer a lot of Asian food (sushi, ramen, rice bowls, kimbap, etc) and grocery items (Korean bread, kimchi, Asian snacks and drinks, etc) which is nice. The interior is really clean and the selections are pretty varied. They have a small breakfast buffet in the morning (until 11:00am) for $11.99/pound and a larger grand buffet for the rest of the day for $13.99/pound. They do a 50% off the buffet and 30% off the sushi after 8pm. However, as much as I like Hudson Market, the prices are rather high compared to similar markets. For reference, most other markets in the area with hot buffets generally charge $10.99/pound. Their grocery and food hall prices aren't cheap either. read more

The thing you do get is a clean food court type market with alot of options in asian cuisen + salad + sandwich + hot bar. Hot bar is $11.99 a pound last time I was there. A bit high, but they do have some nice gourmet options you don't see at many places. Bimbim Bap beef is tender, and the spicy sauce is my favorite thing to put on rice and veggies. If I want hot cooked food or salad I can either go to the hot bar or salad bar and choose a variety of delicious offerings, roasted salmon or cilantro shrimp, mango kale salad, sautéed green beans and mushrooms one of my favorites, teriyaki chicken, comfort foods like Mac and cheese-- there is a huge variety of selections, and the dishes, change periodically to keep things interesting. Or I can get a fresh cheeseburger from the grill or have a salad bowl or sandwich made. Scott the Food Manager, formerly a successful restaurant owner, is very happy to answer any questions I have about the ingredients, because I am a Weight Watcher's member. So, I live near the Hudson Market and I really wanted to like it. Here were my initial thoughts about Hudson Market: Pros: Clean and bright. I felt there was a lot of space in the market, which means you can somewhat easily navigate the store. They have a decent hot/cold food selection if you are looking for a quick bite and live/work in the neighborhood. Really good selection of Asian items for being outside of Chinatown and K-Town, but there will be a price for this convenience. Cons: Selection is a bit limited. There is not a lot of choice, which I get being a small store, but the brands they do carry are slightly pricey. Some items look very close to their expiration dates (like in a month or two for items that don't look perishable). Everything just feels pricey, some items don't have stickers on them to tell you the price and when you check out you'll find it is a little more than you want to pay. My advice is you check it out yourself, if you are on short supply of the staples and really need something, this place will probably suit the bill. If you are looking to stock up your pantry, fridge, and/or freezer...this may be a hard pass because you will walk out with a lot less, but be paying a lot more than than you expected. I live super close and always shop here. I like their selection of goods but this place is constantly disappointing me with the quality of products. I just got a smoothie at the smoothie bar, and my smoothie was FULL OF PLASTIC. I initially thought it was fruit peel so I swallowed it, but then I realize they were pieces of plastic. This is so extremely unacceptable. Additionally, I bought smoked salmon and it already had gone completely bad. Sour and not edible. I wanna like this market and I wanna keep shopping here. Can the owner address these issues?? Why are your employees putting plastic into the smoothies? And why are you putting expired smoked salmon on shelf? OMG, Hudson Market was definitely cool. The vibe was welcoming as well the workers. Everything we ordered was excellent and the menu itself was to die for.
